Early Retirement - Budget Template

Hello All,

Today is a public holiday so I thought of working on an early retirement budget.

Does anyone already have it? can share or at least let me know whats included?

I already have a template on what I have, basically EPF, SSPN, Stock, saving etc.

Trying to stimulate best, normal and worse case as well.

This is a project I am trying to work on. hopefully by next year it would be fulfilled.

Lately I have been listening to Youtube on people who retired early.

My motivation is primarily my kids. I want to spend more time with them and also, some would call it mid life crisis but I see it as clarity.

I dont want to spend my 40s to 50s at work and not enjoying life. Question that have crop up lately is "why would I spend my energy at work and not with my kids and family?" by the time I am back, I am already exhausted. I find better fulfillment doing errand and chores for my family than say, I dont know dinner with customer?

I dont want to look back when I am in my 60s to realize my kids have also grown up with no connection and too old to go for vacation.

those who have retired early feel free to advise. I valued it very much as someone how had walk the talk.

Best Chicken Rice

Hi guys,

I do like chicken rice be it roasted or steam. mainly because it's fast and unlike noodle which can take time to cook and hot (I am a fast eater)

I know of a place in near Subang that sells pretty good roasted chicken rice. but I am not sure if it's still around. It's the food court behind Main Place Mall (RAM Food Court).

if you know any nice chicken rice shop around Klang Valley please do recommend. thanks

Hello all,

Can give some recommendations on things to do at SA. specifically Cape Town and safari trip.

Plan to do it in July next year. Maybe 8-9 days.

I tried the travel thread but no response.

I welcome any suggestion especially those that have been there.

Usually I am quite ok will planning trip. But mostly in asia or cosmopolitan area. SA is very new to me.

Live and Gnd = 243V

Live and Neutral = 240V

Neutral and Gnd = 160V..

is this normal for Gnd and Neutral to be 160V?

but I check live to neutral is 240V

How does CC Travel insurance work

Morning.

These days if you charge you flight tickets to the CC they will give you free travel insurance.

Life, TPD, lost of luggage, drlay and many more.

"Up to RM2,000,000 Travel Insurance Coverage* when you charge your flight ticket"

Does anyone knows how it works? Just charge the ticket to that CC and thats it? Or do we need to pre-register to qualify?

Anyone claim before?

I used to give to charity. Not much but somehow along the way I stop. Reason was once I give one then somehow I am bombarded with WhatsApp from other charity asking for similar donation.

I want to restart this maybe to an orphanage. It would give me an avenue to give back and also not be too self absorb with my own small problem. I hope also to rub this to my younger kids.

So, are you all doing the same? What charity are you contibuting to and any suggestion?

Cousin from UK is here. this will be her last week in Malaysia. thought of bringing her to Tin Hat Kong tonight. is it worth it? anything worth doing there?

another alternative is Marini 57 or Ampang look out point.

or any other suggestion? she already spent like 2 weeks around KL. she has seen KLCC just thought that marini would be up close.

WhatsApp Gmail to iCloud

Hi guys.

Need a bit of guidance here.

1. I have been using Gmail for my WhatsApp account. So all my backup goes to there.
2. I am not subscribing to Gmail cloud service. Only 15GB
3. WhatsApp storage getting higher.
4. Don't want to subscribe more storage.
5. I have iCloud 50Gb

Can I change my backup from Gmail to iCloud?

Hi all,

here is my situation. I think I will probably needs Aussie dollar in the next say 5 years time. My plan is to convert some fix monthly amount.

I went to Maybank. They said FCA is only for :

1. If you have kids already studying there. need to show supporting document

2. Business

3. If you want to open a fix deposit with that denomination.

so no choice I chose option 3 (it was after much persuasion and haggling)

I asked, for option 3, I first have to convert from MYR to AUD. In five years time, I would like to send these money to Aussie. I asked do I need to convert back these FD from AUD to MYR. The bank officer said no need. can transfer my AUD directly to Aussie . She don't look convincing.
I just do not want to do a double conversion MYR-AUD-MYR-AUD when I cash out.

Anyone of you folk have experience with FCA in Malaysia?

in singapore it's so easy. I can just convert to any denomination without issue and restriction. In fact I can enable and perform all these transaction online. And can just use apps to make purchases overseas.
