Nama Pak Man Telo pernah menjadi antara nama paling terkenal di Malaysia sekitar era 1980 an hingga awal 1990 an kerana dikaitkan dengan skim cepat kaya yang menggemparkan negara. Ramai generasi lama pasti masih mengingati bagaimana rakyat berpusu pusu melaburkan wang mereka dengan harapan untuk menjadi kaya dalam masa singkat. Pak Man Telo atau nama sebenarnya Osman Hamzah berasal dari Taiping, Perak dan pada awal kehidupannya hanyalah seorang wartawan sambilan sebelum mula memperkenalkan skim pelaburan yang akhirnya menjadi fenomena besar di seluruh negara. Skim yang bermula sekitar tahun 1972 itu dipercayai berjaya menarik hampir 50,000 pelabur dengan jumlah kutipan mencecah lebih RM99 juta.

Kegiatan Pak Man Telo mula mendapat perhatian pihak berkuasa apabila rumahnya diserbu oleh Bank Negara Malaysia pada tahun 1989 dan hampir RM2 juta wang tunai ditemui di kediamannya. Pada tahun 1991, beliau ditahan dan dikenakan tindakan di bawah Ordinan Darurat sebelum sekali lagi didakwa mengikut Akta Institusi Kewangan dan Bank atau BAFIA. Dalam perbicaraan mahkamah, Pak Man Telo sendiri mengakui bahawa syarikatnya iaitu Pertama Sdn Bhd tidak mempunyai rekod lengkap transaksi pelaburan sehingga beliau tidak mengetahui jumlah sebenar wang yang telah dikutip daripada orang ramai. Situasi ini menyebabkan ramai pelabur mula panik apabila dividen yang dijanjikan gagal dibayar seperti sebelumnya.

Kemarahan pelabur ketika itu begitu memuncak sehingga berlaku beberapa insiden luar biasa. Antaranya, sekumpulan lelaki nekad menculik anak lelaki Pak Man Telo di sebuah hotel di Kuala Lumpur bagi memaksa wang pelaburan mereka dipulangkan. Selain itu, ratusan pelabur turut mengambil tindakan saman terhadap beliau selepas mengalami kerugian besar. Kes ini akhirnya menjadi antara skandal skim cepat kaya paling terkenal dalam sejarah negara dan membuka mata ramai pihak tentang bahaya pelaburan tidak sah serta janji keuntungan luar biasa yang tidak masuk akal.

Selepas menjalani hukuman penjara di Taiping selama dua tahun, Pak Man Telo dibebaskan pada November 1992 sebelum dibuang daerah ke Kuala Berang, Terengganu. Sejak itu beliau mula menjauhkan diri daripada perhatian umum dan menjalani kehidupan sederhana bersama keluarga dengan membaiki radio dan televisyen untuk menyara hidup. Pada 22 Disember 1997, Pak Man Telo meninggal dunia akibat sakit tua ketika berusia 70 tahun. Walaupun kisahnya sudah lama berlalu, nama Pak Man Telo masih terus diingati sehingga hari ini sebagai antara pelopor skim cepat kaya paling terkenal di Malaysia dan menjadi pengajaran besar kepada masyarakat supaya tidak mudah terpedaya dengan janji kekayaan segera.

today i googled MJ only got 6 NBA championships but was around for about 15 years

then i googled , why he didnt get more, since he GOAT, should easily win more, just like GOAT in other sport sure they sapu a lot.
then i found out, he actually during peak years, quit NBA and played baseball instead minor league. after 2 years he returned to NBA and still owned everyone.

lesson is, if you are GOAT, you can come on /k, talk kok, etc, and then return to your work alt tab as if you were grinding for past few hours on the excel sheet.

save this story and use it next time ur alt tab failed to work fast enough (happened to me back during windows ME and prawn pic caused my pc to lag while my bro walked in) and your HR caught you.
