Today i went to the maxis center and a lady confonted me

I told her im interested in the i data

She told me that i must have a postpaid plan and i must buy the iphone?

I cant believe this so asking you guys if

1) i can still be a prepaid user and use idata
2) i can use idata without buying the iphone
