First Car Upgrade, Which Mazda Sedan?

Been using a Myvi for the past 10 years. It's served me well but is beginning to show it's age. I've decided that the Mazda range speaks to me most in terms of FC, features, drive and overall style for the budget.

After initially deciding to go with a used Mazda 3 (2016), the current tax holiday has made me unsure of my decision. Now I'm considering a brand new Mazda 2 GVC as both these cars are around the same price range (RM80-90k). Either of these options will be my car for the next 7 years.

Things I'm looking for: FC, reliability (no known issues), media connectivity options & driving comfort (I drive a LOT around the city). I get stuck in traffic every day and rarely drive long-distance or carry passengers. Nature of my work is office-based with occasional client meetings.

Which one would you guys recommend as the better choice for me, all things considered? Thank you in advance sifus!

NEC Versa E6200 Battery and LCD

My NEC Versa E6200 laptop battery's charge cycle is over (laptop requires continuous AC supply), and my LCD screen recently cracked. All that I can see when I turn on the monitor is rainbow colours. Any ideas where I can get a new LCD for my laptop as well as a new battery? A price range on both these items would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

Well, I've been letting myself get unfit during the past 2 years. Been mostly indoors onlining and playing guitar and rarely go to play football like I did everyday during my schooldays. Tore my ACL and went for surgery in August 07, that kept me out of any solid working out activities for almost a year. Decided to try and enroll into the National Defense University (UPNM) to do my engineering degree, found out they have a 10 day strength/fitness test first somewhere around early/mid-April, so I'm trying to whip myself into shape by then. Started lifting weights and doing slight cardio last year October, really want to lose the fat and gain some serious muscle mass. I'll just post my workout log here. Any feedback on how I can improve or alter my workouts are welcome, thanks!

So yeah, thats basically my workout routine. I normally do arms on Monday, chest+shoulders on Tuesday, abs+stationary bicycle(cardio) on Wednesday, rest on Thursday and back on Friday. Then I normally do some light cardio during the weekend. Any critiques or opinions on how I'm going about this is most welcome. Thanks!

Jackson Stars RR-J2SP pickup question

Ok guys, i'm pretty much set on getting the Jackson Stars RR-J2SP from Ishibashi in 3 months time (hopefully they still have some in stock!). It comes with EMG-Hz pickups, and a gain booster. I was just wondering how good this pickup is? Would it be better to swap it out for a EMG 81 or something? Do i have to route the guitar or is the cavity big enough for an active pickup? And yeah, would the gainbooster work with an EMG 81 or any other passive pickup i install? Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance.

W580i Auto Off Problem

Hey guys. I bought my W580i back in November last year. Since then, the keypads have cracked already, and the slide is getting a little rough. I can live with those, but the most annoying problem is that it keeps auto off-ing. I sent it for warranty TWICE and they said its fixed, but it kept coming back. What do you think is the problem? I haven't modified or installed anything also, so i have no idea why i'm getting this problem. Thanks.

Composing solos

Sorry if this has been done before, the search bar is kinda causing problems, don't know whats wrong. I was just wondering, how do you write a solo that will be in key with a song? I've got a few compositions (songs) of my own, but i feel like they need a few solos to spice them up. How do you know what key a song is in? And how would you go about composing a solo?

Sorry, but the only aspect of guitar that i'm 'guitarded' in is theory. The only scales i know are pentatonic and harmonic minor, but all i do is play them in their 'box' shapes. Anytime i improv, i just mess around within that 1 box. Gets pretty repetitive after a while. Don't get how i can connect different 'boxes' across the fretboard. I can sweep, tap and all that stuff but i just don't know how to utilise theory to create a solo. Haven't had a lesson in my life, don't think i'll be able to attend any also for the time being, busy with uni. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot.

Hey guys, i found a few solid deals for some gear on eBay. But i was wondering, will i have to pay tax or something once the shipment arrives over here? I had my eyes on an Edwards E-AL-128 guitar which is going fr around $940. Shipping would cost $90. So, overall it would cost $1030, which is around RM3600. So, i just want to know whether i'll have to pay any extra cost over this figure. This would seem a better deal than getting the Alexi LTD sig for around RM6k here. Thanks guys.

Slash Wah pedal has OD?

Read somewhere that the Slash sig Wah pedal has an on/off button for both wah and distortion. I was just wondering, could this pedal be used as an OD pedal as well, to add gain or boost solos and such? If it can, then it might save me from getting an OD pedal as well.

PS: Amp i'm going to use it on, Randall RG50TC. When i get it of course, haha.

I was just wondering, what guitar+pickups should i get the get close to Slash's tone? The whole thing should be under RM2500.

And yeah, don't include the amp because i'm already getting one. I'm going to be getting a Randall RG50TC, so i guess the amp part is settled. I know it might not be the best amp to get Slash's tone, but i need it for my band because we play Metallica and all. Thanks in advance guys.

Hey guys, post the dumbest myth about guitars that you've heard.

Mine is something i heard my friend say. According to him, playing guitar more than 4 hours daily would cause you to lose skin and flesh cells from the tips or your finger. And in 2 years time, your fingers would be around 1cm shorter. LMAO!

Noise Suppressor?

I've got a really annoying problem. Whenever i sweep pick, i get quite a lot of string noise. My technique is above average, so i don't really think it's because of my technique. And whenever i'm playing lead, i also get unwanted noise.

So i was wondering, would a noise suppressor do the trick? Would it really be effective? If so, which one would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Flying V with these specs?

Hey, i'm really into the flying V's right now. I was wondering which i should have a look at. My budget is at max RM4500. And it's going to be used mostly for metal like A7X, COB, Trivium, Metallica and a little bit of shred.

Specs:

Both bridge AND neck pickups
24 frets
Unfinished neck (optional)
Hardtail or OFR, doesn't really matter.
Looking kickass would be a plus point.

Well, do any V's fit those specs? Or should i go custom? I would really appreciate your help, because this is going to be my main gig guitar. Just give me some input or suggestions.

PS: Don't tell me to get a new amp, i'm planning on getting a Randall RG50TC. Thanks.
