Just got myself one, wondering any other owners in here as well?

Comes with Android 1.6 but sadly still no Market app yet

Still thinking, should I or should I not root it with Cyanogenmod's ROM ?
Apart from having the Market app, does the performance really improves ? since mine is already on v1.6 ....

Vista Network Timeout on certain router ?

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx
Location: Cheras
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: No

Personal equipment
Modem: Belkin FD7632-4 ADSL Wireless router
Router: same as above
Firewall used: Windows

Problem details
First occurence of problem:
Problem frequency: Intermittent
Problem description:

I have a strange problem that I can't really understand why. I'm gonna list down everything as detail as possible.

My laptop is running on Vista Business SP1 32bit and connected to a Belkin FD7632-4 ADSL wireless router. Whenever I try to open certain sites with my browsers, 50-80% of it will get network timeout or can't access page, etc. Moreover, sites like Facebook will take ages to load and stuck at Connecting to static.ak.fbcdn.net

Let me show you an example of how facebook will look like after it took ages to load.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/sissonne/FFFB.jpg

Even images.google.com is not loading up. All the images didn't load up after it took a minute or 2 trying to Connect to tbn0.google.com.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...ne/FFImage.jpg

By the way, no addons such as NoScripts, etc on Firefox were installed and tested with different browsers and they're the same except that Safari seems to perform slightly better.

I have another machine connected to the same wireless router which runs on XP SP3 and it seems to load okay but just not on my Vista laptop. This network timeout problem is driving me crazy because it is intermittent whereby at certain period it keeps on timeout and suddenly there is a short burst of bandwidth for transmit/receive whereby it works only for like 10-20seconds and the cycle continues.

I shall now compiled a list of what I've done and it DIDN'T help at all:

1. Disabled tcp autotuning.
2. Reset winsock and tcp stacks.
3. Flushed DNS.
4. Upgraded router to latest firmware.
5. Disabled IPv6 and teredo tunneling in registry.

None helps.
So, I've tried to connect my Vista to another network that is connected to DLink wireless router and it seems to work perfectly alright ! No network timeout at all and everything is smooth.

So now seems that I've isolated the problem. Don't think its a browsers problem but more of router and Vista compatibility issue?

But I thought most of the routers have already patched up their drivers a year ago and especially we're talking about Belkin. Furthermore, I've upgraded the firmware for that Belkin router and isn't Belkin brand was listed in Microsoft Vista's list of compatible routers/switches?

This still sucks though, which means that there is a high chance that my Vista wouldn't work perfectly whenever I roam to certain networks that are running on certain routers/switches that are not 100% compatible with Vista.

Any thoughts from the experts?
