Which path would you choose?

Hi Guys,

Am new to this forum and wishes to share my experience and situation I am facing now and if you were in my shoes, which would be your options?

Background

I am 37 YO working in a MNC FI for the past 12 years and recently made redundant as my role was moved out of country.
I was given options to either a) Internal transfer within the company or b) take severance package

Have attended few internal interviews mainly looking at higher level (promotion) as I have been stayed for the same rank for more than 2 years, but nothing is final yet. Not interested in lateral movement.
Also, have applied couple of external ones and attended few interviews but have not heard anything back.
Understand the current market situation is quite bad / timing since it's still early of the year.

As my timeline drawing near, though the package is attractive (12 months+ payout), would you choose to secure internal movement or take the package?

Bear in mind, I have family and children and other commitments.
