Different perspective.

I always heard people said the world must be created by someone. Because everything is so perfect, systematic, and in order.

Like life needs oxygen and plant needs carbon dioxide. Therefore we exchange needs and keep the ecosystem balanced.

Like oxygen concentration is just right for life to exist. If too much, cannot. If too less, also cannot.

It seems like things are set and created by an intelligent entity instead of just being random. Because it's too systematic and optimal.

But I wonder. What if things exist because they adapt to the ecosystem. Like we need that oxygen at that level of concentration because we adapt to what the earth has offered?

And plant needs carbon dioxide at that level because that's what we offer them. They adapt what is given to them. And we adapt what is given to us.

It's all about adaptation to what is given to us. And if we don't, we extinct. And those who adapt, survives. And the ecosystem becomes balanced by nature because of this.

Do you choose to be liked or be right?

If you choose to be right, and argue, you get hated. Your seniors and superiors will say you got attitude problem. You will be the "guy who has attitude problem" at work.

If you choose to be liked, you lie. And say the words people want to hear. Fake kindness and humble. Just to make people like you and accept you in the social circle.

The thing is, 1st one is the real you. 2nd one is faked. And most people are 2nd because they have to. And they do it automatically without thinking they are faking it. Because it becomes a subconscious skill that we do everyday until we are not aware we are faking it.

But whenever you be the 1st one, you're doomed. You'll be the mentally ill guy at work. You'll be the attitude problem guy at work. You'll be the boss/employee that has problem at work. You won't survive long.

i feel powerful to not use AI

it feels so boring and annoying to use AI now. Because I know everyone use it to write things. And it feels annoying.

I somehow just stop using it to write now. And i just write by myself. Do things using my own ability.

And only use AI for search info (like using google search).

And i feel alive again. I feel myself. I feel like me. Because i know that work is done by me and i feel proud of it, satisfied.

There are 3 types of supervisor

1. The easy going, happy go lucky. Everything you do is not wrong as long as you don't make big mistake that cost your supervisor kena scold by his own supervisor.

2. The classic strict, perfectionist. He has high standards and hard to impress. He always find your mistakes and want you to do better.

3. The "I have high expectations on you, but low expectations on myself". He can make the mistake but you cannot. He catch you like a strict no.2 supervisor but he himself is making the same mistake. He is not strict on himself but strict on you.

No. 3 is a motherfucker. Why he like to fix others but he can't even fix himself. His performance is kanasai but he judge harshly on his subordinate as well.

Weird.

Dji mics sounds bad?

I just got a new dji mic and they sound awful. I mean, it's usable but it doesn't sound like studio quality.

Sounds muffled like telephone.

Not HD sound.

I wonder why it's so popular? I'd rather just use a condenser mic which sounds significantly better and clearer for speaking.

But one thing good about dji mic is portability and outdoor use. Can go jungle trekking or vlogging without worrying your voice can't be heard if camera is too far away.

Other than that, not sure why to use it. It doesn't sound studio like quality

Is top tier microphones dead in podcasting?

I realize nowadays even cheap mics like headset mic that's less than RM 50 can sound almost nearly as good as RM500++ condenser microphone XLR like Samson ones that was sold in 2000's

Has the technology gotten so well that even cheap mics nowadays are good mics?

Of course I don't mean for singing or song recording. Simply for podcasting one.

In the past we need to use condenser mic for podcast for good voice quality. But nowadays the cheap mics like headset mics are so good that I almost can't tell the difference between a condenser mic?

The glory of graduate from overseas is now gone

In 2000's people always prefer if you graduate from overseas. Like from UK, US, Japan, Singapore, etc.

Job application is much more easier. Your cert seems powerful and very pakai-able.

Your friends and family respect you and feel you're high quality.

But now, it seems like that glory is gone nowadays.

If you graduate from overseas, you get treated equally with local graduates.

Your friends just look at you and see you're rich. Nothing more than that.

Heck, even UM, USM, and other top local uni also face the same issue?

It's like the market no longer care where you graduated. You get almost the same treatment?

Then, what's the point going overseas to study and come back MY? What's the point invest huge money in reputable university?

Why not just give up those glory and go to any average uni and come out with low debt and get same job with same salary?

Why younger generations choose to lie flat?

Many people may have this question:
Why could our parents' generation
work so hard, endure so much, and willingly bear hardships,
while this generation of young people is often labeled
as "lying flat," "giving up," or "not trying hard enough"?
If we only look at the surface,
it might seem easy to conclude:
This generation is not as good as before.
But if we compare the two eras,
you'll find that
what has changed is not just people's attitudes,
but the very structure of the times.

1｜The previous generation was willing to strive because "hard work really paid off"
For many in the previous generation,
there was a clear connection between effort and reward.
Overtime, enduring hardships, and patience
often truly brought something in return:
more stable income,
clearer paths for promotion,
buying a home, starting a family, and improving their lives.
Life might not have been easy,
but the direction was clear.
This is crucial in psychology.
When a person knows
that "my efforts will bring change,"
no matter how hard it is, they can endure it mentally.

2｜This generation is growing weary because "hard work has become uncertain"
The reality this generation of young people faces is very different.
Educational qualifications are higher,
but competition is fiercer;
working hours are infinitely extended,
yet a sense of security hasn't increased accordingly;
housing prices and the cost of living are soaring,
while salaries struggle to keep up.
Many people have tried hard,
but after their efforts, they find:
"I've already pushed myself so hard,
but my life is only barely maintained,
and hasn't truly become more stable."
When hard work no longer brings clear rewards,
people naturally start to question:
What's the point of holding on like this?

3｜"Lying flat" didn't appear overnight
In psychology,
when a person is in an environment of
high pressure, low rewards, and low control for a long time,
the brain automatically activates a protective response:
lowering expectations,
reducing investment,
and avoiding further disappointment.
This is not laziness,
nor is it a sudden lack of responsibility;
it is a way, under continuous exhaustion,
to avoid collapsing.
So the so-called "lying flat culture"
is not because this generation suddenly became worse,
but because they, in an environment
of high uncertainty and long-term exhaustion,
chose a less painful way to live.

4｜Why did the previous generation rarely "lie flat"?
Not because they were tougher,
but because reality constantly told them:
Enduring hardships brings rewards.
When society consistently rewards hard work,
people are naturally willing to keep striving.
But when the message reality repeatedly conveys is:
"No matter how hard you try, you'll only stay where you are,"
people's psychological systems
begin to contract rather than burn.

5｜Both generations are actually hardworking; it's just the "results" of their efforts that differ
If we only judge this generation's situation
based on the experiences of the previous generation,
it's easy to see only the conclusion:
They are not good enough.
But if we are willing to ask one more question:
What exactly has changed in the environment?
Perhaps we can understand
why the same hard work
has led to completely different feelings.

6｜I don’t encourage giving up, but I understand why "lying flat" has emerged
A truly healthy society
doesn’t demand everyone to keep charging forward at all times,
but allows people to pause and reassess their direction
when they can’t see hope.

7｜Hard work itself is not wrong; what’s wrong is a structure
that makes hard work increasingly less worthwhile.
The previous generation changed their fate through hard work,
while this generation often uses hard work
just to barely keep up.
When you understand this difference,
you’ll realize:
"Lying flat" is not a betrayal of values,
but a silent signal from an era
to its people.
Understanding it
is not about indulging in giving up,
but about preventing us, generation after generation,
from continuing to hurt each other with misunderstandings.

Are you guys slowly not used to chinese?

I mean, most of the time when we chat using whatsapp, facebook, social media, watch movies, mostly english.
To embrace AI? Or to limit its usage?

When internet and computer came out, everybody say we must learn new technology or will left behind (which is true).

Now AI came out. Many people will say we must learn and embrace AI. Or will left behind.

But this time, it's not the same.

Why?

1. AI now replace significant part of human cognitive. Previously, internet and computer only make life easier. But no replace cognitive ability.

2. Computer software and internet didn't make us brain rot. It helps us to store data and communicate easily. But we still need cognitive to do things. But now, AI agents do all the cognitive things. From planning, designing, writing, and producing. Output is polished, ready to be used. No brain needed.

Now if we embrace this technology, which is a must to prevent getting left behind, what will happen to the future generations?

Our cognitive ability still retain. But future generations will not be exposed to cognitive trainings. Because the moment they are born, AI do all the things that require cognitive.

Time passed, 300 years later. Human that time has forgotten what is programming, designing, etc.

Slowly evolution favours simple cognitive ability because we are not using our brain anymore except for simple tasks.

But AI won't power forever. AI needs someone who is more intelligent than itself to maintain it, power it, or improve it.

With brain rot apes on the earth, who can fix AI when it's broken, when it stopped functioning, or to improve it?

So when the last data center that runs AI suddenly down, no apes on earth can fix it and they just die from starvation because they don't know how to get food without help from AI

Is C harder to get into IPG for SK

I have always wondered.

For SPM students who applied IPG. You can choose later you want to teach at SK or SJK C. This is done during the application of IPG.

Later on you will attend interview.

For chinese, I heard it's easier to get it and pass interview if you choose to become Chinese teacher, or choose SJK C path.

Else, if you choose SK, chances are, you might not pass the interview. Or it will be harder to pass the interview.

Is this true? Chinese harder to get into SK as school teacher?

I know there's no formal statement that such situation exist. But logically, the interviewers are mostly type M. When interviewing candidates who is applying for SK school, isn't being type C candidate is already at disadvantage when it comes to pleasing the interviewers right?

UEC issue so hot

Man, I mean, I've no issue if UEC which is chinese based education is not recognized, if it deserves to be unrecognized.

But the point is that right now, UEC is highly recognized worldwide by international universities, high ranking ones. And Malaysia, which is still a damn developing country that is supposed to be humble and learning from other countries, surprisingly hate UEC.

This makes it look like a jerk and immature if it's totally race based motive to dislike and don't want to recognize UEC.

I mean, UEC is not lower standard than SPM. If it's lower standard, of course that's a solid reason to not rocognize UEC because the syllabus is not enough for admission to university.

But UEC is in fact higher standard than SPM which makes Malaysian seems insecure and have hidden motive fueled by envy or jealousy towards a race to disapprove UEC as a defensive response.

We have to remember that we are not world leaders. Wo are developing countries. If we can't dominate, we learn and join the big brothers. Else, we will keep on getting left behind. Singapore, which is a smart country knows that. And they did a right choice to learn from European countries.

A wise person learn. A dumb person keep on getting defensive and remain stupid.

Should we defend ourselves?

I realize there are two types of advice

First one is you must stand up for yourself and don't let others mistreat you. Either they talk shit about you or bellitle you, you should always stand up and fight back so that you won't get targeted next time. So that people are scared of you and not dare to bully you. But this one cause tension and make you famous at work because everyone will think your attitude got problem.

Second one is you should be patient and just let it go and go back to relieve yourself using alternative methods. This one avoid confrontations and tensions. You are safe and your boss won't fire you. Your coworkers won't hate you. But you are continuously targeted because people think you are weak and easily bullied. You will need to be others dog and jilat their shoes everyday. Your maruah is gone.

Like no matter what you do, there's always pros and cons and different people will judge you differently. Some think you attitude problem, some think you should stand up for yourself.

So I wonder what kopitiam here thinks

Humanity seems doomed, not now, but 100 years later.

How human will be like that time? The generations who born with AI existence and use it since child.

And we leave the earth, the last generation who actually used brain before is now extinct.

Have you ever realize someone is smart but

I have encountered this type of person.

He or she (let's make it a he) is projects really smart and expert in certain things. Not fake, but you can feel it.

He can do the things, solve the problem practically no problem.

For example he can be any one these:

1. The one who solve a programming bug that nobody in the room can.
2. Play very technically advanced pieces in piano
3. Explain math formula very clearly and why it works
4. Understand physics concepts very well and teach others to understand
5. Very good in English language. Can understand high level texts and write incredible English essays (not in test)

But when it comes to exam, he always get average grades, and those less competent people end up scoring A's or score very high marks. They probably even learn from that smart guy but exams results show otherwise.

But the guy is clearly project expertise in real life, just grades fail to test him right. And teachers might even wonder why he doesn't score top marks.

This can be applied to work as well. Someone who is just so good at something but when it comes to standardized measurement, he fail to ace it and get average grades or marks instead...

Do you meet such person in life? I met quite a few. They project high talent but they don't score top grades when it comes to test, exams, or inspection

Which one is more respected and looked up by ppl?

I always wonder, which type of people is getting looked up more.

The one who since kid is always the Top 1 student in class. Straight A's. 4.0 CGPA. Went to high ranking university like NUS, UM, or maybe Imperial College London. But later graduated and become office job. Still a good job but it's not eye catching job.

Another dude is always a bad kid. Lazy. Get C grades, went to university that people looked down. But managed to finish his medical degree. Ends up become a doctor. Or maybe lawyer.

Maybe during student life, the first one will get the spotlight. But after grow up become adult, will the first one still receiving the spotlight? Or the second one will be respected and looked up by people more than the first one?
