Sonoff Relay For Smart Autogate

Hi all,

Currently I have this Sonoff MINIR4M. I need some clarification regarding compatibility with my autogate wall switch. Either this MINIR4M or Mini-D Dry Contact.

I am planning to use pulse mode, this relay will be in between my wall pushback switch (function - open/close gate) and the autogate. Mainly I am using this because it supports Apple Home. Those commonly used relay in the autogate box does not support Apple Home so its not an option for me. Does anyone know if this will work? My autogate is sliding gate and motor is CASA ASIA. I have done some research and some users have claimed it worked for them, but when I check with one electrician (to pull neutral wire), he keeps saying it will not work without justification. I will probably find another legit electrician for pulling the neutral wire.

Wifi Issues

So this issue has been happening more and more frequent recently. Stock TM router with 300mbps speed via speedtest, can stream 4k video easily BUT games wont load at all.

Does anyone know if this is just some connection issues with TM or the router is dying? It is a wifi 6 router (2 years old from TM). It is getting super annoying. The games load fine if I connect with my digi hotspot.

I am planning to sub the above plan, but I have a question. As per internet sources, the iCloud storage cannot be specifically split equally and everyone is free to use until full.

Those who are currently subbing this plan, may I know how do you control this? Or do you not share the icloud with everyone? Just TV, Music and Arcade?

Smart Home

no recent posts about this so ill start one

I am curious about what smart devices people are using to make their home smart and whether it is worth or reliable. Just got an ATV 4k as homehub so im surveying products, now that I have a hub to pair with. Compatibility has gotten a lot better recently whereby products from different platform can be paired through Matter and also the new network protocol Thread. The MINIR4M is quite an interesting device which I may buy to test out.

Tired of waiting for new version which does not seem to have any ETA released date.

Do you guys know if it can watch Malaysian tv channels? Or asian contents like Viki, Viu, iQiyi? If can watch asian contents, then I would buy it.

Headlight socket issues 9005/9006

So I have searched google for an amount of time and unable to find any posts related to this at all. I noticed some sellers are selling this 9005/9006 bulbs with an extra protruding leg. The original one only has one but aftermarket ones have one EACH on both sides. What is the purpose of this?? So annoying that it does not fit the socket and has to be shaved off. Even worse when the wrong leg is shaved off and the polarity becomes wrong side.

It seems like nobody else has this issue.

UPDATE: other outgoing lan cable not functioning

Hi, does anyone know if fiberhome wifi 6 lan ports actually works? I just tried all 3 ports but the cat6 cable totally not detected. Lan cable is new.

How to troubleshoot this? The router is so crap that don’t even have indication lights whether the lan port is in use.

Or is there some setting need to enable to use the Lan ports?

Data Roaming when travelling

Hi all.

I am planning to purchase the data roaming package 30 Days World Unlimited Data Pass as I will be stopping at a different country and then transit to my destination so two different countries. How do I avoid those expensive charges after purchasing this data roaming pass? Is it just turn ON airplane mode and turn OFF mobile data? Can the data roaming be turned ON if mobile data is OFF? So as long as using data only without CALL or SMS, no issue? I saw other posts being charged few thousands.

New to this so appreciate any opinions.

Hi sifus,

How many grounding rod is usually hammered into the ground? I tried to add the new rods onto the existing old ones but the connector head was not in a good condition. So instead, I hammered 2 new rods (5ft each) into a new hole beside the old one in the ground. Is that enough or do I need more?
