I've called the usual brand stores in malls but they don't have spike shoes in stock. Online purchases don't have the size we want.

Here are some details:

There are 2 albums, Album K and A. Both albums basically the same contents but some issues are missing in album A. Please refer to the list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cW7...dit?usp=sharing
The list may contain errors so please clarify with me before purchase if you have any request. In most issues, it includes a presentation pack. (e.g. Quantity 2 means 1 FDC, 1 presentation pack).
They are kept in the albums since purchase but yellowing and degradation are visible on many older issues. Album A has noticeably more degradation.
They are all Melaka state cancellation except for 1 or 2 issues.
I am looking to sell everything at once, no exchange, cash only.

The past few days I’ve seen an increase of threads on electric vehicles. This is encouraging to see, especially for those investing in the sector. My identification of consumer trends has paid out. Even in a country like us where many myths still prevail due to lack of awareness and vision, EVs are starting to get into the average person’s mind.

If Proton or Perodua were to launch an EV, which is as affordable as a Myvi, with the current advantages and disadvantages in EV tech, would you consider it?

0-100 km/h: 9s
0-80% charge: 30 mins

So, I'm moving this to Serious /k to avoid trolls. Hope this is allowed.

I'm thinking of hosting a live chat in the style of a conference where anyone can ask questions and I'll try to answer as many as possible to benefit everyone.

This will be a closed door session limited to 100 participants (Webex limitation), so 1st come 1st serve.

The topic can be anything but I would like to keep it to personal finance or experience sharing between everyone.

So who am I?

I'm 39 this year and married. I'm a German uni graduate with a Dipl-Ing. degree. Lived and worked in Germany for more than 11 years. Now back in Malaysia, sorta retired. I'm probably better known as the Tesla guy in /k.

Why am I doing this?

Because I have some free time during the total lockdown. I would like to help those who may be lost or maybe give encouragement to others. It's also something to do on a weekend when we are unable to leave the house. I am also hoping to talk to more people from all walks of life.

How much will it cost?

Nothing. I am not charging anything. I just want to hang out with people since it's been ages that anyone has been to a gathering. I would appreciate it if you were to donate something to a charity of your choice, but no obligations.

I will also not be selling anything, no MLM, no courses, nothing.

This will not be a place to ask for stock tips as I do not study all the stocks. This will also not be financial advice as I am not licensed. I'll just be sharing some experience or maybe just chat about anything. We can have fun, but please be respectful.

Challenges of EV adoption in Malaysia

Putting aside whether or not battery electric vehicle is better than internal combustion vehicles, I would like to listen to your opinions on what challenges are there to overcome the slow adoption of EVs in Malaysia. Share your opinion and keep the discussion civil.

Here are mine:

1. Lack of direction in the national automotive policy due to reliance on fossil fuel and the burden of Proton.

2. Charging infrastructure providers unable to provide per kWh pricing due to not being a utility. Currently, only Tenaga is allowed to provide per kWh pricing. This drives up the cost for consumers as the parking space is used and also causes a lower utilization rate of the charger. The provider will not have an incentive to provide DC fast charging because the per kWh price cannot be controlled by them.

3. The lack of information and close-mindedness of Malaysian consumers who are influenced by marketing and buzzwords. They tend to think that EVs are expensive, the battery has to be replaced often, no power, and lack of range.

4. The misconception that Malaysians living in condos will not have access to charging.

Feel free to disagree and let's discover the problems so that we can overcome them in the future.

Update on fuel calculations:

Let's say we use TNB domestic highest tariff rate of 57.1 sen per kWh.

A Tesla Model 3 long range has 75kWh battery with an EPA range of 263 miles or 423km.

Assume charging efficiency losses of 20% and more conservative range of 400km, we get 90kWh*57.1sen=RM51.39 for a range of 400km.

This works out to RM12.85/100km.

A BMW 3series G20 318i (which is a shit engine btw) uses 6.3l/100km. Source: https://carwiki.de/bmw-3er-verbrauch

RON95 price today is RM1.84 per liter which means it costs RM11.60/100km for the BMW.

Using RON 97 will increase it to RM13.48/100km.

Just on pure energy costs alone, an EV with the highest electricity tariff is already comparable to a normal car. Put on the lower domestic tariff, fewer maintenance and parts, no more visits to the petrol station etc, I feel it's only time that EV will take over.

My current stock portfolio

My current stock portfolio as of today. These stocks I have been holding for a long time already. Longest is Microsoft since 2009, shortest is Tesla since 2018. Due to Tesla’s rise, it is now the largest holding.

I don’t trade in and out and my last transaction was Sept 2020 where I sold off Hyliion.

I also own other actively managed equity funds, bonds, and PNB funds which are not included here.

Don’t blindly follow and this is not investment advice.
