got tired of online dating, and in this brand new year, would like to try approach people directly.

there's this hair dresser i would like to date her out. so question is
- should i take it slow (small talks after several visits, which can be 1-2 months down the road) and ask her out for a drink? or directly ask her for a drink in the next visit? prior to this, i barely small talk to her, just sit and cut aje.
- any specific stuff to say, before asking her out?

i know it's a number game, but what stuff can be done and say to increase the chance of her accepting the date? previously, i tried approach on someone else (diff profession), but got rejected. guess she has bf or i not smooth enough (this case is without small talk on personal life, just small talk on the context, for example, dental, talk about dental stuff as there's no chance for you to talk other stuff during that period of visit).
