Corolla SEG Rims Dilemma

Hi everyone,

I own a corolla SEG (AE 111) 1997 Auto. Just got the car not long ago. It still has the standard 14'' rim 'besi'. I wanna get sport rims to make it look better. Just wondering should i change to 15'' rims or maintain 14'' rims? Also if i change to 15'' rims do i need to knock the fender or change my suspension setup etc etc? And a recommendation of tyre for either rim size would be nice too. Does FC suffer if i do change rim size?

Help! Petrol Fume Smell in Cabin

Hi, i own a 1991 Nissan Sunny Extra II, and there is a strong smell of petrol fumes in the passenger cabin. Its been that way since i got the car, and so far i've done the following.

1. Change fuel filter and pump (complete with hoses)
2. Checked the breather cap for the petrol tank.
3. Checked the thing( not 100 % sure what it is) in the boot above the petrol tank.
4. Opened up and cleaned the carb, changed the gasket.

All of the above i checked with my foreman who is an ex tan chong guy. For those from seremban and have a sunny, u might know him.

The symptoms of the petrol fumes are as such. It happens when i do town/city driving, and only during the day. At night there isn really any smell of petrol even when town driving. Long distance driving there isnt any issue.

The exhaust and engine bay also has no petrol smell, and there aren't any signs of petrol dripping anywhere. Fc is still good for the sunny.

And the smell normally is strong when i on the AC. Hoping for help coz i kinda like the car. =)

Hi guys, I am planning to build a gaming rig with the budget of 4 to 5 k, together with monitor.

My main requirements would be,
Able to run games smoothly with high setting on 1080p
A 23/24 inch monitor
IF possible, id like the GPU with a non stock cooler. Something thats quieter.

BSOD pci.sys

Hi there.. Earlier i started up my comp and started using it.. Then after about 5 minutes it BSOD. but there wasn any pci.sys mention. then i restarted and opted for safe mode, and then it showed the pci.sys error. i cant seem to use safe mode to access my comp either. Below are the two BSOD's i encountered.

Well, im a student, and im moving into a new rental house, and im installing my own ac in my room(1 hp Midea) But the thing is, there's only 1 power plug in the room. Is it safe to use a multiplug and plug the ac, a mini bar and my laptop to the one power plug? and another room, my friend is taking, can one power plug power an ac(also 1 hp and a water heater.)

Im not too sure about the wattage of each item, coz ive not gone to the house yet, going tomorrow.

VGA cooler for 6870

Ive got a Gigabyte 6870 ( standard one) and i want to change to a 3rd party one. But i need one thats about as thick as the stock one or slighty thicker coz i dun want it to block my other components. Could anyone recommend me one? The length doesn matter. im using a RV02 Evo.

*about 2 slots fully covered. maybe a lil more possible.

Please move the thread if this is at the wrong section. First time in Cooling and Hard modding. =)

Riger modem headache

Okay. here's the thing. My Streamyx line has been using the old Billion modem all this while(i.e. no wireless). Recently i managed to get my hands on an old Riger modem. its still in good condition and working. I plugged the Riger in and went to the setup and entered my account name and password, choose the wireless name, and set the password. But after all that that, i couldn surf the internet though the main comp or my laptop. so i decided to run the diagnostics and saw that

ping primary domain name server FAIL

and something to do with the VPI VCI settings also FAIL

the rest are showing PASS

all the lights on the modem are on. and the internet light is on as well, but not blinking. my laptop can detect the wireless, but cant surf. ive tried calling streamyx for hours but their operators are always busy. So i've come here.

Im not at home now so i cant try the probable solutions as we go. but some guidance would be very appreciated.

PSU enough to support hybrid setup?

I'm thinking of using a hybrid setup, where i use the 6870 as my main GPU and my 9800 GT as the dedicated Physx card. I know how to go about it, and ive got all the patches and such, but im merely worried about my PSU for now. Im using a Silverstone Strider Plus 600W PSU.

According to this chart my PSU can support a 6870 in a CF setup, so im thinkin it sorta shouldn have an issue with the two GPU's mentioned earlier.

But if i do need to upgrade then wat wattage should i get??

My specs are as shown below:

Kingston Value RAM 2GB x 4
Gigabyte 6870
2 x 1 TB Samsung Spinpoint
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy

BTW i may be chucking in an SSD later on.

Hi, im driving the car mentioned above, its my mum's car actually, but it's me using it most of the time, but ive noticed the FC is really bad compared to most cars nowadays. i get an average of 300 km ++ oni... its in auite good condition, although im pretty sure the engine is not as powerful as before. Any tricks or tips to increase the FC? I tekan once in awhile oni la, but mostly the FC is still high when i dont tekan aso...

Comp 'Lags' for awhile when puntting in ext HDD

I just got my rig about 6 months ago, and lately (bout 1 month) when i pun in ext HDD its lags very badly. Some times it hangs aso. Even pendrives can cause this issue. Could be mobo, but its brand new... @.@

4 k for a laptop and a new rig.. Possible?

Well, my friend asked me to help him get a new rig(complete with monitor) and a laptop for 4 k or less. I told him ill try but im finding it quite hard to do so.. He wants the desktop for gaming, and the laptop can be a basic one just to watch movies and carry around. I was thinking AMD proc since its WAY cheaper than Intel. And maybe a pretty decent ATI GC (better BFB than Nvdia IMHO).

Wanna ask the sifu's here for help, although i already have a list in mind i would be very grateful for help from the more experienced. XD

And im scratching my head bout the lappie too.. He wants a new one btw. So something cheap i guess.. Bout 14 inches..

Above are my specs. Only bought and assembled 3 days ago. At first the stock heatsink was giving prob. After changing that, now the comp auto restarts from time to time. It completely differs. Sometimes it can play games like front mission evolved no problem, then while doin something totally normal, it just restarts. It also hangs at windows loading screen after asking password. Just reformatted it, but it restarted while nstalling new drivers.. Please help. Very very down coz its new and i spent a bomb on it...

SIFUS!!! I ask for your help!!

P.S- Took it back to the shop and while running there it restarted once, then was fine for a long time.. so the shop guy said ok dey.. Then came back and this happens.. @.@
