Wagner fighters in Belarus move toward Suwalki Gap

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that reportedly over 100 mercenaries of the Wagner Group have moved towards the Suwałki Gap, a strategic stretch of Polish territory lying between Belarus and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.

Speaking at a press conference during his visit to the Bumar-Łabędy military plant in southern Poland, Morawiecki said that for the last two years, Poland has experienced a permanent hybrid attack on its eastern border with Belarus.

He added that this year alone there have been around 16,000 attempts to cross the border by illegal immigrants, who were “pushed to Poland” by Russian and Belarusian forces. he described the migration corridor as inspired by Russian and Belarusian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

“Now the situation becomes even more dangerous. We have information that over 100 mercenaries of the Wagner Group have moved towards the Suwałki Gap near Grodno in Belarus,” Morawiecki said.

According to PM, “this is certainly a step towards a further hybrid attack on Polish territory.”

“They will probably be disguised as Belarusian border guards and will help illegal immigrants to enter Polish territory, destabilize Poland, but they will also probably try to infiltrate Poland pretending to be illegal immigrants, and this creates additional risks,” Morawiecki explained.

In 2021, Poland experienced heightened migratory pressure on its border with Belarus with thousands of migrants trying to get into the country. Warsaw blamed the crisis on the Belarusian government, saying it was flying in Middle Eastern and African migrants on the false promise of easy access to the EU.

According to Polish officials, the hybrid attack from Belarus was co-prepared with the Russian secret services.

https://tvpworld.com/71637956/wagner-fighte...i-gap-polish-pm

This is going to be very interesting indeed...

KL-Karak Expressway sinkhole caused by ECRL tunnel

KUALA SELANGOR - The sinkhole found on Kilometre 66.1 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (KLK) near Bentong yesterday was believed to be due to the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) tunnel work, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

He added that work on the tunnel, including digging through concrete pavement, has been carried out since Tuesday.

"I have gone to the scene and seen what happened. I was satisfied because the work of burying the sediment was done quickly.

"Initial investigations found there were ECRL underground tunnel construction works across the highway in the respective location. I have instructed the departments and agencies involved to provide me regular updates on the incident," he said when met at the West Coast Highway (WCE) Section 6 Site Visit, Assam Java, here on Wednesday.

The Works Ministry said the collapse of the ECRL 2 tunnel caused the ground 13 metres above the tunnel surface to sink on the eastbound route of the highway.

The statement said that in terms of long-term improvements, a comprehensive investigation will be carried out by the Public Works Ministry through the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) with the cooperation of parties involved.

"Continuous observation will be continued to detect if there are underground movements in the location of the scene," the statement said.

The incident with the sinkhole caused the closure of both directions at km 66.1 at around 8pm on Wednesday.

https://www.sinardaily.my/article/202358/ma...k-says-minister

PETALING JAYA: Commuters on the MRT Kajang line faced delays on Monday (March 27) morning due to technical issues between the Pusat Bandar Damansara and Phileo Damansara stations.

In a post on its official Twitter account, Rapid KL said at 8.55am that a train between the two stations was facing brake issues and power problems and repairs were being done immediately.

After 9am, it said that alternative train services were being provided for commuters.

This involved trains from Kwasa Damansara turning back at Phileo Damansara, while trains from the other end of the line at Kajang would turn back at the Semantan station.

Rapid KL added that a different “intermediate train” would run between Phileo Damansara and Semantan, where the repair works are ongoing.

The situation was fixed at around 9.30am when Rapid KL tweeted that the brake issues and power supply problems had been resolved.

“The alternative and intermediate train services have ended. The service schedule is back to normal,” it said.

Berak Down Lagi

Knn made me late for work today.
Stray missiles landed on Ukraine-Poland border

Two people have been killed in Poland after two stray rockets landed near the border with Ukraine.

It has not yet been confirmed if the rockets landed in the NATO state as a result of Russia's mass bombardment of Ukrainian cities earlier today, which saw over 100 rockets launched.

Poland's Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, has convened the Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defense Affairs "as a matter of urgency", government spokesman Piotr Müller confirmed, with local news sites claiming this is likely the result of the explosions.

The rockets fell in the town of Przewodów, hitting grain dryers. The police, prosecutor's office and the army are reportedly already on the site.

Some analysts have suggested the rockets' intended target may have been Lviv, a Ukrainian city about 100km south of Przewodów.

https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/169708...res-world-war-3

Updates:

Joe Biden has said the missile that landed in Poland, killing two people, was unlikely to have been fired from Russia due to its trajectory.

The US president was speaking at the G20 meeting in Bali, Indonesia, after convening an emergency meeting of western leaders to discuss the explosion on Nato territory that has the potential to take the war in Ukraine into a new even more dangerous dimension.

Asked if the missile was fired from Russia, Biden said: “There is preliminary information that contests that. I don’t want to say that until we completely investigate. But it is unlikely in the minds [sic] of its trajectory that it was fired from Russia.” He added: “But we will see, we will see.”

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the missile as a “Russian-made” missile, a phrase that could include S-300 ground to air missiles in the possession of Ukraine.

“We agreed to support Poland’s investigation into the explosion in rural Poland, near the Ukrainian border, and they’re going to make sure we figure out exactly what happened,” Biden said.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/no...ssia-biden-says

The president of Poland said today that a missile that hit its territory was fired by Ukraine in an “unfortunate accident”, rather than being an “intentional attack”.

“It was not an attack on Poland,” President Duda said, adding that the incident involved “most probably a Russian-made missile”.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/russia-p...ummit-gckl000cb

Women take 3 hours to get ready

SHAH ALAM – Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has claimed that women are unable to be representatives of voters in Sik, Kedah.

© Provided by Sinar Daily

In a viral video on TikTok during a talk, he was recorded as saying: “At three in the morning, we could imagine how women sleep, moreover with their tangled hair. In that state, are they going to help flood victims?”

He said he did not mean to bring down women but the Sik constituency is a big rural area with many people in need, they would seek help from their representatives round the clock.

The Kedah Menteri Besar added, “(Women) even when getting ready to leave the house, also take three hours.”

He said this when campaigning for Pas parliamentary candidate, Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman in Sik. Tarmizi is defending his seat against two women in the 15th General Election (GE15).

They are Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) former director Datuk Latipah Md Yatim (PH) and Wanita Umno Sik division leader Maizatulakmam Othman (BN).

There are 63,135 voters eligible to vote for the Sik parliament in GE15.

In the 14th General Election (GE14), Tarmizi Sulaiman won the Sik parliamentary seat with a majority of 5,218 votes.

https://www.msn.com/en-my/news/national/wom...31c893db38ea0e8

Mystery strain of ‘acute, severe’ hepatitis

At least one child has died from a mystery strain of severe hepatitis which has now been reported in 12 countries, the World Health Organization has confirmed.

The UN body said on Saturday that it is aware of 169 rare cases of acute hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver, in young children. Of these, 17 became so sick they needed liver transplants.

Most of the infections – 114 – are in the UK, followed by Spain, which has recorded 13 cases, and Israel with 12. The outbreak has also spread to the US, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Norway, Romania and Belgium.

While mild paediatric hepatitis is not unheard of, severe hepatitis in previously healthy children is rare.

Health authorities have been investigating the mystery illness, which has affected young people ranging from one month to 16 years old, since a cluster of cases was identified in Scotland dating from January to mid-April.

In an interview with Stat, a US health news website, the WHO has encouraged countries to monitor and report similar cases.

“Although the numbers aren’t big, the consequences have been quite severe,” said Richard Pebody, of the WHO European division’s high threats pathogen team. “It’s important that countries look.”

The cases are more unusual still because they are not linked to any of the five typical strains of the virus – hepatitis A, B, C, D and E.

Scientists currently believe that an adenovirus, a common type of virus that can cause common colds, could be behind the wave of acute hepatitis cases. At least 74 of the children who are affected have tested positive for adenovirus infection.

But while adenovirus 41 has been linked to hepatitis in immunocompromised children, it has never been known to cause the condition in previously healthy children.

Public Health Scotland’s director, Jim McMenamin, told Reuters that work is under way to understand if an adenovirus has mutated to cause more severe disease, or if it could be causing the problems “in tandem” with another virus, including possibly Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.

Any link to Covid-19 vaccines has been ruled out, as the vast majority of children who have fallen ill were not vaccinated, according to the WHO.

Other scientists said lowered immunity as a result of reduced social mixing during the pandemic could be an explanation.

Hepatitis symptoms include dark urine, yellowing of the eyes and skin, sickness, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, light-coloured stools and joint pain.

Parents are being told to look out for symptoms and to contact a healthcare professional if they are concerned about their child. The British Health Security Agency has urged handwashing and “thorough respiratory hygiene”, such as catching coughs and sneezes in a tissue.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/ap...is-who-confirms
