Damaged Chassis related question

Hey guys, Ive a friend whos wira met with an accident some time back. The car was put on those chassis alignment jigs and stretched to the original dimensions. this was maybe 2-3 years back.
Recently hes been complaining that the car is pulling towards the left which is where the accident damage was. I had a look at the car the the restoration work on the car was pretty bad, in fact it started rusting and the geometry on the damaged side didnt match the original geometry.

Question is , can the front subframe of the car be replaced with, maybe a halfcut front end? Is this legal in jpj terms?
Question two is what would be the best way to fix this problem? put the car back on the chassis alignment jig and stretch it again, knock it back to shape at a panel beater or just replace the front end?

WiSE Check engine light

Hey guys, wanna ask about an annoying problem with my wiSE vdo 2005..every time run on highway above 3000 rpm the check engine light will come on..so far ive been to two proton center with their MUT and my usual workshop and done the following over a period of 6months :

1) clean TB (diy) usually do every 2 oil change
2) replace O2 sensor
3) done mut engine diagnostic, no error code (wtf?) so they reset it to factory setting
4) my usual mech did normal inspection check for fluid leaks, check vacuum leak (test drive and monitor vacuum meter) ,check whatever wiring he knows etc...doesnt seem like anyone knows the problem..and in 6 months i have nothing unusual like no increase in FC,no breakdown,no smoke, no rough idle..

any ideas?

forgot to mention, my service is always on time, semi-syn engine oil every 5k,clean air filter, change oil filter
every 2 oil change clean TB, replace spark plug

no major changes or modifications done before problem started

Accident report being delayed by police

Hey guys,
I met with an accident in Penang on the 6-6-09. The details was i was waiting at the traffic light (which was red) and a kancil rear ended me which caused some damage to my car. (as stated in my report,rear bumper,reverse sensor,booth,muffler cracked,front headlight etc estimated damage is rm800+)

The problem now is the other party didnt make a report,so according to the officer,they will wait a week after the accident date, send the offending party a warning letter,wait another week for reply.If no reply by this time, they will
issue a keputusan kes saying its langgar lari where i can claim the offending partys insurance for my damage.

The officer has been delaying the keputusan kes and he said the final date will be on the 24-6-09 but until now he is still delaying saying he will post it,etc when hes free. I have a friend at penang who can pick up the report for me once its completed but the officer keeps saying he will post it,even now i just called him he said will do it today..

So what i want to ask is what is my options now to get my car repaired? (without claiming my own insurance and losing my ncb)

How to check mounting damage?

My car vibrates a lot during idling and when stationary.Previously had a minor accident with the road divider to avoid an accident in front of me.Lower crossmember has been changes,and two mountings which were damaged cuz of the accident.After roughly 8 months now car seems to be vibrating a lot.Any ideas?

Hi guys,my speakers have been lying in the store for a long time and recently i took them out for a home theatre set up but the speaker foam has crumbled to dust.I used to know this shop in pasar road which sold the foam and a special type of glue for it,but that was years ago and im not sure where i can get it from.Hopefully around subang,pj,puchong area.And any idea how much it costs?looking for 4.5" and 8".

Hi guys,
I m currently in the planning stage of a bolt on turbo for a 4g15 efi engine on a proton wira. Im still in the designing and idea stage,just want to bounce some ideas about and see if its feasible and what are the modifications that need to be done.Im hoping more of you senior members,especially those with experience in turbos to give me some constructive comments.
Here are the parts im able to source if i decide to go ahead:
-TD04 single fin
-GSR intercooler
-Turbo manifold
-Intercooler pipings
-Exhaust downpipes and other connections
Ive friends in workshops who are willing to get the piping work and other connections done for very minimal,what im concerned in is the fuel supply requirements.
What i dont know is the stock 4g15 engines fuel pumps maximum pressure and the injectors max cc.
Besides that,whats an appropriate AFC that can be used effectively for tuning.(Currently looking into SAFC)

Please bear in mind that this is still in the planning stage and im just trying to gather as much information as possible.I dont really want comments like change your engine or dont waste your time as ultimately this is my decision,not yours and Im intrested in a BOT,not swapping my engine.All others are welcome to discuss,help,give constructive comments and learn together.

Forgot to add, intially im looking for a modest 0.3bar of boost.Sounds pathetic,but i wanna learn to walk before i can run..

Does anyone know where I can get a paint job for my manifold that can resist high temperatures? should be rated about 600F or above. Among the options are paint,ceramic coating,Chrome/nickle plating, powder coat,sandblast..

Does anyone know where it can be done and the cost involved?

Melaka just as in KL has seen an increase in Police/jpj activity as hari raya nears. A common road i use to travel to town would usually take 5minutes now takes almost 45 mins because of multiple roadblocks and police cars pulling me over for no apparant reason.

Last week was pulled over by RELA roadblock and had a full car check,they even asked me to open my head unit case to look inside.After realising my documents were all right,the @$$hole asked me if he should saman me.I asked him back what authority RELA got to saman motorist and he let me away.

Today i finally received love letter from a bunch of street dogs wearing blue uniforms.My passenger wasnt wearing seatbelt as i just came out of a restraunt and drove unto a service road.The dog barked loudly and said "Kalau saya saman sekarang,rm300.You rasa mau bayar atau macam mana?"
Told him tulis saman,senang cerita.
RM300.

Will a simply diy cleaning with degreaser and wd-40 be enough or need some heavy duty cleaner?

Adjusting Clutch

Hi guys,anyone know how to adjust your clutch pedal so that you dont have to press on it so much to change gears?

I dont mean adjusting the freeplay which just have to tighten the nut,i mean u need to only press it a bit to change gears as mine currently need to push the clutch pedal in almost 4-5 cm..

Hehehe as u can see,every few months when i save some money i do up my ICE or when i see a good deal..since im just projecting on this car,been messing around with a lot of different components and when i dont like it i just rip it out and sell to my frens then buy new ones.What i can say is i love this setup for metal and rock songs and the sub really kicks a$$ massively.Took quite some time to find nice front comp speakers as i was using Sony xplod 2-way (hated it) and dynaquest rear mid-bass (hated that as well)

Now nid to shop for new amp cuz the v12 is really bullshit.Its not even close to putting out 480W total as compared to its 1000W stated (was a noob when bought it few yrs ago) and it overheats like an oven when used for 30 mins on normal volume.

To all noobs and low budget shoppers, dont ever buy V12 amps cuz they suck big time.save a bit more money buy a better unit.Any1 can recomend a good unit to power my sub? i tink 200 rms 400 peak..

oh if ne1 needs to know how to diy the above stuff can ask me since i do all my car work myself.dont trust shop felas.Glad to help out fellow lyn diy-ers

Sub mounting: cone facing outward or inward?

Hope some sifus here can clarify the difference between mounting the subwoofer with the cone facing outwards (like how we normally see) or the cone facing inwards (facing the inside of the box).Whats the difference in the sound and whats the effect, better power handling,more BOOM etc.

I experimented on my cheapo PC sub and i think the cone facing inwards seems more powerful than the standard setup...not too sure tho..
