How to know if your identity has been stolen?

This survey has been there for awhile:

http://www.unisys.com.sg/about__unisys/new.../20070805_1.htm

The top 3 concerns of Malaysians in May 2007 retained the same ranking as in September 2006.

* 77% of Malaysians say they are extremely or very concerned about unauthorized access to or misuse of their personal information
* 76% say they are extremely or very concerned about other people obtaining their credit and or debit card details
* 72% of Malaysians say they are extremely or very worried about the prospect of a health epidemic

I'm also quite concern too. How can I know if someone use my identity to get a bank loan, credit card, marriage, etc?

As for bank loan and credit card, I come across this from CCRIS of BNM. Is this report good enough?

http://creditbureau.bnm.gov.my/index.php?ch=7&pg=12&ac=18
