Hi guys!

I've actually started this YT channel several years ago, but I only really uploaded Vocaloid / SynthV covers.
Now that I've gotten into photography, I've decided that I will start taking YT a little bit more seriously this time around.

I plan on making photography POVs and maybe some vlog / commentary-style content in the near future.

So far I have only made a few photography shorts, and also tried talk in front of the camera for the first time ever in my life...

Canon 80-200mm f4.5-5.6

So I suddenly have the urge to sell off my current 80-200mm f4.5-5.6 USM telephoto zoom lens in order to fund my nifty-fifty purchase...

But I just don't know how much can I sell it for and would it be worth it to just keep it and buy the 50mm separately.
I'm on a pretty tight budget so if possible I wanna minimize my spending on gear first as I try to save up for a more modern camera in the near future.

Any feedback / opinions will be highly appreciated!

Iriz 2019 - Apple CarPlay

Hi guys, would like to ask if its possible for the HU in the 2019 Iriz Premium use the Carlinkit apple carplay adapter?

Cus IIRC the HU in question is actually running android, so am wondering if its possible to sideload the APK and use the adapter for Apple Carplay?

So after getting rejected by several banks for a used car loan (20k loan), I decided to try and get a credit card instead to try and build my currently blank CCRIS report.

For context, I earn about 3k gross per month, and have no loan (no ptptn / car / housing) so this would be my first time trying to get a credit card.
Then guess what, I got rejected by Maybank not once, not twice, but thrice. Funny thing is the CC I applied is actually one of their entry level Shopee x Maybank CC.
Called them and all they can tell me is there's something wrong with my credit assessment, so I went and bought myself a CTOS report and surprise surprise, its completely blank, zeroes everywhere. (RM20+ down the drain, I could've have a nice KFC meal with that money)

As I am actually planning to get a new affordable car next year to replace my dying car, and have no one to act as my guarantor, I needed to build a nice looking credit score.
The only way I could think of is getting a credit card but since that is a no go already, are there any other way that I could build it?

I'm currently living in my parents house so no rental, and the only utility that is under my name would be ISP, but I used direct debit for that so I have never missed a payment, hell I sometimes pay extra before I started using direct debit.

I'd appreciate some advice from all sifus here

Dear all sifus,

Just wanted to ask where do you guys post / share your work online?

I've been posting regularly to Instagram but it seems like the reach for still photos just isn't there anymore.
I've made a few reels and they managed to get around 4k views and thats about it, most of my still image are terrible in terms of reach / engagement.

Flickr is still somewhat decent, as long as I post it to the correct group I can get at least 200 views on my photos.
Twitter is pretty much posting to the void.

I've lost my passion in cars.

It feels weird as I'm typing this post up but I think I may have lost my passion as a car guy.

I really loved cars and always wanted to drive an E46 when I was a kid, now that I owned it for 3 years (its still stock btw), it all started to feel... less attractive now.
It's not like I've lost interest in the car I have now, but I've lost interest in the concept of owning a nice car to impress people I don't know.

I used to think that owning a modified E46 would make me happy, and that I would keep the car forever and continue to do resto-mods to it slowly year after year.

But now all I could think of is just keeping the car as it is and only fixing what is broken, and using it like I would any other car.

I don't know why I've suddenly lost interest in cars. Whenever I think about it, I just think about all the money that I have dumped into the car, no longer about how fun they are to drive or how I would enjoy owning them.
I still love seeing nice cars on the road and I enjoy taking pictures of them too, but for myself, I just want a new Saga and be happy with it now.

Did anyone here went through the same thing?
This just feels weird and sad to me.

Shooting wide open all the time?

Hi otai2!

So my first month with a DSLR is coming to an end, throughout this period I have noticed myself only shooting at my lens maximum aperture (f4.5) all the time.
I just put my camera in Av mode exclusively and only adjusting ISO a little bit and EC whenever needed.

Most of my shot ended up soft looking pretty soft, and I feel like I'm not using my camera and lens to its true potential.

Are there any tips that you guys could share on how to determine what aperture to use, and what modes do you usually shoot in?

Here are some of the shots that I think looked way too soft (I only realized these after I go back home and put it into my PC for post...)

My beginner photography journey

Hi guys, I got inspired by Razgriz's (W_9235) journey and decided to start my own.

All feedbacks and criticism are welcome, helps me improve as a photographer!
At the moment I am still stuck with the crappy image uploader since I'm still P lesen and can't embed from Flickr directly (although do please check out my Flickr from the link in my signature!), so the image quality is probably shit.
Here are some of my latest photos, I'll refrain from including pictures that I took with my iPhone here as I'd like to think that my proper photography journey starts when I got my DSLR.

I'll be going back to Labis this week, and I'll definitely bring my camera with me along with my broken tripod to try some night time photography too!

Advice for a beginner photographer?

Hi guys,

So I recently bought myself my first DSLR, and wanted to take photography a little bit more seriously.

Are there any general advice from all the otai2 here that you could give to a lowly amateur like me?

I mainly enjoy taking photos of architecture, a bit of landscape and a little bit of street photography.

And one more thing about street photography, how do you get around taking pictures of random strangers without coming off as a creep, or having them going hostile / confrontational when you take pictures of them?
I was originally thinking about getting cheap, simple business cards printed out and carry it around with me when I go out taking pictures, so if anyone asked me what I'm doing I could show them the card.
But I thought the idea was a bit overkill or maybe even a little bit pretentious for someone like me with no experience and just starting out building a portfolio to have a business card.

So what do you guys think?

Pressuring to get a house

So I am with this girl for about 1 1/2 year now, for context I'm 23M and she's 28F (yes i know, quite a huge gap for some), and she has been constantly pressuring me to get a house together.
I just literally started working for 2+ years, salary wasn't the highest and my saving account is not looking too well since I have to support my family and my personal commitments.

She have been constantly saying things like 'she is running low on time, I have a lot of time but she doesn't', and even said something like 'why did I choose you anyways'...

I already told her to give me around 3 to 5 years time so I could build up my credit and also invest in small amount monthly (DCA) so I will have at least enough for a house down payment by 5 years.

Every time I talk about investing in some funds or safer / proven investments she keeps asking me to just save money. How do you expect me to build up enough money for a house if I just 'save' money and not use said saved money to grow more money?

She makes me feel like I'm worthless and I feel stressed when talking about future with her...
But I really love her (she's my first ever GF)...

What should I do?

I mean maybe I'm partly to blame for choosing someone her age but still... can she be a little bit more understanding?

2012 Chevy Cruze - Yay or Nay

Alright so I was in the market for a used car to replace my slowly dying E46... and I stumbled across this.

And I am in love with the looks already.

But... why the hell is it so damn cheap? This thing costs about as much as a used Proton Saga and its from 2012 with keyless entry and push start.

Any owners around here? How is the parts and maintenance? Is it harder to bela than my E46? How reliable (or unreliable) is it? Any common problems?

Seriously cannot brain why is it so low price....

Supplemental Income / Financial Advice

Hi guys and gals of LYN,

I know this question had probably been asked to death before, but I can't seem to find any recent thread discussing about this matter.
So I would like to ask all of you for some side income ideas, and maybe some financial advice.
Here are some of my details.

23M, currently working as an IT Helpdesk Assistant with monthly gross pay at RM3k (RM2.6k nett).
Still leeching / living with my parents, only have to pay management fee monthly (~RM240) , ISP (~RM104) and also electricity bill (~RM80)
I currently own an E46 325i, bought in cash so no need to pay any loan, fuel around RM200 per month.
I also just recently started investing / DCA-ing monthly into Stashaway portfolio (RM300)

My skills are as follows :
- Basic video editing
- Troubleshooting computers (I work as IT helpdesk, duh)
- Refurbishing old computers
- Professional audio system (TF5 Digital Mixer)
- Translating basic Japanese into English (I was part of a doujin translation group, if you know, you know )

Are there anything else you guys think I could do aside from selling bontot?

Or are there any better investment / money managing ideas?

First time loaning, kena reject

Hi all,

First time trying to apply for a loan to get an fake proton / fake lancer / the child that does not belong anywhere.

Car price is 42800 and I am going to put in 12000 as down payment, salesman submitted to HLB saying that its the easiest to pass and lower interest rate.
Bank called me to ask for consent in checking CCRIS, I told them I have no record and also asked if that will affect my loan. The customer service say usually if salary okay won't kacau one.

Fast forward to next day, I check online on HLB online tracking saw the loan amount is different to the initial amount, tried calling the loan officer, no respond.
Ok fine, maybe he's busy so I drop him a WhatsApp instead.

He replies saying that my CCRIS score won't pass, and ended the conversation asking me to go other bank.
I ask him if its possible to bring in guarantor for this and will it help, never reply to my message anymore.

I check on the application tracking website it still says its in submission phase, no update.

So I called another HLB branch they said usually won't have issue, considering how low the loan amount is.

Currently trying for other bank and see what happens.

Now for my other question, how the hell am I supposed to build CCRIS score if I have no PTPTN loan or any other commitments?
I apply for CC also kena reject because no CCRIS score.

Any advice on this?

2000 Volvo S80 2.0 T5

Hi Guys, first post here.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked here several times on this forum already but..

I currently drive an 04 E46 325i and have been loving it throughout the 2 years of my ownership (yes I bought it used).
But my management has been constantly complaining about how expensive my roadtax is since it's 2.5, and how much of a gas hog my car is.

Then, I saw a Volvo S80 2.0 up for sale and it looked absolutely amazing, gave it a test drive, loved how comfy the ride is and how it made me drive like a more sensible person, since the E46 just constantly wants to be driven fast.

So now I'm hoping to get some feedback from Volvo owners out there on several things about the car :

1. How bad is the fuel consumption? The car is only 2.0 and the car is almost 1.7 Tonnes, I won't be expecting Altis level of fuel economy, but just wanted an idea on how it really is.
2. What are the things that are most likely to go wrong on this car?
3. Service pricing / parts replacement at Indy Volvo workshops?
4. How reliable are these cars?

And just in general, what are the things that I need to look out for whenever I'm looking at one of these cars?
