Fan can be removed from case. filter is removeable from fan for easy cleaning. removing fan and/or filter doesn't require tools, but accessing to the fan needs to remove the case cover.

The stock feet compared to aftermarket feet:

Aftermarket feet:

Aftermarket feet is NOT PnP. Improvements are also visible in the PC-Q11. Stock case feet. More HDD, HDD tray. The frame jointing is moved to the rear in the PC-Q11, while for the PC-Q07 is at the top of the case.

Thanks f or looking.

Cheers.
Project HTPC

I got this case quite sometime ago, prolly a year or 2, from someone in the Garage Sale.

When I got it, this is how it looked like:
(BEFORE)

I was not happy with the front panel, but the size was alright for a HTPC.

Started to "redesign" the outlook of the casing, and decided to go for the "plain-jane" power amp look.

The Project commenced with the stripping of the whole casing to separate pieces, and drilling out the rivets.

After that, procrastination took over and I junked the whole lot into the storeroom. Sadly, it collected dust, and nothing was done there on.

Came 2011. One of new year's resolution was to complete the project, or it was going to the bin, as the missus was spring-cleaning the store for the new year preparation.

Ingredients that maketh' mah HTPC:
G31 mobo
E3300 proc
2gb rams
Modded Huntkey PSU - dissembled the casing and drilled more holes on the PSU chassis for "better" cooling.
Illuminated power switch
1TB HDD
HD5770 Hawk GPU
a handful allen capscrews to bolt the front place to casing
2 units of 12cm fan filters
4 units of chassis feet off some faulty dvd player

First thing done was cutting of an alu plate to fit the front, and slowly cut out holes for the dvd drive. Holes were cut for the power switch and power LED as well.

Both sides of the chassis were cut to fit 2 units of 12cm fans.

After all that cutting and grinding and smoothing, sent the complete casing to a friend(who's working in some metal shop) to get a new skin colour, which is black . The front aluminium plate was anodized while the other steel parts were blackened.

All the stuff were put together a coupla days before CNY 2011. The front panel had a nice finishing....but wasn't too happy with the colour on the steel chassis. Too late to do anything, but to put everything together.

Sorry, no pics during the build...only got pics after completion...
(AFTER)

Put together with my bluray player. seems like the width of the bluray player is similar with the case...

Powered up...

Currently, I don't have wireless keyboard+mouse and a nice multimedia remote...was thinking of getting a Rapoo 2900 or something similar....but it will have to wait...

Recently added another USB extension hub at the rear...to have more USBs for "future proofing"
Installed with Win7, and utilizing the Windows Media Center for HTPC.

Would like to try other softwares such as the XBMC...but not too sure on how to set it up....noob here

That's what my current messy HTPC setup looks like now...

Anyway, thanks for reading/looking.

Cheers.

Hi there.

My Gigabyte EP45-UDR3 mobo in my Rig#1 has started giving me "hang" issues recently.

It has never happened before, but for the past month or so, I've encountered the PC hang at random times...

earlier I thought there were some equipment failure, but just this week, I got another mobo & did troubleshooting by transferring one item by item(rams, gfx, proc, hdd) to the new mobo and tested...no hang issues whatsoever on the new mobo...

the giga mobo bought in april 2009, in imbi computer shop(jayacom) & got receipt... so now, I would like to ask...where should I send my mobo for RMA?

I believe that giga has 3 yrs warranty...

any directions and/or contact would be great.

cheers!

thanks in advance.

*BEWARE* of this person => LYN nick: Originalman

Forumer you are complaining against: Originalman

Item being bought: Adobe Design Premium CS4

Original thread link: Page Link

Date of transaction: 3rd May 2010, afternoon, SS2 McDonald's

Details of the complaint :
Saw the ad in LYN on monday morning. Wanted to do some checking on the Student version of the Design Premium, however, that day I had been bogged down with so many things to do. Had to COD with another forummer for the win7, had to collect my car frm exhaust shop, had a friend come over to help me fix my other car at home, had to go to back to renew bank book.

Only had time to call that guy, and asked him to explain about the Student edition of Design premium.

He told me, even though student edition, but still can register, and can upgrade to CS5....no problem wan...can register like Microsoft Office Student edition.

I happened to be using Office Student edition as well, and reckoned what he said made sense.

I asked him on and off again during conversation, and he kept saying it's no problems, it's legal software, etc etc.

Then I said OK la...then we talked abt deposit...and later agreed on the deposit of rm150, in which I deposited via maybank.

When met at McD's, he showed me the software. It has labels that said the software are only applicable to students. I queried him again, and his answers were the same: "can be used one, no problem. similar like the Office Student version, etc etc".

After a chat, I decided to take the software, and paid him. He told me if there's anything, can call him or Adobe line.

Went back home, and continued doing my car.

Next day(tuesday 4th), I checked the EULA online.

Found out that the Student edition cost rm399.

Then I called adobe's line. The customer service told me that if I'm not a student/teacher,I'm not eligible to use the software. I told him my seller said it can be used. He requested me to return the software, as it will be illegal for me to use it.

I called the seller, and he said I dunno how to speak to the Adobe ppl, and said he will contact them. He called me, asking me to open the software, to bet the serial number from the CD. After some tele-conversation with the seller, I became agitated, and in the end, I have requested firmly for a refund of the software.

At that point, I have yet to open the software.

I told him I wanted a refund, as there are so many hassles involved, and he had conned me by jacking up the price. He told me he cannot refund, and told it's not a way to do business.

Well, Jason Tan Choo Ching, what you did IS not the way to do business: by misleading me you bought the software for rm2k over.

I told him, if he doesn't want refund, then exchange my student software with the full retail version. He said he will get back to me.

Yesterday(Wednesday, 5th), no news from him.

Today, I will wait, before I comtemplate on what action to take.

I have checked the net, and found some info on him.

Lelong.my

Seems like he had some story behind sometime back. Now, he's back.

Details: Jason Tan Choo Ching
IC No: A1332292 (690730-10-5375)
Maybank account: 114235794272
Hp number: 012-3101018, 019-2090908
Lives in: Seri Kembangan

Things that I can look into doing:
1) Report to police
2) Report to BSA or Adobe
3) Bring matter to Consumer Court

So LOWYAT.NET citizens, please be vary of this smooth talking person. He can promise you everything, but cannot deliver.
Perhaps some of you may have dealt with him and escaped.

I did not check on his details, and took it for granted what he said was true.

Anyhow, from my point of view, he has cheated me of my money.

I will wait today, and see what transpires after this.

OBJECTIVE:

-To move all parts from old casing to another old casing ...which is from CM stacker STC01 to Lian Li PC-7B+.
-Cut out proc cooler hole
-Cut out holes to enable better cable management
-Extend the front Audio wires to reach the back of the mobo
-Sleeve(using heat-shrink) most of the cables
-Add "anti-vibration" foam strips inside the whole casing
-Spray paint Flat black internally
-others(fabricate fan bracket for gfx, etc)

INTRO:

I'm in the midst of rebuilding my current rig...transferring all my stuff from my current casing, Coolermaster Stacker ST-C01 into an old school Lian Li PC-7B Plus.

I had earlier gotten a PC-A05B, which I quite like. However, I had wanted to mod the casing, ie. cut out holes/slots here and there, hence I did not have the heart to do so(chop-chop) on such a beautiful casing.

Luckily, my friend, forumer Grexer, was looking for such a similar casing...and he offered to take the PC-A05B. I had then sourced out a used case, also a Lian Li, the PC-7B+, from another forumer, E-J@1.

Thanks to Grexer and E-J@1.

Anyway, my budget for this rebuild is small, and the bulk of the $$$ went to some new parts:
-Corsair VX450W
-CCF
-Sapphire 4850 512mb
-TR-FDB-2000 case fans
-memory card reader
-Powerlogic Zen z200 keyboard

Reusing old parts:
-Asus Commando
-E8400
-Crucial 4x1gb rams
-HDD
-DVD burner

THE WORKS:

Work started out the next day after getting the case:
-Stripping out everything

-No more bolts/screws/plastic parts etc...just chassis

-Holes were cut out: Cooler holes, PSU holes

-case was sprayed black, with the help of a friend who does car painting

-all the other plastic parts were fixed in again

-"anti-vibration" foam were applied on fan holes, on all other parts where the alu panels meet...trying to reduce as much vibration as possible

-the front fan hole had been trimmed off the filter support as well

-after the "anti-vibration" strips were applied, the complete casing were "test-installed" to see if all the panels closed completely...

...to be continued...and thanks for visiting...

In a dilemma....

i'm currently using streamyx, and it sucks....as usual...hence i'm thinking of doing something...

first, i'm thinking of getting a new land line from telekom. I'm currently using my folks' land line, which is downstairs, connected to my wifi modem.

my PCs are upstairs, running with wifi usb receivers. signals are crap. torrenting is crap. MY wife's complaining abt the d/l speeds...it's really frustrating...we previously had a dedicated land line for our streamyx...the d/l speeds were "acceptable"...but recently, my wife cancelled the line as it has incurred additional costs....and since we could use the other land line for the streamyx...

now that it's gone from bad to worse...we had to do something now...

hence, hopefully, with the new land line, i have 2 choices:

1) get TM to redirect my streamyx to my new line, and connect to my modem with cables directly...that means going back to the so called "acceptable", capped d/l speed...

or

2) terminate streamyx, get other BB...

i'm in SS23 area, and there's no wireless coverage from jaring...sigh....since i've read here that jaring's d/l speeds are highly appraised...

we don't want BB that capped or have hidden issues...my wife and I d/l stuff 24/7...with 2 dedicated d/l machines...

would appreciate suggestions from the sifoos here...

cheers and thanks in advance.
