JOHOR BAHRU - Polis percaya perasaan dendam termasuk berkaitan penolakan cinta antara motif pembunuhan pelajar perempuan Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, 16, di sebuah sekolah menengah di Yong Peng, Batu Pahat, Sabtu lepas.

Ketua Polis Johor, Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad berkata bagaimanapun, motif berkenaan masih diperhalusi menerusi siasatan yang sedang dijalankan.

"Polis percaya motif pembunuhan adalah akibat perasaan dendam suspek terhadap mangsa termasuk berkaitan penolakan cinta suspek dan menjalinkan hubungan dengan kawan baik sendiri.

"Bagaimanapun, perkara ini akan diperhalusi dalam siasatan yang masih dijalankan,” katanya pada sidang media di sini hari ini.

Beliau berkata suspek lelaki berusia 16 tahun yang ditahan bagi membantu siasatan merupakan rakan sekelas mangsa dan setakat ini tiada individu lain dikenal pasti terlibat.

Ab Rahaman berkata sepanjang siasatan dari 4 hingga 8 Okt, polis membuat beberapa siri rampasan dan penemuan barang kes di sekitar Yong Peng, termasuk sebatang besi sepanjang kira-kira 96 sentimeter yang dipercayai digunakan untuk memukul mangsa.

Katanya, batang besi itu dibaluti tali leher berwarna biru pada bahagian hujung, dipercayai dijadikan sebagai pemegang untuk memukul mangsa.

"Berdasarkan laporan bedah siasat, kita percaya pukulan mengenai bahagian kepala, tetapi terdapat juga kesan pukulan pada badan, tangan dan beberapa anggota tubuh mangsa," katanya.

Beliau berkata polis juga percaya berlaku pergelutan antara mangsa dan suspek berdasarkan keadaan di lokasi kejadian yang menemukan meja dan kerusi terbalik selain sebuah pasu pecah, serta terdapat kesan menunjukkan mangsa cuba mempertahankan diri.

Bagaimanapun, katanya siasatan setakat ini tidak menjurus kepada pasu berkenaan digunakan sebagai senjata dalam kejadian itu.

Selain batang besi, antara barang kes dirampas ialah iPhone 13 Pro, baju jersi Mizuno, seluar panjang hitam, sepasang selipar Adidas, satu set dekoder jenama Alhua Technology, seluar sukan berwarna hitam serta baju sukan putih dan merah bernombor 27 yang mempunyai kesan dipercayai darah.

Polis turut merampas sebuah beg kanvas mengandungi peralatan tulis, beg galas mengandungi buku Matematik Tambahan dan kertas soalan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) tertera nama Irene Sofiya, sepasang cermin mata, anak kunci berlambang Yamaha, botol minuman Owala, tiga helai kertas kehadiran pelajar serta sebuah kalkulator Casio berwarna merah jambu.

Ab Rahaman berkata semua barang kes berkenaan telah dihantar ke Jabatan Kimia untuk analisis.

Ditanya sama ada terdapat cubaan merogol mangsa dalam kejadian itu, beliau berkata setakat ini siasatan tidak mengesan perkara berkenaan.

Beliau berkata suspek juga setakat ini tidak mempunyai rekod masalah disiplin di sekolah, manakala isu berkaitan keadaan mental remaja berkenaan akan diserahkan kepada mahkamah sekiranya dia didakwa dan perlu dirujuk untuk pemeriksaan psikiatri.

Katanya, siasatan mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan hampir lengkap dan kertas siasatan dijangka dirujuk kepada Pejabat Pengarah Pendakwaan Negeri Johor hari ini untuk arahan lanjut.

Pada 3 Oktober lepas, Irene Sofiya ditemukan tidak sedarkan diri dan berlumuran darah di sebuah dewan sekolah di Yong Peng kira-kira 5.50 petang sebelum disahkan meninggal dunia.

Susulan kejadian itu, suspek ditahan reman selama enam hari pada 4 Oktober lepas bagi membantu siasatan dan disambung enam hari lagi bermula esok. - Bernama

At a busy thoroughfare inside the European Parliament, passing politicians are now confronted with a grotesque and gilded vision of American power: an 8.5-foot-tall statue of President Donald Trump, naked but for a thin layer of 23-karat gold leaf.

“Trump likes gold,” said Danish artist Jens Galschiøt, the statue’s creator, over the phone after it was unveiled Tuesday. “In a way, I think he would like this sculpture.”

Titled “The Orange Plague,” the artwork has been installed in Strasbourg, France, the official seat of the European Parliament. The copper sculpture, also dubbed the “King of Injustice,” imagines the US president on the shoulders of a frail smaller figure. His thighs and sagging belly wrap tightly around the man’s head; his hands clutch at a long golf club and the scales of justice.

“I am sitting on the back of a man,” reads the text on the statue’s plinth. “He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except step down from his back.”

For Galschiøt, the work symbolizes what he sees as the US president’s threats to the environment and the rules-based world order. “Trump is destroying all the things I believe in,” he said.

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are entitled to host displays on parliament grounds, though all exhibitions must be approved by officials. Parliamentary rules prohibit events or exhibitions deemed “offensive or of an inflammatory nature or contradictory to the values on which the Union is founded,” or those that “undermine the dignity of Parliament.”

PENANG, Oct 2 — A 71-year-old man allegedly dragged an 18-year-old woman into the men's restroom of a shopping mall in Gurney Drive and forced her to perform sexual acts. The incident reportedly came to a stop only after alert members of the public noticed something amiss and knocked on the restroom door.

It is understood that the suspect works at a restaurant, while the 18-year-old victim is the daughter of his employer.
Following a police report, authorities launched an investigation and arrested the suspect. The man was brought to the George Town Magistrate's Court today for a remand application. Magistrate Selvaranjini approved a 7-day remand order, effective from today until October 8, to assist in police investigations.

🚨 Suspected of Taking Employer's Daughter to the Mall
According to available information, the incident is believed to have occurred yesterday (Oct 1) at around 4:30 PM.
It is reported that the man took the 18-year-old woman to a shopping mall along Gurney Drive.

While inside the mall, the man allegedly dragged the victim into a men's restroom on the 2nd floor, where he reportedly assaulted her and forced her into sexual acts.

Reports state that members of the public noticed unusual activity inside the restroom, approached the stall, knocked on the door, and questioned the occupants. This caused the incident to stop, allowing the victim to escape.

💵 Allegedly Gave Cash Afterwards; Victim Reveals Ordeal Upon Returning Home
Sources indicate that the man allegedly gave the woman a sum of cash after the incident before bringing her back to her father's restaurant located near the mall.

Upon returning home, the woman revealed her ordeal to her family, who promptly lodged a report with the police.
Following the report, police took swift action and arrested the suspect.

⚖️ Suspect Remanded for 7 Days
The suspect was brought to the George Town Magistrate's Court today for a remand application.
He is being investigated under Section 376 (Rape) and Section 377C of the Penal Code.

The court ultimately granted a 7-day remand order extending through October 8.
Upon leaving the courthouse, the man noticed members of the media filming and taking photos, and immediately covered his face with clothing to avoid exposure.
The case remains under police investigation. The suspect is currently remanded for investigation and has not been convicted by a court of law.
