Hello.

I’m applying for a scholarship to Germany.

I am required to upload my “high school graduation certificate or equivalent”.

Initially I assumed it’s the SPM cert from the Lembaga Peperiksaan. Or is it the Sijil Berhenti Sekolah?

Anyone who has applied for scholarships abroad can shed some light?

Picking a major to start my degree.
Is Accounting still a safe career choice?

On JobStreet, listings for Accounting graduates is high in number.
On the other hand, many individuals claim AI will replace a significant number of accountants.
Private universities appear to actively advertising accounting. I assumed there are too many accounting graduates thus creating a supply-demand imbalance?

If you’ve done Actuarial Science in either one, would you share your experience?
Can you provide a comparison on Actuarial Science in Taylor’s VS Sunway?

I went through the prospectus. Taylor’s has more subjects in total, related to finance/economics. Sunway has subjects like English, Communication Skills, Entrepreneurial mindset on top of the MOHE mandatory subjects.

Anyone did Foundation and Degree at two different universities?

Do private universities accept Foundations from elsewhere or they’ll make you take additional subjects first?

INTI is giving out free foundation/diploma courses if you’ll pursue your degree there as well(pay the foundation fee first. When you start degree, the amount you initially paid will be deducted)

I’m still a tad bit skeptical. Will there eventually be hidden fees?

No co curricular/community service for MPU subjects? Also FIVE MPU subjects??

The foundation is a bit of a stretch. Too many unnecessary subjects like “introduction to sociology(?)” rather than focusing on the stream.

Anyone currently studying/studied in MMU? (Cyberjaya)

Are the facilities/equipments in a good condition? Their fees are cheaper than other private universities, I wonder why.

The co curricular. Counted in CGPA? Is it every week?

Boys:Girls ratio? Don’t get me wrong. Love bois but I’m a Computer Science girl, just wondering how many girls there’ll be. (Speaking from experience, if boys who aren’t interested in studying are your classmates, screw your university life)

Going through the course structure I’m seeing community service and co curricular(some uni has either one, the others have both).

Co curricular, don’t tell me it’s like during school days…..
Marching around and attending clubs(I found them pretty useless).

Graphic Design

Advices and suggestions are very much appreciated. Especially if you’re familiar with the field.

I’m about to enroll into university. I’m thinking about a degree in Graphic Design. I don’t want to be unemployed after graduating or end up working at a completely different field.

Is the graphic design industry saturated? What does the future of graphic designing look like in Malaysia? How skillful do you have to be in designing to secure a job overseas? Any other career paths related to designing that might have a big demand in the future?

(I do want a degree. Not looking to just learn skills online)

Computer Science

Hello. Advices, suggestions and opinions are very much appreciated. Especially if you’re familiar with the field of Computer Science.

I did 2 semesters of Diploma in Computer Science(Information Technology) a few years back before calling it quits.

Enjoyed the programming and the Math very much. But absolutely disliked subjects like computer hardware, computer networks, systems.

I would like to get back to studying. Is there a course or a branch of Computer Science that would mostly be programming and Math only?

(This time, I’m going to a private uni instead. I’ll be able to do a foundation instead of having to sit through a diploma)

Anyone completed or is currently undertaking Bachelor’s in Patisserie Arts?

How is it? How much of pastries/baking/desserts do you actually learn? What about the internship, Taylor’s help you secure spots at high end restaurants? Any culinary events/competitions on the campus?

Even if you’ve completed/currently studying Diploma in Culinary Arts at Taylor’s, please share your experience it’d be helpful to me.

I’m a vegetarian. Been one for 8 years. Got no problem in handling meat but eating is a no no. Is there any subjects throughout the course where I’ll be forced to consume?

Hello.

I’m looking to enroll into a Culinary Arts course(Diploma).

Anyone who has done Culinary or is a Chef, which uni would you suggest? How were your experiences, how easy or difficult was it to get employed, and any tips/suggestions/advices?

What are your thoughts on Patisserie? Only 2 uni, that I could find, offer a Diploma in Patisserie(Cordon Bleu, too expensive. And Berjaya College).
Patisserie is what I’m more interested in but I’m afraid I’ll be at a disadvantage compared to the other Culinary Arts graduates who can cook main courses.
