I'm planing to install a Garden Light that is screwed to the ground. I just need some advice or your experience

1) Are the wires buried in the ground or what is the best way to do it?
2) How much did your wiring cost? I know this will be different for each person as the length of the garden will play a role in the costing.
3) Where did you buy the garden light?

Dear All,

I just finally assemble my new rig with 2 * 2 gig Kingston Memory (KVR1333D3N9/2G) where by the speed is 1333 (http://www.valueram.com/asia/desktop/memory.asp).

However during the POST screen i notice that it is showing as 1066.

I am using GA-X58A-UR3R mobo and i930...but don't think this has anything to do...

The RAM is new and the label was not tempered with...

Any Ideas??? This is really one of those W T F... moments....

PSU fan Facing Up or Down?

Dear Sifus,

Just bought the CM Elite 430 and PSU Seasonic M12 II 620 watt. The casing has vents at the bottom and the PSU fan has a fan the top only.

My question is when installing the PSU,

a)Does the PSU fan face upwards towards the Mobo, GPU,etc

OR

b)Should if face downwards to the casing vents below?

Bear in mind that the clearance of the bottom of the casing from the ground/table is only about 1 cm

Sorry for the newbie question as this is my first build, just that I want to make sure i got it right

I am already in the midst of building my rig. Here is what I have so far:

Core i7 930 S1366
Gigabyte EX58A-UD3R
Kingston PC 1333 - 2 x 2 Gig
Samsung Spinpoint F3 500g
DVD Writer.

I am also getting a ATI HD 5870 first and eventually get another one in the near future.

I have either one of the following PSU in mind:

Xigmatex 650W NRP-MC651 ( A/M/80+ )
Seasonic M12II 620W

However based on the article in Guru3D (http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5870-crossfirex-test-review/3) they recommend at least 700++.
If that is the case i will consider

Seasonic S12D 750W

Is 700++ an overkill? Please kindly advise. I rather spend more now and get what i need, then having to buy a second PSU in the future.Thanks all!!

I will buying my rig components (hopefully soon ) and just wanted to ask if it is necessary to buy Thermal Compound for the i7 930 chip?

Based on googling and youtube, it looks like the thermal compound is already on the Intel CPU cooler. I just wanted to double confirm if this is true, or should i apply a thermal compound regardless?

Kingston PC 1333 2 x 2G - RM 310 (Will this increase later on)
WD 500G (ST 32) - RM 135 (Have exernal HD so don't need a big one)
ASUS HD5870 - RM 1495 ( What brand would is better, Asus, Gigabyte, etc? )
CM 650W Extreme Power - RM 285 ( I am actually planing to get another HD5870 in the future, therefore is the power sufficient? Recommend pls..)
CM Elite 430 - RM 169 ( Recommend other casing. Budget around RM 150 to RM 200).

Monitor - Recommend pls.

[WTA] Dell Studio XPS 9100 or Build Custom Rig

Dear Sifus,

After using a laptop that I bought 4 yrs ago for work, internet and gaming, I planing to get a new PC this time around. The main purpose of this PC:

1) Internet surfing
2) Photoshop
3) Watching Movie
4) Gaming. Not a hard core gamer but would like to play some of the latest games like call of duty, etc.

Now here is my dilemma. I am tempted to buy the the Dell XPS 9100 or should i buy a customize rig.

Here is the pro and cons of each:

Dell - Pro - Installment option, everything is build in, support (debatable )
Cons - Slightly expensive, might have problem with future customization, unknown internal parts

Customize Rig - Pro - Get to choose your parts
Cons - Not sure.

Basically I have customize the Dell XPS 9100 with the ATI HD 5870 with 8 Gig and i930 processor. The rest is the default selection which cost around RM 5,024. This is of course without a monitor.

Then i proceed to customize a rig base on the price list available from lowyat to the same specs with the Dell:

Processor - i7 930 ~ RM 959
Motherboard - Pls Recommend ~ RM600 (Average price)
Memory - 8 Gig - (RM 154 for 2 gig) ~ RM616
Graphic Card - Saphire HD5870 ~ RM1349 (Which brand is better?)
HD WD - 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA ~ RM 219
Drive Panasonic - ~ RM 179
Casing Pls Recommend ~ RM 200 (Average Price)
Power Supply Gigabyte ODIN 550W ~ RM 319
Network Card Belkin ~ RM30
Software MS Win 7 Home Premium <OEM> ~ RM299
Software MS Office Student Edition ~ RM254
Keyboard & Mouse ~ RM30
Labour Cost ~ If any (lol)

Which works out to RM 5054. Roughly the same price....

Maybe the sifus here can customize a pc for a cheaper price and provide the pros of a customize rig. Comments and thoughts is much welcome.

it should be in C:\program Files\research in motion\AppLoader but I don't even have this folder?

Problem with BB and Face Book

Hey Guys/Gals,

Sorry for the question but i'm a new BB user here. I am currently subscribe to the Digi Smart plan and it have receive message that my BIS is activated.

I have downloaded the Facebook application but whenever I tried to connect to the it gives me a message "Data Service is Not available....blah..blah"

Furthermore when i check my service status

Connection: not connected

Any help pls?

I am able to connect to the internet just fine and mine is on EDGE (all caps)

Protection for Bold 9700

Hey all,

Finally bought my bold 2. Just a quick question on the BB protection. I am actually quite interested in the ZAGG Invisible Shield For Blackberry as it covers the crucial parts of the phone.

Is there any protection for the keyboards? I have seen some cell phones that are entirely wrap with a very thin layer of plastic. Anyone know where I can get this kind of protection for BB?

I've seen it on one of the Garage Sale trade as someone was selling his BB and it was all wrap up. However I can't seem to find it now.

Just open a Maybank online trading account. A couple of (newbie) question:

What is the difference with Direct Buy and Committed Buy?

I understand the basic of contra, but how will it work online? Does that mean the orders have to be process immediately?
