Maxis Hotlink has just started providing FREE INTERNET access at 64kbps (unlimited).
Has anyone tried yet?

New #Hotlink sim pack will cost just RM8.80, with RM5 preloaded airtime.

But existing Hotlink user who are planning to change/migrate to this package can do so by dialing *108*25#, but please be aware that it's not totally free to convert.
There's a one time charge/fee of RM5. It's written in their Terms & Conditions, in which seldom people would read completely, and it's written at the end of the page.

It's written under section "Migration of existing Hotlink Plan to #Hotlink Plan" #2...
"Successful migration to #Hotlink Plan will incur a fee of RM5. Account lifecycle Active Period will be according to the customer's existing lifecycle at the point of migration. The new Deactive Period under the #Hotlink Plan is 50 days."

FURTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING THE #HOTLINK PLAN

Customer Lifecycle

The amount of top-up will determine the number of active-days to make calls, SMS, and access to FREE basic internet.
After the Active Period ends, customers can only receive incoming calls and SMS'.
Top-up to resume full services. Failure to top-up before the end of Deactive Period will result in line termination.
#Hotlink Plan gives you 50 days of Deactive Period.

Migration of existing Hotlink Plan to #Hotlink Plan

All existing Hotlink customers of any plan can migrate to #Hotlink plan, except for Hotlink Youth Club, Hotlink Campus Edition, Hotlink Kelantan, Hotlink Terengganu, Hotlink Sabah, & Hotlink Sarawak Plan.
Successful migration to #Hotlink Plan will incur a fee of RM5. Account lifecycle Active Period will be according to the customer's existing lifecycle at the point of migration. The new Deactive Period under the #Hotlink Plan is 50 days.
Upon successful migration to the #Hotlink Plan, migration to other Hotlink Plans are not allowed.
Active10, Hotlink 5, Hotlink 10, Validity 90, and Validity 365 are not applicable to #Hotlink Plan.

FREE Basic Internet

'Basic Internet' refers to internet at reduced speed limited to a maximum of 64kbps.
Basic Internet is FREE over the Active Period only, applicable to all customers on #Hotlink Plan.
All customers are subject to a monthly Fair Usage Policy of 3GB on FREE basic Internet. Upon exhaustion of the maximum quota, Basic Internet services will be disconnected.
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) sharing & Internet tethering is not allowed on Free Basic Internet.
The terms and conditions for Mobile Internet (available on the Hotlink website at [www.hotlink.com.my]) shall apply and be binding upon you.
