Multiple audio output and filter L-R channel

I have two identical monitors with speaker capability and put it side by side.

Instead of using 2.1 speaker, I intend to:

- Enable both monitor as speaker

- Filter only left channel for my left monitor, and right channel for my right monitor panel.

For the first problem, I know people seem to use Windows Mixer. Does anyone knows how to resolve the 2nd one?

How to tell PDRM to update their database

hi guys.

i recently trade off my old car to second hand car dealer and we had the name transfer done already for the old car and new car. Even got VOC for new car de.

Somehow, a month later, got PDRM AES summon come to my house say the car still under my name and saman de.

Some things i wonder:

1 - JPJ and PDRM database not sync ?

2 - How do I tell back to PDRM that I am no longer the owner of the car. Can I get something from JPJ that shows such info, so that I can use that to prove to PDRM i no longer own the car?

Raspbian (Debian) usb-based hdd detection

Hi.

I'm using Raspberry PI [Rpi) with Raspbian to become my seedbox. Because it is a seedbox, I do not have any keyboard/mouse/display connected to it. Instead, I configured a static IP over my RPi, and then plug it near to my Unifi Set Top Box (since the STB has an USB jack, which I use to supply power to my RPi)

So yeah, everything seems to work fine, I mean I can ssh to my RPi using PuTTY and install rtorrent.

The problem I have right now is that because I'm using a 4GB SDCard to boot up my RPi, the storage is not enough if I'm going to download stuffs hehe.

So I thought of an idea : why not plug one of my 2.5" HDD to the RPi. However, since I'm in command line mode, it doesn't seem like it is auto mouting my usb hdd. Also, from dmesg I can't seem to find the path to mount my disk.

Masters UTM (MICE) vs MMU (uElectronics)

Hi.

I'm looking for any inputs from people who had taken Masters (Engineering) in UTM (Microelectronics & Computer Systems) vs Masters in MMU (Microelectronics).

For one, the core courses are definitely different, but I have no clues over the core courses for the UTM (only obtain the programme structure : http://portal.fke.utm.my/postgraduate/time.../CSMEHA1B-A.pdf , but no explanation on the courses' objective and syllabus). At least the MMU website details the courses to be taken so that I know the content of the courses before I can confirm which should I apply.

Also, in term of career development (such as industrial approval), which is better?

Using #define

Hi.

I'm just curious if there is any way to use a constant variable i defined in my main.cpp to another cpp file which is compiled together in my makefile.

Normally I would decllare them to global variables in my main.cpp and then use the extern function to call them back in any other cpp files I need to use them.

However, I'm wondering if there is any way to make the #define global as well? Should I put the "#define"'s in a header file instead and putting them in cpp files?

running advanced tftp daemon

hey guys,

anyone have ever tried setting up atftpd?

i'm trying to setup atftpd on a ubuntu server 11.10 in my office, for my work purpose.

however i'm getting timeout error from my client to get the files at the server.

i've flushed the iptables and disable ufw as well, just to be sure it is not the firewall that is causing the timeout/connection issue.

here's the /etc/default/atftpd setting :

apparently i did not take into account that i need to manually bind which connection should the atftpd connects to. just putting in the --bind-local argument solved it haha.

Anyone got a complete list of rate for roaming using Celcom?

I'm actually in US right now, and I'm on roaming with AT&T. Also I enabled data roaming as from time to time I will need to find qibla to pray using my phone.

I tried looking at Celcom website, all I could find was :

Never mention of data rate. For data rate, could only find the 12 country RM38/month.

Let say if right now I'm using Celcom 50 + 1GB Unlimited Speed Data Plan package which costs RM38, would my data roaming be Pay Per Usage, or same Unlimited?

Hi all.

I'm quite a noob in gstreamer (and linux as well).

I'm trying to write a single command which will encode a video from a LiveUSB camera, and at the same time decode another video as well.

I was thinking of using gst-launch to do both things together, but was thinking to use only 1 gst-launch instead.

my command would be :

(i know of one, either use vorbis or mplayer and concat them using | , but was trying to avoid it. Again, The intent was to do everything in a single gst-launch command)

KVM Over IP

Hi.

I've a question which requires tech-guys to help me out.

I'm working in a company which currently does a number of graphics benchmarking like 3DMark so on and so forth.

We're trying to enable employees to do and monitor the benchmark progress even if he is not on-site (let say employee demam or the benchmark was ran overnight).

For sure using VNC, PuTTY, Windows Remote would mess around with the hardware, as we're not directly accessing the graphics memory buffer in that case.

One of the solution we thought of was using KVM over IP? Let say if I run 3DMark on one system got score of 6000, if I ran through KVM over IP, would I see a degradation or would it give me the same score? However since the item is quite costly, we wanted to make sure that this is the right path without wasting money.

This is my first review of any kind of laptop. I've been using several laptops for over several years now, but never wrote any review (So, sorry for the lack of information I have right now, but I'll update the first post from time to time).
