I went window shopping for watches and was looking at some of the Rolex Submariner line up. Was wearing the OSD 300m SEL02002B0.
Compared my watch to 126660, 126600, 124060, 126610LN and 116610LN. The only watch that matches in size is the Deepsea. It is slightly thicker than the OSD 300m but with 13 times the depth rating! An engineering masterpiece.

While trying out the Deepsea, another saleslady who was passing by remarked "That Deepsea looks good on you. Not many people can pull that off." A nice compliment.
She was also intrigued by the OSD 300. "What watch is that?" Explained to her that this is an old out of production Orient Pro Saturation Diver. "They don't make watches like these anymore." I added.

Nowadays, isolation period shorter?
Symptoms not that bad, had vomiting and coughing on the morning of the first day, now feverish, occasional dry cough with abdominal pain though.

Born on January 8th 1935 at 4:35 am in Tupelo, Mississippi, USA. He would be 88 years old today. Sadly he passed away on August 16th, 1977 at a young age of 42 due to heart attack from his drug addiction to barbiturates and unhealthy eating habits.

Former Pope Benedict XVI dies at 95

Former Pope Benedict XVI has died at his Vatican residence, aged 95, almost a decade after he stood down because of ailing health.
He led the Catholic Church for less than eight years until, in 2013, he became the first Pope to resign since Gregory XII in 1415.
Benedict spent his final years at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery within the walls of the Vatican.

His successor Pope Francis said he had visited him there frequently.
The Vatican said in a statement: "With sorrow I inform you that the Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican.
"Further information will be provided as soon as possible."

The Vatican said the body of the Pope Emeritus will be placed in St Peter's Basilica from 2 January for "the greeting of the faithful".
Plans for Pope Benedict's funeral will be announced in the next few hours, the Vatican said.

It has been 22 years since the demise of 3Dfx. Thankfully, I'm still alive and kicking.

GL Quake with Voodoo 2 SLI. The difference these cards made with 3D graphics was simply amazing at that time. The cards are still around somewhere.

Found my long lost Voodoo 5500 back in October. Made in Mexico is a rarity these days.

Do you still have your Voodoo cards as a keepsake?

A hundred and twenty years ago today, the founder of the famous Levi's clothing company died. Interestingly he was born and died on the same date. FTR, I have never bought nor owned a pair of Levi's denims in my entire life.
Why? I dunno. Maybe it is fated that I don't own any clothing from his company. Anyway I don't think I'd miss anything from not owning a pair.

Trade Union

I would like opinions on this matter.

My peers have approached me for the last eight years in getting me to join a trade union. It would be nice to just join and become an ordinary member but my peers wishes me to join and they want me in the committee as the president. They trust that I have what it takes to take their work and salary issues, negotiate a new CA, etc to the management. Most importantly they trust that I won't sellout to the management.

Surprisingly, my name has been nominated by my peers during the election process over the years whom do not know that I'm not a member of the union.
I did make an effort to join once and gave my application form a few years ago through a committee member that has since resigned and it disappeared without a trace.
Even with that setback, my peers wants me to submit a new application, join as an ordinary member for 3 years before I am eligible for nomination.

There are perks that comes with the title but it comes with great responsibility overseeing the members spread in other branches in other states. If I want money, power and titles, I would have joined a long time ago and get into politics by now.

With so much support, respect and trust from my peers, am I being selfish for declining to join?
