Canon Digital IXUS 90IS, launched in March 2008

Went to lowyat today, visited 4 shops and no able to find this camera "Canon Digital IXUS 90IS". I was told by one of the sales men that it will only be released in next 2 weeks. And no even the Canon show room can get it.

While all hopes were losing, I visited the last shop in 2nd floor called "Foto Shangri-La - Low Yat Plaza" and was so surprised to find out that they have some stocks put inside the cupboard, and no even for displayed. The sales man "Brian Lee" is the most professional and knowledgeable I have seen in that day. He was very patient to explain to me the features of camera and able to answer all the questions I raised with satisfactory answer.

And when I told him that all the shop at the ground floor not able to get this stock, he was so surprised and told me he did not know other shops not have. But he has this since last week and he did not put in display as he wanted to clear the old stock first in the display shelf.

I purchased with RM 1250, including 1 "free" 2GB SD card, and the monitor protection sticker. Also buy another additional canon original battery NB-5 Lithium Ion battery at RM 190. Also buy additional 2 years insurance of RM 93.

But I forgot to take the free tripod from him! will call him tomorrow morning.

What I love about it? its cool User interface design, big screen, better battery power, slim, less buttons, aluminium cold feeling cover, and it is solid!

I must admit that it is not a cheap camera but overall, feel worth it.

Overall, I am quite satisfy with this camera and the good service provided. Just my 2 cents

Credit: Trustedreview.com

Install Windows XP on Compaq Presario V3509

Hi, I just purchase Compaq Presario V3509 from Lowyat which comes with preloaded Windows Vista (Here is the spec: Compaq Presario V3509) I have decided to install Windows XP. Hear that SATA driver Disable feature not longer exist in the BIOS and I have confirmed this by checking.

Questions:
1. During intallation of Windows (Hit F6 for Raid), can I install the driver of SATA HDD into normal USB pendrive? Not really want to spend extra $ on getting a External 3.5 Floppy drive.
2. It makes no sense to me why we can use an external 3.5 floppy drive but not the normal USB pendrive.
3. Anyone here has the drivers for motherboard and SATA hdd for Compaq Presario V3509? HP site does not provide these drivers but other driver.

Please share with me your experience in installing Windows XP on Compaq Presario V3509. Thanks

Compaq Presario V3509TU Notebook PC

Have been reading all the thread regarding Compaq Presario V3500 series but not many of them are discussing model V3509TU in details. Hope mod will not close this thread as I desperately need insightful advice from the master here.

My main concerns that need advice:
1. Primarily, I will like to install Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server in it but from their driver web site (V3509 supporting OS from HP, it seems like there is no way I can do that.

2. It comes with Windows Vista Home Premium, which is not useful for me. And have anyone tried to install Windows XP Professional SP2 on Compaq Presario V3509TU successfully? Please share your experience.

3. Is the internal HDD 160GB SATA or ATA? There is no mention of SATA in their spec. Compaq Presario V3509TU Specification

4. Does it have any well known problems and defects such as Black dot on the screen, left side of notebook overheat due to HDD on that side too, just to name a few.

5. Do the Altec Lansing(R) speakers have the broken sound when you play it for hours? Read from one forumTerrible review of V3323TU mention HP Compaq Presario V3323TU has a lot of problems and terrible altec Lansing broken sound effect!

6. Compare with HP Compaq Presario V3323TU, has this model overcomes the problem faced in the former?

7. Does anyone here have painful experience on Compaq Presario V3509TU Notebook PC? Please share

5. Would anyone here strongly discourage me to go for this model? Please raise your hand and talk, or remaining silent.

Trillion Thanks in Advance!

Specification

Processor, operating system and memory
Processor type
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Duo Mobile Technology
.
