Damaged Mono Input (Right)

Dear fellow Sifus,

I've just got a 2nd hand Velodyne subwoofer (VX-10CE-2) from my dad which he abandoned for a while now and i quickly tried to hook it up last night to my Pioneer receiver BUT to discover that the RCA MONO input (right or red) was damaged! My dad told me that he broke a RCA cable tip and left it in there (cant really see in the picture)

As a quick countermeasure, i inserted the RCA cable into the Left input (as you can see in the picture) and I was happy that it produced sound but its rather soft and inaccurate (basically didnt sound right).

Since I'm a newbie in HT, what is my next action?

1. Is there anyway to retrieve the broken piece of RCA cable in the input port?

2. If i send it to HT shop, can they easily repair the input port? Approximately, how much is the repair cost?

3. Am i doomed?

Hi Guys,

I'm very puzzled on which 11.6 inch to buy with a budget below RM2200. Just got the Dell M101z from Dell online but was quite dissapointed with the performance, it takes so long to start up and basic office work and videos are sluggish. The batter life is also horrible. Luckily my dad agreed to buy it from me. He fell in love with the 11.6 screen.

The Dell M101z spec are as below:

- AMD® Nile™ Athlon II Neo K325 (Dual Core)
- 4GB (2 X 2 GB) 2 DIMM DDR3 1333MHz
- Integrated ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4225

I m facing a deep deep dilemma between LG 50PJ350 & Samsung 50C430 plasma TV.

What do you guys think?

From the paper, i understand that the LG has 3 HDMI vs 2 HDMI inputs from Samsung but the LG is more expensive by RM200+.

Both are relatively new and i can't find much review of it.

Hi Guys,

I hope this is the right place to post this topic. But i m really stuck.

My boss is going to open up a small jewelry shop in a shopping mall at around 800+ Sq Ft this coming December.

Now, my problem is i cant seem to find a Jewelry Shop Insurer, i have called MUI (they were the lead jewelry insurer but dunno why they stop), i called Tokio Marine, Prudential, Progresive Insurance. All DONT have!

Can someone wise out there please recommend me a insurance company which cover this shop! need it badly.

Hi great Sifus out there!

I m in a middle of dilemma now in choosing between Samsung LA40B650 or LG 42LH70.

The Samsung is RM600 more expensive for a few extra features and supposedly better picture BUT 2 inches smaller than the LG. So my problem is, is it worth it to spend that RM600 for better picture BUT smaller size screen OR Lousier picture BUT bigger screen??

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if you guys have the same problem as me. Both my Gen-2 front door can masuk water one le!!! Another potong technology and they actually know the problem!

2 years ago, i was wondering how come my Ori speakers got "cap" at the back, somewhere near the magnet there but I didnt go think about it and change to after market component set. I use the wood (used for woofer box) to mount the speakers at the door's original place and guess what??? after 1 year the wood koyak because kenak water. i cabut off the panel and drive in the rain and nearly kenak heart attack le!! the water gushin in through the side of my speakers which means my speakers have been bathing for 1 year!!

Any of you sifu out there got any recommendation ar? im planning to custom fibre work for the speakers, but it will involve cutting my door panel........sayang le......

Hope i can get some advice b4 i pergi ICE shop tomolo?? I think they r just goin to replace da wood that hold my speakers and my speakers will continue to main air.

L-SATA cable for external HDD

Hi,

I've just bought a 2.5' External 80GB SATA WD HDD with some cap ayam casing without realizing what SATA really means beside people keep telling me that its faster than the normal IDE/PATA or USB cable. Then later at home I found out that there is no where to plug the L-shape SATA cable on my desktop com. Do i have to plug straight onto the motherboard? Read some of the forum in here claiming that these SATA feature for external HDD is gimmick. hmm.......So i paid extra RM70 for nothing?
