Have you ever played MtG? Or the Shandalar Duels of the Planeswalker? There is now a free version of MtG game which has a single player adventure mode that allows you to collect cards along the way, build your decks and defeat AI opponents. It is called MtG Forge, which has almost 95% of all cards ever made.

As it is made by community so that adventure map graphics is nothing great. But MtG game is about the card duel anyway, and you can download the nice looking card images. The game is available for PC, Mac and Android.

Nowadays many games easily reaches 50GB or more. And storage is expensive nowadays so not much room to spare. How many games do you keep on your SSD usually?

Reactivating old desktop PC

Since RAM price and SSD price and so many PC components price all shooting up in cost recently, upgrading desktop is now very costly. So I looked at my shelfed collection and tried to boot them up to see if any of them are still working. I managed to boot up:

2012 desktop with AMD CPU and 8GB RAM running Windows 7
2015 desktop with Intel CPU and 16GB RAM running Windows 10
2018 desktop with Intel CPU and 32GB RAM running Windows 10

There are older desktops dated before 2010, which I am afraid to test because back then I was using no-name brand PSU, so those old desktop most likely will not survive a boot sequence. With the current memory price now, these PC are now valuable

What are the oldest PC that you are still using?

Usually when we talk about lizard, we refer to those small reptile crawling on the ceiling and wall. Today only I learn that the right term to use is actually gecko. Lizard is actually those bigger reptile usually found outside house and Chinese calls it four legged snake. Lizard cannot climb wall.

Vietnam lunar new year 2023

Many East Asia countries celebrate lunar new year, including Vietnam. However, to Vietnamese, this is the year of cat 🐱🐱🐱 instead of rabbit. Vietnam only shares 10 of 12 zodiac signs with Chinese zodiac. Instead of rabbit, Vietnam has cat. And buffalo in place of ox.

Newer gen cards all come with higher and higher requirements. Now Radeon wants 355 tdp. For me, I won't buy any GPU with tdp more than 250. How about you?

About CPU cooler

The last time when I built a PC, I got a nice looking Wraith Prism cooler from AMD. Nowadays even AMD no longer provide free cooler for their faster CPU already. It seems that you have to use a water cooling AIO cooler these days. But afraid to get leak after a few years and damage the expensive motherboard and GPU. Even if no leak the pump can fail after a few years also.

Compare to my old Pentium 4 desktop still can run after all these years. They really don't make long lasting PC anymore.

With that kind of speed, hopefully computer casing can become fully DIY friendly. Only power supply, cpu, motherboard and memory needs to be inside, the rest like HDD, GPU etc can all be connected via USB.
