Recently, a Talking Point viewer wrote in to us with exactly this concern! He’s worried about how often cooking oil is reused in food establishments here in Singapore.

Join host Diana Ser, as she investigates how often hawkers and home cooks are changing their deep-frying oil and if it is in fact safe to consume food cooked in this oil. So she sends reused oils for a lab test and confronts hawkers with the shocking results. A man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old

MUAR: A homeless man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at a night market in Kluang will be remanded pending trial.

Ho Khek Chung, 50, allegedly committed the offence on July 31, when the victim went to a night market with her mother to buy food.

As she passed the accused, he allegedly took the opportunity to sexually assault her.

The distraught victim related the alleged assault to her mother and they lodged a police report

Today, he pleaded not guilty in front of Sessions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat to the charge under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act for touching a child for sexual purposes.

Prosecution was handled by deputy public prosecutor Danial Munir who argued against bail citing the possibility that Ho would be hard to track down if released given that he is homeless.

Ho was unrepresented.

Abu Bakar granted the prosecution's request and scheduled Sep 10 for the next hearing.

The program was behind schedule as Dimona did not go critical until 1965. I don’t believe there was time to make enough plutonium, process it and test it by 1967. By contrast, a uranium bomb using a gun-type mechanism does not require a bomb test. But enriched uranium requires a large industrial infrastructure and power consumption which is easy to detect. So, in the short run, Israel opted for the quick and dirty path.
