How to Use Twitter to Generate Leads that Converts to Cash and Credibility

Many of us have been talking about Twitter and have heard buzz about how powerful it is. I have discovered that Twitter is an effective lead generator and a brand builder for any business, whether offline or online.

Before any meaningful leads can be generated, this is how we can make sure we get the right conversation going and build an effective following for your business. Here are the 5 steps which I have found to be great formula to follow when you market on Twitter.

1. Understand Tweet Etiquette
The first thing you would need to do to in Twitter is to have a little respect for other people's Tweet space and do not spam. If your profile shows that you are following more people than have more followers following you, it may just put people off. So, make sure your ratio of followers and followings is close to 1 to 1. Maks sure your tweets are also natural and not robotic and generated by software.

2. Follow Before You Tweet
It pays to follow other people first before you begin to tweet. Choose the people which is within your target market to follow and begin to read their tweets for a few days and see the styles of their tweets. Once you have done that, you can also begin to find your niche and own style before you begin to tweet.

3. Join Conversations To Listen
You can also look at the public replies which is happening between Twitter members with the "@username" tweets. Begin to join the conversation and engage using this method to get people to notice you, but make sure your tweets are not too commercial and to hard sell.

4. Be Interesting and Intriguing
You can tweet about what you are working on, what you are thinking about a particular issue, what you have accomplish or even some funny expression or quotes to gather interest to your Twitter profile. You can also ask questions on a particular issue that you need help with to engage the Twitter crowd. Make sure your projects or issues are relevant and interesting enough to them.

5. Learn to Drive Behaviour with Your Tweets
YOu can also make time limited offer tweets to make your followers take action. Inject some level of scarcity and maintain a consistent tweet to condition your audience to know when you are opening up offers and when you will be closing them. This will keep your Twitter audience on their heels and begin to take action due to your scarce promotion and offers after engaging them through conversations.
