Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M Kumar said the material was sold to online communities with similar interests, with some pieces reportedly priced at between RM50 and RM60.

KUALA LUMPUR: Some of the eight minors detained in a nationwide operation targeting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) were found to have produced and sold animated child sexual abuse material online.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M Kumar said the material was sold to online communities with similar interests, with some pieces reportedly priced at between RM50 and RM60.

"The eight children aged between 13 and 18, comprising seven boys and a girl, were detained. Besides downloading the material, some also produced their own animations and sold them.

"The buyers were from communities with an inclination towards such material," he said.

Kumar said the communities were formed online, with members not necessarily knowing one another personally.

"Those who have accessed such material will find groups with similar interests and inclinations, forming small online communities.

"They do not know one another. This is happening online, including through Telegram. What is worrying is not so much the price, but the trend and where it is heading. This is what we need to take seriously," he said.

On how children learned to produce such material, Kumar said it could be learned through various means, including online platforms, social media and artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

However, he said investigations were ongoing to determine whether they had been exposed to such material by individuals or other parties.

The youngest was a 13-year-old girl, but police were still investigating the amount of CSAM linked to her and the purpose for which the material was possessed.

Kumar said the parents of the children only became aware of their activities after the arrests, while investigations were ongoing to determine how they were first exposed to such material.

He said transactions for the sale of the material could be carried out through various methods, including e-wallets, PayPal and Touch'n Go.

"Our children are far more proficient than adults when it comes to social media use. That is a fact. Therefore, continuous monitoring is necessary, and this must begin at home," he said.

On action against the eight children, Kumar said investigations would be completed before the cases were referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) for further instructions and advice.

"Police also has counsellors to assist children facing such cases, but efforts to raise awareness must be carried out continuously and should not stop after enforcement action," he said.

Earlier, 53 individuals aged between 13 and 56 were detained in Op Pedo Bersepadu PDRM-MCMC 3.0, conducted nationwide from Sept 14 to 16.

Of the total, 52 were Malaysians and one was a Bangladeshi, while eight of those arrested were children.

DBKL slashes 2026 Deepavali Bazaar participation fee to RM400

THE maximum participation fee for the 2026 Deepavali Bazaar in Kuala Lumpur has been reduced by roughly 85% to RM400, including deposit, down from RM2,626 last year.

The fee cut accompanies an extended operating window from 21 to 30 days, alongside an expanded allocation of business lots.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh noted that the new RM400 maximum rate matches the standard fee charged for the Ramadan Bazaar.

“We want to reduce costs for traders, provide them with a longer trading period and open opportunities for more traders to participate,” she said at a press conference today.

Running from Oct 9 to Nov 7, 2026, the bazaar offers 172 total spots, up from 164 last year, comprising 122 lots at the Tun Sambanthan Complex car park (Mega Bazaar), 20 at Jalan Bunus 6, and 30 promotional licences for premises along Jalan Tun Sambanthan.

Daily trading hours will run from 10am to midnight, with approved goods including food, beverages, and dry items.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud confirmed four local associations have each been offered 25 lots, with formal balloting scheduled for Sept 22 and 23.

The participating groups are Pertubuhan Kebajikan Peniaga dan Penjaja Kecil Interaksi Kuala Lumpur dan Selangor, Persatuan Prihatin Peniaga Little India Brickfields, Persatuan Penjaja-Penjaja Medan Selera Pines Bazaar Brickfields, and Malaysia Hindu Sangam Wilayah Persekutuan.

The inclusion of Malaysia Hindu Sangam marks a new partnership aimed at introducing fresh traders to the bazaar.

“We will ensure that the traffic control system is implemented throughout the bazaar period, and traffic controllers will always be present at the site, especially for those who want to park along the road,” Fadlun said.

Under a hybrid management model, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) retains full authority over licensing, regulation, and enforcement while partner associations assist with daily operations.

Additionally, strict prohibitions against subletting, lot reselling, and excessive profiteering remain in effect, with immediate enforcement planned for non-compliant vendors.

The centralised Mega Bazaar format is designed to mitigate traffic congestion, elevate public safety, and simplify vendor operations.

LONDON - Ratusan penyokong membanjiri kawasan di luar bangunan pencakar langit The Shard di London untuk melihat Ketua Menteri Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay, namun program penampilan awam beliau terpaksa dibatalkan atas faktor keselamatan.

“Demi keselamatan awam, kami membatalkan program ini kerana tidak mendapat kebenaran berikutan kebimbangan keselamatan,” katanya.

Keputusan itu mengecewakan penyokong, termasuk mereka yang datang dari lokasi jauh dan menghabiskan masa berjam-jam menunggu di sekitar lokasi berkenaan.

Seorang penyokong yang dipetik PTI berkata, beliau memahami keputusan tersebut, namun kecewa kerana ramai sudah lama menunggu untuk bertemu Vijay.

Vijay kini berada di UK mengetuai delegasi kerajaan Tamil Nadu dalam misi menarik pelaburan global ke negeri berkenaan.

Menurut Pejabat Ketua Menteri, delegasi itu menandatangani beberapa memorandum persefahaman (MoU) membabitkan cadangan pelaburan bernilai kira-kira 123 bilion rupee (RM5.18 bilion) sepanjang lawatan tersebut.

Projek berkenaan dijangka mewujudkan lebih 9,400 pekerjaan bernilai tinggi, selain menyokong usaha Tamil Nadu untuk muncul sebagai hab utama pembuatan termaju dan teknologi di Asia.

Suami tikam isteri 13 kali hingga maut akibat cemburu

Kulim: Seorang wanita maut dipercayai ditikam suaminya sebanyak 13 kali menggunakan sebilah pisau lipat dalam kejadian di sebuah rumah di Taman Tiram, Kulim Hi-Tech, di sini, malam tadi.

Difahamkan, kejadian berlaku dipercayai akibat cemburu.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kulim, Superintendan Syamsul Sinring, berkata suspek berusia 43 tahun hadir ke Balai Polis Lunas kira-kira jam 8.40 malam tadi dan memaklumkan dia menikam isterinya berusia 39 tahun di rumah mereka di Taman Tiram, di sini.

Beliau berkata, suspek turut menyerahkan sebilah pisau lipat dipercayai digunakan dalam kejadian itu.

"Tempat kejadian adalah rumah teres setingkat dan kejadian berlaku dalam bilik tidur utama yang didiami suspek, mangsa serta anak mereka berusia tiga tahun.

"Pemeriksaan mendapati terdapat kesan dipercayai darah pada cadar tilam, bantal, kepala katil serta beberapa barangan di atas katil.

"Sepasukan anggota dari Unit Forensik Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen (IPK) Kedah hadir dan mengambil 11 sampel berkaitan kejadian," katanya dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.

Syamsul berkata, siasatan awal mendapati kejadian dipercayai berpunca daripada pertengkaran antara suspek dan mangsa berkaitan isu cemburu.

Katanya, suspek mengaku menikam mangsa sebanyak 13 kali iaitu tujuh tikaman di dada, lima di perut dan satu di rusuk kanan menggunakan pisau lipat.

"Selepas kejadian, suspek kemudian mandi dan mengambil anaknya daripada pengasuh sebelum menyerahkan kepada kakaknya di kawasan Rehat dan Rawat (R&R) Juru, Pulau Pinang.

"Suspek turut memaklumkan kepada kakaknya dia menikam isterinya sebelum ke Balai Polis Lunas untuk menyerah diri," katanya.

Syamsul berkata, mangsa dibawa ke Hospital Kulim oleh keluarganya dan disahkan meninggal dunia jam 9.30 malam tadi.

Beliau berkata, suspek ditahan anggota Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah Daerah (BSJD) IPD Kulim di Balai Polis Lunas jam 9 malam tadi.

"Sebilah pisau lipat berukuran kira-kira 20 sentimeter dirampas sebagai barang kes. Hasil temu bual awal dengan jiran mendapati mereka tidak mendengar pertengkaran dipercayai akibat hujan lebat ketika kejadian.

"Suspek berasal dari Parit Buntar, Perak adalah penganggur, namun hasil ujian saringan awal air kencing mendapati dia bebas dadah dan tiada rekod jenayah," katanya.

Mayat mangsa dihantar ke Jabatan Forensik Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB) di Alor Setar untuk bedah siasat.

Setakat ini punca kejadian berlaku disebabkan suspek dipercayai menikam mangsa menggunakan pisau lipat ketika pertengkaran berkaitan cemburu dan masalah rumah tangga.

Kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan.
