Apple employees are forced to use AI

oh no, even apple software going to have tons of AI Slops. looks like we all need to face the reality having many of the software codes are being write by AI now.

[twt]https://twitter.com/Midnight_Captl/status/2043702834999468215[/twt]

QUOTE

Apple Is Now Penalizing Its Internal Teams That Don’t Use Enough AI In Their Workflow

Apple appears to be doubling down on Claude AI in its internal workflows, going so far as to penalize low token consumption, as per new anecdotal evidence.
Some of Apple's internal teams now have a daily budget of around $300 worth of Claude AI tokens, with low token consumption increasingly singled out

As per an anecdote, Apple's global sourcing teams on the business development side have received a daily budget of as much as $300 worth of tokens for Claude AI over the past few weeks.
Related Story Chinese SSD Maker, PetaIO, Unveils PCIe Gen6 SSD With CXL 3.0: Over 28 GB/s & 50M IOPS

What's more, backfill requests are now increasingly predicated on a given team's overall AI use, with Apple teams that fail to consume their daily token budget by a wide margin facing elevated request denials.

Just to contextualize Apple's daily token budget for such teams, consider the fact that according to Anthropic, Claude Code typically costs $100–$200 per developer per month on Sonnet 4.6.

This suggests Apple is really doubling down on AI use within its internal workflows with an eye towards boosting the productivity of each team.

Meanwhile, Apple's consumer-facing AI strategy is also nearing a firm rollout. As we detailed recently, Apple's revamped chatbot Siri will run on Google's own TPUs and cloud infrastructure, albeit under Apple's ownership. The iPhone manufacturer insists that the arrangement would not result in a change in Apple's stringent privacy-related safeguards.

According to the previous tidbits by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Siri chatbot will be baked into Apple's software, allowing it to leverage personal data, perform in-app actions, search the web, generate content, including images, provide coding assistance, summarize and analyze information, as well as upload files.

Apple is also designing a feature that will let the chatbot Siri view already-open windows and on-screen content, along with the ability to adjust device features and settings, and handle combo requests that combine several commands within a single prompt.

The chatbot Siri will reportedly leverage a much more advanced version of Google's Gemini model, known internally as Apple Foundation Models version 11. According to Gurman, "the model is expected to be competitive with Gemini 3 and significantly more capable" than the one supporting the revamped Siri.

Additionally, Siri will no longer be accessible solely via voice commands. Instead, Apple is debuting a dedicated Siri app with iOS 27, which would serve as a central repository of all past conversations with the AI assistant. The app will include an "Extensions" feature that would seamlessly connect to third-party agents such as OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude, allowing Siri to tap into the capabilities of these agents. The App Store will also sport a dedicated "Extensions" section from where users will be able to install all supported third-party agents.

Also, while users can still activate Siri via voice commands or the power button, Apple is testing a new interface that resides within the Dynamic Island. Finally, Apple is attempting to replace its "Spotlight" search function with Siri, allowing for a unified search-related UI. The new search interface will continue to show "Siri Suggestions," which would span across apps, upcoming appointments, and changes to settings suggested by AI.

https://wccftech.com/apple-is-now-penalizin...their-workflow/

due to heat path block allowing heat to be transferred quickly, the chip can run more efficient.not bad. however samseng seems to throttle the chip heavily, anyway they know they cant beat the best, no point to have the chip to take as much power and run hot as possible just for the sake of winning benchmark.
genshin impact average battery drain - 4.09w
wuthering waves average battery drain - 4.70w

really looks like samseng 2nm does reach parity with tsmc 3nm. now they just need to improve yield.

snapdragon 8 elite gen6 cost as much as intel 285k

at freaking 560usd for those advanced chip. demn. flagship phone will get much more expensive. no wonder china oem like xioami make thier own soc. some already made their co-processor to cut cost on qualcomm soc.

QUOTE

Speculative Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 iGPU Looks Promising, Despite "sub-Pro" Performance
by T0@st Today, 02:41 Discuss (0 Comments)
Qualcomm introduced its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile chipset at the tail end of September, followed by yesterday's presenting of their Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform. On a surface level, this confusing naming scheme makes it difficult to tell the difference between the two fifth-gen options. Complicating matters further, semiconductor industry soothsayers have already moved onto predicting the nature of next generation Qualcomm offerings. This week, Digital Chat Station reckoned that Qualcomm's engineering department has moved onto the development of a mysterious "Snapdragon 8950" SoC. This forthcoming "standard" SKU could end up becoming the "Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6" chip; set to exist alongside a more potent "Pro" model.

Earlier today, Digital Chat Station shared fresh musings via their Weibo blog: "the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform's performance was pretty good, which gives me some confidence in next year's standard Snapdragon 8950. After all, it uses the same high-end TSMC 2 nm '2+3+3' Oryon CPU (as the Gen 6 Pro), with a slightly downgraded GPU. This chip will be positioned directly in the 4000 yuan (~$560 USD) price range." The speculated "Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro" option is expected to utilize a more powerful Adreno GPU, thus demanding a price premium. Insiders believe that Qualcomm will be selecting TSMC's newer 2 nm "N2P" for production of the sixth-gen Snapdragon 8 production. Reportedly, MediaTek leadership has made a similar decision regarding the makeup of its next flagship designs.

https://www.techpowerup.com/343387/speculat...pro-performance

exynos 2600 going all out on AI performance.

seriously, is running local LLM really matter? i only use gemini to do quick google search, does the job well.
anyway, it could help running FSR4 if AMD decide to open source it for better image quality.

QUOTE

Samsung is shaping up to return to the flagship chipset category with a bold statement, as it is working to introduce its first 2nm GAA SoC, the Exynos 2600, in a few months. Before the grand unveiling, the Korean giant is required to run a bevy of tests to ensure that the SoC is ‘market ready.’ According to some internal testing, one report summarizes that the silicon is nothing short of a beast, handily beating both the A19 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in a variety of compute, GPU, and AI tests. Here are all the details.
In Samsung’s GPU tests, the Exynos 2600 is 75 percent faster than the A19 Pro, but only obtains a 29 percent lead against the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Data compiled by Korea Economic Daily provides information concerning the internal tests ran by Samsung for the Exynos 2600. In AI performance, the chipset is six times faster than the A19 Pro’s Neural Engine, and in compute performance, Samsung’s first 2nm GAA SoC is 14 percent quicker in multi-core workloads. As for the GPU, the Exynos 2600 is 75 percent faster than the A19 Pro’s 6-core part.
Related Story The Timely Delivery Of Apple’s OLED M6 MacBook Pro All Depends On Samsung’s Ability To Purchase And Install The Necessary Equipment, Initial Target Being Q4 2026

When compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Exynos 2600’s NPU was around 30 percent faster, with its GPU said to score 29 percent higher than the latest Adreno 850 graphics processor. Interestingly, the compute performance numbers were not shared in the report, maybe because the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s in-house Oryon cores are superior in this regard.

No doubt, these are breathtaking numbers, but Samsung’s internal testing is not the same as the Exynos 2600 performing in the real world, with the latter likely portraying a more realistic picture of the SoC’s capabilities. In short, we should probably pull our jaw up.

Why are these Exynos 2600 performance results unrealistic?

The internal testing environment, or lab testing environment, is always supposed to provide skewed results because companies offer the best performing conditions for their chipsets. For instance, the Exynos 2600 could be placed in a completely secluded room that is operating at lower temperatures, allowing for the silicon to boost higher clock speeds while maintaining the best possible thermals.

Additionally, Samsung may have unlocked the power limits of the Exynos 2600, meaning that it would have an insanely high power draw when obtaining the aforementioned results against the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and A19 Pro. If the same power draw was exhibited by the Exynos 2600 when running inside of a Galaxy S26 model instead of an engineering sample in a controlled environment, it would likely reach thermal throttling within seconds, causing its performance to nose-dive.

Due to the Exynos 2600’s higher number of advantages in internal testing, we would prefer to check out the commercial Galaxy S26’s results to provide an impartial performance overview. Unfortunately, the chipset’s launch is still a few months away, so while we await the imminent announcement, you can check out our detailed rumor roundup to learn more about the silicon.

https://wccftech.com/exynos-2600-performanc...-8-elite-gen-5/
