Recent Ah Beng trend of 'popping' fart exhaust?

Honestly - sounds like sh*t lah, Uncle Ah Beng.

Especially when the driver very obviously keep trying hard to make that popping sound when driving (Hello, we can see you're purposely showing off your newly tuned purposely-popping exhaust).. And it's really not impressing anybody 😆

Nobody likes a "try-hard" type of show-off.. Just be cool dude! Uncle Beng needs to realize that when they are trying to poppopppoppop bang poppop fart poppop... The people in the cars around them aren't going "Wowww so coollll".... We really are just like "wtf sounds damn annoying wei", or just like "🤢".

Did the old ahbengs with neon lights and fart exhausts upgraded their cars already, after all these years, and found this new exhaust trend? 🤔

ACP vs. Old-school Roof Tiles Awning Durability

Front Porch Awning.

Main Concern : Durability.
Secondary Concern : Modern vs. Older Design

- Am sharing the cost of the awning with my mom. (My mom is living in the house, I am living outside at the moment. The house is my family's house, but I still want the house to be maintained.) I also recently got the house painted and small renovation to the front. Home is painted White and Gray exterior.

Issue :

- Me thinking to choose ACP (aluminium composite panel), because it looks more modern. And I heard ACP is durable, and won't crack/leak so easily in few years (unlike Polycarbonate).

- Mother thinking to choose old-school Roof Tiles (like the ones on most houses roof) , because she still thinks Roof Tiles last longer.

The only thing we both can agree on is we won't choose Polycarbonate, because it will crack/leak in a few years. Although Polycarbonate will have more light shine through.

In dilemma.... Should we go for Old-School Roof Tiles, or ACP awning?

Is Old-School Roof Tiles more durable than ACP ?
0xc000000F - NLS data is missing. Can't boot.

Bros, I screwed up.... I was ending my night yesterday after hard day's work. Turned off the pc and thought to try out my new arrived casing fan (something to relax with).. Connected it, boot up. The fan's LED flicked, and then looked like it was going to die. And suddenly saw a very brief BSOD blue screen before entering windows, and then pc auto-restarted.

Tried booting into safe mode, and brief BSOD again, and restarted. Happened twice. Then suddenly can't load anymore.

Now, no matter whichever option I choose in Safe Mode, it goes to this screen....

So so tired. Sigh. Last week already beed a bad week, and this happens. Really tired.

It can't be that the new casing fan did this , right?

... Anyway,

1) I tried booting from Windows USB to "Recover/Repair", but it says cannot be repaired.

2) I swapped SATA cables with my secondary hdd, but same thing.

3) This morning, I tried putting my Main windows HDD into a external HDD enclosure. And managed to load it and access it in my laptop. I quickly backup my work files first into my laptop.

- Question is now........ Is there any way I can repair/reinsert those missing files , using my laptop here ?
With what I have now, is there any way to repair/recover my hdd's issue?
Or is the only option to Reformat?

🙏 🙏 🙏

Withdrawing from Bursa Malaysia account

Hi ,

Can someone please help - I just need to know how do I withdraw balance from a Bursa Malaysia account?

This account belongs to my late father . My mother keeps getting the account statement letter for years but didn't open them,. I opened and checked it last week, and saw there is actually some balance in there (although not much). So i am thinking to help withdraw the balance and put it into her account, and close the account.

I saw there is a 'withdrawal form' thing on google, but considering this account is not mine, is there any other extra procedures that I need to know of?

I hope someone here can help me.. Because the incompetent Operator handling Bursa Malaysia's helpline keeps transferring my phone calls without even trying to help me. I think I called more than 10 times already.

Thank you 🙏

Looking for reliable replacement 2.5" Internal hdd

Hi tech pros! 👋 👋

Could someone please kindly recommend me a reliable 2.5" internal hdd for storage purpose? (Not external/portable)

I was looking in shopee, but i keep seeing hdd enclosures , and used hdds for sale. And so far only saw Western Digital brand, and Toshiba brand.. Are either of these 2 brand reliable? Or do you have a better brand to recommend?

500gb or below is enough for me.

My current 2.5" 100gb internal hdd is actually from an old broken laptop, which I salvaged the hdd , many years ago. Formatted it, and used it as a storage 100gb until now. Few days ago it started to have a "clicking" noise for 4-5 times whenever I boot up, I think it's time to replace it.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

Thinking of replacing ceiling of my home

Hi all !

Am thinking to replace the ceiling of my 2-storey Terrace home . It's the old type of ceiling (i believe it is asbestos?) , and I am just worried that my family is slowly breathing in the asbestos .. As it's quite old, some parts are damaged .

This type of ceiling:

Sometimes the "Musang/Civet" will somehow find it's way into my attic and start running around on the attic causing a racket , and light dust can be seen falling down from ceiling .. Guess I'm just mainly concerned about my family's health.

So far I only know 2 options :

1) Replace the ceiling with the same materials, new and undamaged . .. But read that it could be a serious health hazard if renovators need to remove, as the asbestos fibres will fly around.

2) Saw some recommendation to just paint the current old asbestos ceiling, and install Plaster Ceiling . (I also read that plaster ceiling, if damaged, is also a health hazard? I know it's debatable, as there's conflicting info about Plaster Ceiling) ...

3) _______________ (What other options do I have? Cement ceiling?)

[WTA] Do I need to change springs with absorbers?

Hi car sifus, hope you can spare a minute to advice me on this..

My car is nearing 80,000km .. 7 year old. Still on the original stock suspensions..
I always go slow on bumps/bumpy roads, and seldom do hard cornering.

Lately I have tried the speedbump-test, and the car only bounces once before settling back.. I'm not sure is it psychological, but I seem to feel my car not as 'stable' as before during high speed, and when switching lanes on highway.. I also notice that my car seems to be getting very slightly lower and lower , over the years. Now it's almost like lowered spring height (2 fingers)

Do I need to change the Springs along with the Absorbers? I was told that, for first time, I don't need to change the springs. Just absorbers will do. Is this correct?

Thank you! 🙏 🙏

(WTA) MaxisONE GO WiFi

Hi ,

Currently am in dilemma to sign up between Home Fibre 30mbps , and Maxis GO Wifi (sim card) , for my new rented place...

I like that the Maxis GO contract is only 1 year (because i'm not sure if I'll move out after 1 year or not) ...
Hi all.. I'm looking to rent a place to stay for 1 year.

All the cheapest Home Fibre from Maxis, Time and Unifi are minimum 2 years.. Is there such a home broadband which is 1 year minimum, with unlimited /or high bandwidth, per month?

I don't want to need to pay the penalty fees, if after 1 year stop renting..

And Maxis don't let me transfer my current Maxis Home fibre to the new place, saying it will refresh the 2 year contract again 😓😓

Thank you so much 🙌🙏

Is Respectful Street Racing Ethics DEAD ?

I do not condone dangerous driving or street racing. I expect lots of flaming coming from trolls and "holier-than-thou" replies.
But please do kindly stick to the topic, if possible. 99% of us have driven fast before on public roads, so if you are the 1% of saintly drivers, good for you.

OK, to the question .. Is Respectful Street Racing Ethics DEAD ?

I remember in the days where, to "initiate" a respectful race, you would either tailgate (not in a asshole manner), to get the front car to step on it, and go. OR you can pull up beside, give a friendly honk, maybe even wind down the window and wave to indicate to the other car to "go".

Admitting, I have done it a few times before, years back. Sometimes the other car would know how to respond, and we would have a friendly race, but we both will know when to STOP the race and let it go, when situations get dangerous (when other cars are about, or road conditions are not so good)

This is a FUN race anyway, not a ego-challenge. Then we'll just give friendly honks, maybe wave, and continue our own ways.

But sometimes, understandably, I would get misunderstood, and the other car would do some funny stunts, probably thinking I'm an idiot. LOL. So usually I'll just give friendly wave, and drive normally.

The BEST one I had, many years back, was with a guy in a modified CRZ . We were at a traffic stop, he was 1st, I was behind him, no cars around, only a bus behind me, straight road ahead. He revved. Once. Twice. Thrice. I revved back. Then, silence. Light turned green, and we had a nice short drag race, slowed down when we saw cars ahead. Passed him by, he was grinning and gave a very enthusiastic thumbs up. I thumbs up back.

Good times.

NOWADAYS?

Maybe I'm just unlucky in meeting weird drivers with modified cars.. But there are many who like to do "FLY-BY" (Meaning, they just come up beside you, and accelerate away , showing off their overly loud exhaust system.)
Most of the times even driving like assholes , cutting in and out in traffic up front to get as far away as possible after flying-by) .....

I'm like: Huh? I wasn't' even giving a f**k about you or noticed you coming up. Why not try racing me next time instead of just revving off like a p*ssy?

These type of cars range from local to import, to continentals. So I'm not judging any brands/models.

I'm not saying I have a very fast car, but I ENJOY challenging faster cars just to see how it goes, even if I get smoked. It is all good and fun! Better to race someone faster, and lose to know you tried, than to bully/show off to slower rides, right?
Of course... The most interesting part is when you "overtake", or match these "cars you thought were supposed to be faster"....

So.... How did street racing went from "respectful and fun" to "cowardly p*ssy-fying loud-exhaust show-off" ?

CHEERS!

(WTA) Data Prepaid Card for Singapore

Dear Travel Veterans,

Currently, which is the best way for mobile internet data when traveling to Singapore ?

I'm a Maxis Surfmore 50 user . - Maxis option for me is RM38/per day Roaming with 500mb of data . NO free calls/sms .

Is this a better option, or is there some prepaid card I can buy for Singapore data?

Do I buy it when I reach into Singapore bus station?

Or buy somewhere BEFORE I go to Singapore? (sorry if this is a stupid question, if it's not possible to buy before entering Singapore)

Hope somebody can advice me, as I'll be heading into Singapore on Saturday. Quite last minute post.

Thanks in advance!!

Police looking "logo" sticker on normal cars

Sometimes I'll come across some normal cars on the road. Not police cars at all.

But at the back of their car will have this kind of sticker . Sometimes "SA" or some other alphabets.. What do they mean? Or they just simply stick?

(circled in red)

If you are a Car Modification Enthusiast -

I would assume you are a car enthusiast. And maybe you are also into modifying your car, inside or outside.

Let's say, for this scenario:

You are cruising on the middle lane, minding your business, and you see a tastefully modified car on the road(not ahbeng style), coming up from behind, or front.

Do you respect and admire the car, if it is:

A) Driving past your car, cool as f*ck, and just being mutually cool.

OR

B) If the driver purposely rev past your car, plainly showing off. (This type of car most probably have fart-cannon exhaust sounds.)

Which type of car/driver do you respect/admire on the road? Driver Type A, or B?

**

NOTE: Let's say it is ANY car. May be more expensive than yours, or maybe even cheaper than yours. As long as it is tastefully modified, non-ahbeng style. (Let's keep the ahbeng/ricer style cars out, they don't deserve to be mentioned here. )

This was a topic of conversation between friends, but would just like to know more opinions.

Is now a bad time to invest in properties?

I consulted a friend about investing in properties.

But my friend strongly advice (and she quoted her friend's advice) that now is not a good time to invest in properties, because the pricing for properties are currently at it's "Peak". (High pricing)

I'm skeptical of this claim. If it's at it's 'peak' pricing/cost now, why are people still buying/investing in properties?

Everything will always seem to be at it's 'peak' all the time, it's up to us whether we want to take action.

Hope to hear from the more expert property investors here.

Thank you!

Windscreen chip + small crack

A stone hit my front windscreen yesterday, noticed a small chip. But also noticed a crack underneath.

The windscreen specialist said can't say whether the crack will get bigger, because it already have a crack. They quoted me RM50-RM100 for repairing it.

From your experience, will it get bigger? Repair needed?
