WTB Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd (R1)

Is there anyone carrying in/importing an R1 version of this game? I have an american account registered on my Vita and all my Vita games are R1 anyway, so it's a general rule that I only buy R1 games for my Vita. Needless to say, I'll want to purchase the DLCs for this game so I really need an R1 version. I've been looking for it for the past few days but couldn't find a dealer that sells an R1 version.

I need help.

I am not complaining against a specific forumer, but against a whole game store... I'm not sure if this is where I should post but it is a helpdesk so I figured why not, since I do need advice if there's anything I can do or if I should just treat this as a lost case. If I'm doing this wrong, mods feel free to move/remove this thread...

For the TLDR people, a short version of the story: Playtime Electronics (Bangsar Shopping Centre) is pretty much being indifferent towards my case, bought a PS3 from them, PS3 broke down after 3 months, sent it in for warranty services, absolutely NO contact for almost two years, suddenly they say "PS3 is disposed already lol". Yes, that's pretty much their attitude.

Long story:

So I was surveying the Games subforum for the best PS3 deal around August 2010. It didn't take me long to find a thread with a representative from playtime giving quite a good deal for White, slim 160gb ps3 for RM1130. I immediately made a deal and proceeded to the shop to purchase not long after. At first things were good, but after three months (November) the PS3 decided to die on me for no apparent reason. So I sent it in to the shop again, they said they would send it to Sony Singapore for warranty claim. I asked how long would it take expecting a month at most, and one of the guys simply said they can't really know, there's been a customer who had to wait a year for their PS3 and they have had a mouthful from that customer for taking so long. Having heard that, I decided that I should just wait patiently for it for now. As per usual, they gave a receipt, asked for my number to which I gave two, mine and my mother's just in case.

Skip to almost a year later, some time around June 2011 IIRC, went to the shop again and asked if my PS3's done. They checked it and said no it's not done yet so I was like seriously? 8 months? What could be taking so long? Then I just told myself to just wait a bit more, went off to buy an XBOX at this point since I've got 3 months with nothing to do until September. Come august, I PM'ed playtime's representative here asking about it again, and he said still pending from Sony Singapore... Sony singapore taking their sweet time blablabla.. I still have the PM even now.. He said that once he has any news he'll contact me ASAP.

And skip to almost a year later again, I PM'ed him again March this year, asking the same thing. I even scanned my receipt to present it to them here. He said he'll check with his boss/technician and get back to me later, which he never did. After 3 days, I asked him again what's up? And never got a reply.

Finally last week I went to the shop with the receipt and they're saying "lol this isn't our receipt. but we'll check anyway." apparently because they've changed their receipt design now. They asked me for my number and said they would contact me within 3 days, which they never did again. So I went again yesterday and had to face the news that "lol your ps3 has been disposed". The guy showed me this T&C thing that apparently if they hold a console for more than 6 months they have the right to dispose it since they dont have the space to store it. The thing is, I saw that those T&C things are only applicable after October 2011, if memory serves right, which doesn't apply to me since I sent it in way before. After a short outburst by my mother and I due to their total lack of concern (they were like "there's nothing we can do". "already referred to boss, nothing can do" bla bla bla) I had to leave the shop before I get way too emotional. The worst thing to me was we didn't even get an apology, well we did if you would consider a condescending, sarcastic "maaf ye, jangan marah ye" (which was said as we left the shop) as an apology.

So my question is, at this point, what can I do? I know this shop is rather reputable and many LYNners would vouch for it and this small plea from one person would perhaps have no effect whatsoever on their attitude, but seriously, what am I to do? I pretty much got ripped off of RM1k, it may not seem like a big deal but as a student, that's a pretty huge amount to me... Is there anything I can do or should I just treat this as a lost case and move on?

I've always found it ironic how the customer is always right, but almost always loses...

Edit: Just remembered something, I guess somewhere along the way, or all the way along the way (I'd think it's the latter) someone didn't do their job right as the guy yesterday said they didn't even have my PS3 registered in their database or whatever.

First, hi! Been a while since I used lyn. Anyway to make things short:

Can anyone please recommend me a good, reliable, reputable PC builder you know. I don't mind if he's just a tad expensive as long as he's reliable and reputable, that's the most important part. Please, no self-advertisement "I can build a PC cheap!", but self advertisement "I'm quite reputable; the following are testimonials from fellow forumers;" is allowed

Anyway, here's the catch: I am currently overseas and will not require this PC builder's service until at least June next year. So please don't be pissed off, it's just that I'm kind of excited and impatient to take this swerve of a notion from being a casual handheld gamer to a PC gamer. So I ask now so that I can keep tabs of who to look for right away when I come back to Malaysia next year, don't want to be wasting time asking then because I'll only be staying in Malaysia for around 3 months then. That's also the reason why I can't bother to learn how to build a PC myself (partly because I'm lazy, mostly because I can't afford the time spent on DIY's).

Okay, so I don't know jack about PC building, nor do I actually know much about PC parts. I do know what I want though, and I will require (professional) advice to help me get by in completing a blueprint of my future gaming PC. Okay I think I've written a bit too much, to summarise now:

I want someone to build me a PC with a recommended i7 proc, and possibly GTX580 as the GPU. Now that's all I know, I dunno what mobo has to go with these, how much RAM I actually need, etc2 so this is the part where I need your guidance. I'm pretty sure with GTX580 I should pretty much be able to play all current and future (2012) games at full settings without problems?

Budget, would RM6000 suffice? I've looked around a bit and noticed that the actual expensive parts of a gaming PC are the GPU and the proc. Not sure though, again, need guidance.

Ok, shoot! Sorry for the long post, I suck at summarising things.

The main things I'm looking for are:
1) HD Video Recording (VERY IMPORTANT!) and good camera
2) Good audio quality
3) Sleek/Stylish design
4) 3.5mm earphone jack/USB
5) Physical qwerty keyboard or good, responsive touchscreen keyboard
6) Decent Internet Browsing/WIFI

That's pretty much it I guess. Initially I was looking at XPERIA X10 and Samsung WAVE but both might be a bit too expensive to fit my budget...
Currently I'm eyeing SE Vivaz Pro since it seems to fulfill all my initial requirements, however having read bad things about it (outdated OS, Symbian - dead end, video record with low audio volume, annoying UI etc.) I'm beginning to wonder if its pros outweigh the cons.

Think I should get the Vivaz Pro, or is there anything else around the same price, with equal or better looks, and better functionality?

Need help with my laptop before I call up Dell.

So it was a peaceful Friday afternoon when I was watching movies my with my friend. Halfway through, the movie starts to lag and act sluggish (sangkut-sangkut) I thought it was just a problem with the file itself, or my MPC acting up, so I decided to reboot my laptop. Took an abnormally long time before it finally shuts down, and when I turn it on again, a problem arose. "Windows failed to start properly" - I had two options; Start windows normally or Launch startup repair (recommended). The former option does not help, as after attempting to start windows for about 10 minutes it just goes back to the same screen, leaving me with only one choice: startup repair. Well, after choosing startup repair, it brings me to a blue screen, the default windows startup screen with nothing but the cursor. It remains this way for an hour, before the startup repair wizard finally shows up. Then it kept repairing for 12 hours (I had to sleep overnight) before it would go to the log in screen. I typed in my password, another 10 minutes before my desktop shows up. The computer then runs 20x as slow, I tried everything I could at this point, wanted to system restore but I don't have a restore point. Tried running quick scan with malware bytes, no threats detected. Tried backing up my files, what normally takes around 10 minutes, takes 19 hours this time and errors come up while transferring so I can't really transfer.

I'm at a loss as to what to do, since this is the first time this happened to me. Do you guys have any idea what the problem might be? I tried googling but people are recommending stuff like CCleaner, registry cleaner and stuff, which don't seem to be viable options since I can only imagine how many days it would take to install stuff... I don't think it would help, either.

Please help... I already emailed dell about this but if I can fix this myself I would love to as I'm going back to college today so the soonest Dell can help me with this will be next week...

[WTA] Dell warranty service

My dell laptop suddenly broke down after two months "Windows failed to start properly" I tried everything I could do to the extent of my own computer knowledge and nothing helps, so I'm thinking of phoning up Dell since when I bought the laptop the salesman said Dell will send a technician to doorstep to repair. But I don't know which number to call, and I don't even know if they really send a technician to doorstep since at their website they said if can't repair through phone you have to send in the laptop to a service centre, of which none is close by my house. So what should I do?

So after 5 years my laptop finally died (not naturally though) and now I'm surveying current laptops and prices for a suitable upgrade.
I've been eye-ing the Dell Inspiron 14R for quite a while, mainly because of the design (damn sleek, I actually like the XPS designs the most but can't afford them =/) but when I look for reviews the main complaints seem to be:
1) Weird mouse pad (don't mind this, gonna use USB mouse)
2) Short battery life (Don't mind this either, gonna be plugged in most of the time)
3) Spotty Wi-Fi performance, now this is a big problem. I will mostly be using it for the internet so if the Wi-fi performance is nothing close to optimal then it's a clear no-no. Can anyone clarify this problem?

If the problems above are true then I might have to opt for other brands and models. Which is where you guys come in
I've never bothered to research about laptops in my 5 years of usage so I don't really know much about specs such as graphics card, RAM, processors etc. so it would help if you guys can recommend the best laptop mainly for internet usage, a lot of multi-tasking and some non-hardcore gaming (won't be playing the latest jazz with crazy graphical performance etc., I have my PS3 for that)

My budget will be around RM1.7K max...

Btw, when I said "upgrade" I mainly mean performance speed (my brain close to explode using this 256MB RAM desktop for the past few weeks) and from what I understand the processor and the RAM play the main roles in ensuring smooth performance speed... I've been reading that in this day and age I should only get dual core processors (are the intel i3's dual core? cos i've heard those are pretty good but I don't really see "dual core" anywhere in its name or specs) and RAM... Well I don't know about that, there are DDR2's and DDR3's, too many numbers have my neurones go haywire...

So yeah, please recommend!

Some DIY questions, and recommendations :D

So my decision to get a PS3 a while back has led me into hours of research; which inevitably led me to another decision; that is to enter the HD world.

After getting a PS3, I have planned to choose audio over video first so after long periods of googling I've decided to get a Logitech Z5500 to complement the PS3's ability to output 5.1 true surround. It seems that everyone is recommending this speakers set for the PS3, well, I'm just wondering, have you guys had better experience with other speakers? It will mainly be used for PS3 gaming, a lot of music and some movies.

After getting the Z5500 (or something else you guys recommend over it) I plan to get either an HDTV or just a monitor: depending on my budget then. I've read that Full HD is worthless without at least a 32", hell I've even read people saying that one will regret buying an LCD TV anything less than 32". But LCD TVs don't come cheap yet and I don't really watch a lot of TV and most movie watching will come from my laptop anyway which is why I considered buying a monitor, the Samsung B2230H. However the largest I've seen monitors go is 27" and I don't think that's big enough, even if it is it's quite expensive. Thoughts on this? Well this doesn't really matter since I'll be getting my video output last and I don't even know if I'll have the money for it then

About DIY, well, I live in a typical Malaysian house so my house is very close to my neighbours, I even feel guilty of running my 2.1 speakers at half of their volume in fear of disturbing their peace and as some of you might know the Z5500 outputs up to 500 watts... That's damn loud, and I seem to get the impression that running the set at low volumes limits its capabilities. So I was wondering how might I go about soundproofing my room to allow for higher volume from the speaker set? My years of experience going to jamming studios have had me told that the cover for eggs is good to absorb noise but goddamn that's ugly >_> Most jamming studios seem to use these layers of sponge on their walls to absorb the noise though. Well, can anyone suggest me an affordable way to soundproof my room without spending too much, and I don't know about room acoustics, will putting up these things that "absorb" noise make the speakers' quality suffer?

Thank you in advance for any sort of help.

LCD Monitor vs. LCD HDTV?

Well to start off, I have a somewhat dumb question. LCD monitors are cheaper than its TV counterparts right?

So I'm getting a PS3 soon, and to complement it, of course I need something that can at least produce 720p HD resolution... Right? I would love to just get a 32" LCD HDTV if I have the money but I'm in quite a tight budget here. I don't know if I should get a monitor or a TV. I don't watch a lot of TV, if I want to watch a movie I usually just watch it off my laptop which means if I got a TV it'd mostly be used only for the PS3 but if I got a monitor I can watch HD movies on it and stuff.

However, my family have been using CRT TVs for so long and don't seem to have the motivation to upgrade, so it's really up to me if I want my family to experience better TV-viewing. But if I got an HDTV, I would mostly only be able to play the PS3 really late at night when everyone's asleep, since my parents watch a lot of TV during the day. Now I don't mind staying up late, I usually do that during holidays anyway but holidays are hard to come by in my current college schedule so if I play the PS3 at night during weekends when I get back home from college I'd somehow ruin my healthy biological clock when I get back to college

What do I do?

OMG, not this again....

Alright before I start typing anything relevant to my question, please, this is such a boring subject but please bear with me as I am no rich guy! Again, PLEASE!!!

Lol.

That aside,

Wii vs. PS3..... and XBOX 360 at the side

Okay I know this has been done countless times, but for the first time I am put in a dilemma even after spending a whole day researching on the Wii!

So I've left the console world 5 years ago and moved on to handhelds. For the 6th gen consoles, I easily chose the PS2 over its two competitors. For handhelds, I easily chose both the DS and the PSP because I don't want to miss out on anything! Now I am put in a dilemma as I have only enough money to buy one console but don't know which to get. Or else I would've gotten both the Wii and PS3. Your thoughts?

Does anyone know how to get to Alamanda shopping mall by bus, if there is any? RapidKL preferred! I really would prefer not to ever board KTM again, but if it's come to that...

So like 2 years ago I bought an AZTECH WL830RT4 wireless router and it burnt out on me like a year ago. I barely used it anymore then since I was busy with school so I left it like that. But now that school's over and hol's coming up, I will be in need of a new router and since I left this jazz for quite a while already, I already forgot pretty much everything about it, like the B G N thingie and stuff, so I need recommendations.

So I'll just be using the router for my laptop (for which I need to buy a wireless adapter... Grr), my PSP for the casual browsing and possibly X-Link Kai, and for my N-DS just onlining. What would you guys recommend me to get? Apparently I need a b/g type since that's what my PSP is compatible with. As for rice range, I'd be glad to get one below 300 but something with quality, I don't want it burning out on me so soon O_O

Anyway that's it, thanks in advance for any sort of help, I will be out looking for my desired router this Saturday possibly.

Can anyone help?

I just bought a router a few days ago. It took me three whole days to get it working (could've taken an hour if only I knew where to look >_>), then I started playing online with my DS. There were problems connecting, I can't connect if I sit right next to my router. I have to stay approximately 10 metres from it. Then, I can't move my DS around while playing online cause it would disconnect so suddenly. Even on a flat surface, it still disconnects from time to time

I did a bit of research, and I still don't know how to solve the problem, but now I have a bigger problem... When I connect the router, the LAN LED on my modem wouldn't light up. But according to the network connection, I am connected to LAN. But sure enough, I can't access the internet. The Internet LED on the router also wouldn't light up. To connect to the internet, I need to disconnect my router and only use my modem.

I've been trying to troubleshoot this problem by myself, to no avail. I don't even know if it's a hardware or a software problem. Maybe the router's internet port is busted? Or maybe it has to do with its settings? But it worked before... For now, I'm assuming it is hardware problem, and I was thinking about sending it in and get a new one or something. But I need your opinions first. Do you think this is fixable? If it is, can anyone guide me step by step? Thank you in advance for any kind of help.

Oh, and if it would help better, my router is Prolink model WGR1004.
