Deco M9 Plus cannot connect to Unifi

Hello All,

Realised that suddenly at noon today my Deco M9 lost its connection to unifi.

Checked the huawei btu and there wasnt any red light for LOS so i assumed the fibre is still ok.

Had several calls with Unifi support but they were not able to help. Asked for a reset of the PPPoE password thinking that was the issue. Got the new password, put it in the configuration in the Deco app but still no luck.

Been searching both the tp-link and lowyat forums for answers and tried several suggestions like:

- changing vlan from TM Unifi settings to custom settings to disable IPTV port
- tried without any vlans
- tried to manually configure the vlans and not use the preset TM unifi settings that came with the firmware

I am on 1.6.2 firmware with my M9 Plus being a Version 1 for hardware. Checked and saw that was the latest version.

Reset both Deco units and swapped the main unit but still cant get it to work.

Hope to get some ideas while waiting for the technician to visit

Edit: forgot to mention that i found the old tm unifi modem that was given ( the crappy version where if more than 4 device connect it will crash). Tried to setup there to connect but it doesnt work there either

Hello fellow LYN forumers,

I am interested in attending and completing a CPR+First Aid course. I googled and found one under Red Crescent Society Malaysia and Firstaidtraining.com.my.
I am a bit unsure on which is the best option/place or if those places has the updated guides for CPR+First Aid
My main interest is so that I can be ready when an emergency happens at home especially for my kid.

If someone that has attended or can recommend a center that offers this training, it will be very helpful
Location is Selangor/Kuala Lumpur.

Thank you in advance.

Budget Unifi Router Replacement

Hello Sifus,

I would like to ask for some advice on which product to go for. I want to replace the existing stock TM Unifi Router which freezes and does not have good wireless coverage.

Some information on my location and connected equipment:

1. 2 Laptops on Wifi
2. 4 Mobile devices on Wifi
3. A gaming console
4. A Desktop

I am staying in a 2 storey house and the Router will be located in the upstairs hall.

I am mostly using the internet for:

1. Work
2. Stream videos
3. Downloading movies and series
4. General surfing
5. Gaming (not much nowadays since I had a kid)

Future plans (this is way into the future, i may end up buying/needing another router, so the budget router now can exclude these points):

1. CCTV
2. NAS
3. Media Player
4. Smart TV

I have been reading reviews for the TL-WDR4300 and DIR-850L since they provide the most bang for my buck.
But been reading thru the forums here in Lowyat and saw that a few users actually recommend the Asus routers.

I do not plan to upgrade my connected equipment anytime soon so I do think the "N" / "AC" Wireless Networks will not be utilized but its always nice to have that option.

It does beg the question if the basic Asus routers outperforms the TL-WDR4300 and DIR-850L and in terms of durability etc.

I hope someone can help shed some light on this subject.
Many thanks in advance.

Laptop Recommendations

Hi LYN Gurus,

Need some advice and recommendations on which brand and model of laptop that I should get

Budget: around RM 2.5K
Usage : Normal and possibly some Light Gaming( Nothing in the region of running Far Cry jsut enough to maybe play Simulation Games like Rollercoaster Tycoon )
Factor to consider : Durability

Please help me recommend a few laptops.

Theres another thing: I have been walking around Lowyat and they brought up an interesting fact/fiction ; Laptops have Grades ( as in Grade A for good and Grade C for just OK) for their build qualities. Is that true or just marketing talk by the respective salesmen?

Looking forward to be enlightened by the wealth of knowledge LYN Gurus and Taikos are willing to bestow on me

Thanks
