4 months dilemma

Hi,

I will be back to ipoh for 4 months and then flying back to Singapore to slave myself. I need internet for computer games in Ipoh, so i guess unifi is the go choice. After checking it seems the best choice for me is to take unifi plan and after 4 months just pay the termination fee. Any other cheaper solution?

Computer science course in Ipoh?

I am 30+ and currently working.

I did some advanced programming diploma back when i was young but incomplete due to personal problem.
Now i wish to complete it and was looking for quality college in Ipoh that is offering the course.

I can only do this part time as i am working. The only course i can find is wawasan open uni but i heard it was an online course but i prefer to attend classes.

can someone offer me some options to consider?

router address same with modem

i am using modem riger db102

i recently flash the firmware of the router Dlink-600

after flashing i realized the ip address to access the router is the same with the db102 = 192.168.1.1

When is use the 192.168.1. i can only access the modem but not router.

Anyway around this?

Router: D-Link

Problem details
I install a router and set my connection to auto connect from the standard dial up, pppoe then username and password and then i set up the router like the manual.

Everything went well, i start my starcraft 2, play a game, 3 minutes into the game i got you are dropped and instantly i was reconnected back to the server like someone just switch off and instantly switch back my connection. It happened for 2 days.

I unplug router and use only the db102 modem with direct cable connection and same thing happened with my game.
I changed the pppoe connection to pppoa (manual dial-up) and the game went smoothly.

Is there something i need to change in the setup?

i just baught a toshiba portege pda phone in PC fair. it boost 3g and wifi capability. I am working in a cheras area near permasuri which does not have a wifi and i need to access the internet constantly for my work.

Q : What is the best package out there for internet connection for pda phone? can someone pls help as i need to get the connection soon and there I cant find the forum section here.

hardware available :
1. aztexh 4 ports router
2. Billion TM ADSL Router
3. Artnet 8 ports Switch Hub
4. Cable....

isp : streamyx package

Current : only one pc can connet with dial up password

Question : how do i set the line to 24 hours and what to set so that all the 4 pc in my house will have connection at the same time?
Someone fixed it once for me by setting something from the modem ping, i paid him rm60 +_+. How can i do it myself?

any suggestion is greatly appreciated

XP reinstalltion halt midway

This morning i tried to install Vista Transformation Pack 7 after reading the forum.
During setup it required me to change my user32.dll following a guide in a forum in order for it to work
So i did.
When i restart it just black out after the loading screen.
So i reinstall my window xp service pack 2

during installing devices around 80%, the monitor will black out for like 1 second then window installation will come back, cursor still moving but it will just be there and the cpu aint moving as the light stop flickering.

i tried f5 and f8 to boot but all will end up continuing the installation and will stop at the same screen. there is no way to escape the installtion.

i dont have floppy drive thus unable to create a dos boot and i have all my clients information in my desktop.

at least let me save the files.

please help
