Advice for two routers or one?

Hi guys,

Been trying to google around but couldn't find anything concrete.

I'm planning to have quite a lot of smart home devices in my home in the future (lights, cctv etc). Instead of running a single router, i'm planning to use a second router just for all my smart devices to reduce the load on the main router. Can you guys give me some advice on how i can set the network up? Or do you guys have any other ideas or recommendations?

Currently thinking of -

Modem -> 1st router (phone, pc, console, more personal/private gadgets etc) -> 2nd router (smart lights, cctv, tv etc)

Or is it better if i just get a high end router to connect everything to? This will probably mean I'll be runninng at least 3 SSIDs on 1 router.
