One cinema will soon offer the unusual dining arrangement.

Dadi Cinema in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur teased the unusual choice of dining menu as part of your cinematic experience.

A Singapore film with gay elements in a Malay-Muslim context has come under fire, showing how taboo the topic is among Muslim communities even as the LGBTQ movement gains traction in the region.
Online users have questioned how Salam Gembira was allowed to be screened, labelling it haram, or forbidden in Arabic, and even “sodomite influenced”.

Salam Gembira, or happy greetings in Malay, is a comedy that revolves around Moe, a Malay-Muslim Singaporean living in Rotterdam with his Dutch girlfriend when his parents make a surprise visit. His girlfriend switches places with her gay brother to hide that the couple lives together, but Moe’s parents then suspect their son is gay. The story is narrated by a gay character, who is portrayed as a Muslim in the film.

Singapore’s censorship board has passed the film uncut with an R21 rating due to its mature theme and some homosexual content.
Salam Gembira is screening at Filmgarde Cineplex at Leisure Park Kallang and has had its run extended to July 31 after its premiere on June 30.

Speaking to This Week in Asia, the film’s co-producer and writer, Remi M. Sali, said: “Whenever you talk about being gay and a Muslim, it’s a big no-no. There’s no room for discussion.”

An expat, obviously with extensive electrical knowledge has constructed a doomsday-preppers-type home. Whilst not my style of home there are as many good technical or Eco features as there is in poor design and fit out. Each to their own.

When in Rome, don't drive your fancy sports car down historic stairways.

That apparently went unheeded by a man who this week drove his rented Maserati down the city's Spanish Steps and now faces charges for allegedly causing damage to the landmark, according to police in the Italian capital.

The unnamed 37-year-old Saudi national accused of being behind the wheel was apprehended at Milan's Malpensa airport after police identified him through the car rental company from images of the vehicle caught by surveillance cameras.

He's been charged with aggravated damage to cultural heritage and monuments.

Celebrated Hong Kong actor Kenneth Tsang was pronounced dead on Wednesday after being found unconscious at a quarantine hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, sources told the Post. He was 86.
The actor, also known as Tsang Kong, was undergoing quarantine in the Kowloon Hotel on Nathan Road after returning to the city from Singapore on Monday.

The Test & Go process for foreign arrivals will be terminated at the end of the month and vaccinated travellers will require only self-antigen tests for Covid-19 from May 1, to stimulate tourism and the economy, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Friday.

"Tourism is recovering and antigen tests will be more convenient and faster for visitors," Gen Prayut said after chairing a meeting of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) at Government House.

Australia scraps all test requirements for incoming travellers
Returning citizens and arriving visitors will no longer need to perform any test to enter Australia.

Today is another one of those days which travellers have been eagerly awaiting, with all testing for overseas arrivals scrapped for flights departing to Australia as of Monday April 18.

“If you are departing to Australia on or after 18 April 2022, you will not need to undertake a COVID-19 test prior to travelling,” is the official word of the Department of Home Affairs.

Until yesterday, all travellers headed for Australia – both visitors and returning citizens – had to undergo either a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or a rapid antigen test (RAT) within 72 hours before boarding their flight.

But from this week, Australia joins the growing number of countries reducing or removing testing, in line with previous milestones such as ending quarantine.
