How do I repair rear window defogger

I recently bought a used car of which the previous owner had removed the tint (presumably too dark to pass JPJ). This of course meant that the rear window defogger doesn't work anymore and a check with the SC says that it's best to replace the rear window, costing more than 2K.

I want to know whether there's material available locally to repair/refurbish the defogger.

TIA.

Need step by step setup for Prolink H5004N

Dear Experts

I bought a this Prolink H5004N modem for my cousin and the setup appears simple enough to just input the Streamyx username and password but the PC seems to be unable to get online (PC connected via LAN cable to the modem).

On the wifi side, I have attempted to connect via my Samsung W and can only connect to the wifi but not get online.

Can someone in this forum please post a step by step on setting up the modem to a WinXP PC.

Thanks in advance.
Buyer beware - The case for 1stopgold

Ladies and Gents

I had recently decided to look at purchasing some small items from 1stopgold but discovered that their application forms and the terms and conditions were of a dubious nature and subject to misrepresentation and potentially open to the possibility of fraud.

Their "standard forms" will have you provide your personal information, banking information as well as your employment information, complete with how much your earn and what you want to do with the income you have. This also includes a copy of your identity card.

I was made to understand that this entity is not sanctioned by any statutory body or govt department to collect information from the prospective buyer.

Citing the anti-money laundering and terrorism act of 2001 (Malaysia), this entity assumes its rights to collect such information to make it available to the authorities on reporting suspicious transactions involving "proceeds of any unlawful activity..." One would wonder how it can come to that conclusion.

The "standard terms and conditions" attempt to obfuscate the buyer and has clauses that clearly are not justifiable in every sense of the word.

If you have dealt with them before and have not had any challenges to date, I pray that it never happens.

The reason I say so is because their "standard terms and conditions" do not prevent them from using your details for fraudulent purposes, as there is no expressed guarantee written in it that they won't.

I have bought jewellery and precious metals from various dealers in the past and this entity is the first to come up with such chicanery.

So, should you start a relationship with them? I leave that to your good judgement.

I shall leave their application forms and "standard terms and conditions" for you to peruse over.

Have a great bull run!

WTA: IPTV with Aztech Homeplug

Hello all

If someone may have answered this before, can you please point me to the right thread, Thanks.

I have Unifi installed downstairs and everything is running fine, downstairs.

I want to install the IPTV upstairs and I have Aztech Homeplugs around the house (HL110EP). The router (Unifi's) is downstairs and I can get internet connectivity with the Homeplug upstairs but am unable to set up the IPTV when I move the STB upstairs (same socket).

Is there a way around this?

TIA.

Flat rate interest for entire home loan

Hi all,

A quick search on the net shows me that only insurance companies (ING and AIA) have flat rate interest for the entire duration of the home loan.

Does anyone know of any other financial institutions that have flat rate interest for the entire period?

Thanks and regards
Pub Mutt.

Gaming PC vs Workstation PC

Hi guys and gals,

This may not be the right sub-forum so please help point me in the right direction/thread.

I am putting a proposal for new PCs in my office and wonder what type of hardware I should get.

Here's what we do:

1. We use AutoCAD for 2D drafting work and deal with a lot of images (tiff in particular)
2. We also use specialised software that is GIS related that reads a lot of image-type data for viewing.

I am wondering whether gaming pcs will do the tasks better than workstation pcs. I know the workstations will have Xeon processors, but does it really work better than an iCore 7xx for example?

Pricewise, of course workstation is like 2 to 3 times more expensive from vendor.

Your input is most appreciated.

Thanks and regards
PMutt
