TESL UK (KPM)

shinseijiro90 — Fri, 18 Sep 2009 23:00:12 +0800

Hey,

I know it's a bit 'prying', but could anyone tell me how much you get from the sponsors before you fly off to the UK for your TESL (kementerian pendidikan malaysia)?

I mean like overall, including the settling-in allowance, winter clothing allowance and everything else.

I'm asking cause a friend of mine is about to fly off this September and she called me up asking for RM2K. She said KPM only gave her RM 800 before flying off.

I just want to make sure that she's not lying to me by drastically decreasing the exact amount she's getting in order to get a few more bucks.

I don't mind helping out, it's just... RM 800 only?

That's got to be a lie.

My seniors who flew off to Japan (JPA), got more than RM10K as living allowance for the first 3 months there.

Please help/ advise.

Is 7 years too long ?

hey,

i've been offered the JPA scholarship to do a Diploma in Engineering in Japan.

basically, i spend 2 years at UTM, then 3 years in Japan. If i do well in my diploma, JPA will sponsor me for another 2 years to complete my degree.

so, do you think this TOO long a time to be studying ?

some say they wouldn't study that long because of financial restraints but because this a scholarship i don't have to worry about that.

i also read somewhere in this forum that a few years back a guy who was under the same course had trouble looking for a job back here in Malaysia. Now, that troubles me.. i mean, i don't wanna be jobless when i come back !

ps/ did anybody else get this offer and are you accepting it ?

Getting Financial Help To Get Into Klj Yayasan UEM

shinseijiro90 — Mon, 31 Mar 2008 01:48:09 +0800

I've checked out KYUEM and I totally love the school.

My big dilemna is of course the RM 60,000 tuition fees.

It said on the school's site that most of their students receive "major scholarship awards from Malaysian corporations". That means from private companies and sectors right ?

Do you now a company that can help me out ? A company that gives study loans or scholarships.

There actually are a few companies that have money in their annual budget for such things it's just that they don't advertise it like Petronas does. Or so I've been told.

Anyone ??
