Hi Guys! I'm considering to upgrade my desktop,
I can't afford the lagging while editing the RAW files in Lightroom
I guess I need a faster PC and more memory. My current Intel Dual Core
had enough of it.

Any suggestion ya?

D-link DIR-300 slow connection

Hi guys, I really need some help here regarding my wireless router. Last time I use the old version of D-link and works very well, now I left it somewhere in my friend house who lives very far.

I bought this new DIR-300 for replacement and setup it up with my laptop.It's really slow and I confirm it by direct connect from my modem using line wire. Really drops my productivity!

I read I can flash it to DD-wrt probably can make it better.(I dont really understand the advantage of using this open software).I did that but I failed to connect to internet. I can access the DD-wrtcontrol panel and try to figure out the setting. (Using the autoDHCP)

Now I revert back to the D-link firmware 1.03 and still very slow.To make it worst, the page cannot be found error is really annoying.I had to refresh several time to view the page correctly

I got some question

1) How to best optimize the Dir-300?
2) Is Using DD-WRT can improve connection speed?
3) If yes, how is the setting in the control panel?
The manual is really pening one.

Streamyx 1MB

Modem ZTE ZXDSL831 ------->D-link DIR-300-------------->Laptop
I setup this modem
to dial in username
and pwd
