Bold 9000 will not turn on

hi guys, i sold my bold 9000 just yesterday to a mutual friend. Today he called me saying that it can't be turned on, and that the red LED blinks 3 times, stops blinks again, stops, and this goes on forever. i'm sure its not the battery prob because i just chrged it yesterday.

The funny thing is that the phone was working perfectly well yesterday, even after i removed my simcard. I still was able to turn it on for him, before i passed it to him. Apparently he turned it off, inserted his own simcard, and the problem started from there.

so guys.. what could the problem be? i'm quite sure its not simlock, because my bold cant be turned on at all. :S
