Fell into the MDW trap

Hey Lowyat Forumers,

I wish I came back to this forum when I was signing my pre-wedding package. I was undergoing pressure from viewing packages with my in-laws and taking my phone out would be extremely rude, as much as we can agree to disagree here
Moving forward with My Dream Wedding's package, how are the basic dresses like? I'm hearing stories like even the decent basic ones are booked early? How are the basic ones more like?
I'm going to bring my own ampoules and nubra thanks to the advice I got from here. Actually my skin is fairly good and I don't really need foundation and I can try to use the excuse that I'm extremely sensitive to foreign skincare chemicals to use my own (My face is known to flare up, go red and have burn peels with random chemicals, Estee Lauder's toner for example can cause it too).

All that being said, my partner and I aren't too fussed about pre-wedding photos since we're both not very huge photo people and we plan to leave the wedding albums behind. It's something we can look back if we ever remember it. We can take new photos during our wedding anniversary when my partner finally has more time or if we migrate to somewhere with better working conditions, he's a medical slave now.

I do hope to hear more on the dress options from other brides and grooms that have signed their packages to really prepare my mind though. I'm praying my capacity to handle frustrations is extra on that day itself.

JPN Putrajaya ROM Timing

Hi all sifus,

I'm going to have my ROM at JPN Putrajaya. The JPN Officer gave us instructions that ROM hours are from 9am to 11am, first come first basis, pretty standard. I am only holding a slight contemplation on paying RM 80 extra per makeup artist since I'll be having my makeup done before 7 AM. The intended schedule is to have my ROM makeup done at 5:30 AM, have it done by 7:30 AM and travel to JPN Putrajaya around 9+ AM. I was wondering if I can have my makeup started at 7 AM, then done around 9 AM and head to Putrajaya? The best I can do is have my partner go to JPN Putrajaya get the queue number slightly earlier before I reach.
Another reason why I'm considering to come later is because my friend advised me to come later so there won't be a long queue and the room is available for some photo taking session, say take photos with both sides of the family without rush. However, she did not have her ROM done in JPN Putrajaya.
By default, I'm going with the pay extra and do my makeup at 5:30 AM option but just want to hear some options from fellow sifus here.

Thoughts on Buying First Property

Hi All,

First off, I don't have very supportive parents and would typically first shut me down before doing anything. I've been self-navigating through my life since then and I hope to seek some opinions on purchasing my first housing property before making any decisions, and with my circumstances, I hope to gain some personalized advice from the online forum here.

I'm currently working with a salary of RM4k and side income of RM500 per month (so nett is around 3.5k + 500 = 4k). I'm looking to spend around 2k+ on monthly housing payments and I'm eyeing to purchase either:
1) Emerald Hills, to rent out first, then move into it as my own house later on. I personally like a bit of nature and my own town area kinda feel.
2) Nestree, solely as an investment property that I'm looking at township development in 10-20 years time and resell it. Then yeah, I won't be holding any property in Malaysia in this case.
3) Sunway Flora, my parents are eyeing this property since they're familiar with Sunway and it's near where they currently live. I don't mind but I worry if the pricing would be higher for Sunway property (the price isn't released yet) and slightly iffy that it's near my parents' place.

I may intend to migrate overseas after a few years but with Malaysia being my home, I ultimately would love to come home. Now I'm just looking at an opportunity to get a nice place and slowly pay it off while my career grows.

I don't pay any rent and have moved out to live with my partner. So based on my 3.5k nett salary and say I deduct 2k from it, I'm paying no other commitments besides paying 500 back to my family and spending 600 a month on food. I try to cook at home as well and reserve the remaining 400 as a buffer.

I am looking to increase my salary as I progress through my career and most likely intend to buy after the recent election if possible.
