Hi guys, i use my pc for gaming during the day and before sleeping i will let it run torrent.

The spec of my current PC is as in my siggy. I want to know other than maintaining stock voltages, how to reduce its power consumption?

Another question is,
I am gonna build a new rig. My usage is same like above mentioned, but this time i need to find power efficient components.
what build should i go for? i guess most of you would recommend i5, but let me hear your opinion. thanks.

I can draw designs using Auto Cad and then convert them to CNC language (G-Code).

I wanna ask, if i am offered a part time job to draw this kinda drawings, how much could 1 piece fetch?

Formatting windows before re-installing

For windows XP, when we wanna re-install windows, we normally need to use DOS to format C: drive before installing a fresh copy of windows. After formatting for like 10 minutes, it will then proceed to copy files for installation.

For Vista and 7, when we wanna re-install, there is an option to format C: before installing a fresh copy. That formatting time only takes like a couple of seconds!

Compared to XP which takes like 10minutes to format a 60gb C: drive, isn't the Vista and 7 abit too fast?

So, here i would like to ask,
Does the formatting option on Vista and 7 really cleans EVERYTHING from C: before allowing us to install a fresh copy?
Is there any left over from the previous OS?

p/s: I am asking this because i am experiencing problem after transition to Windows 7 from Vista. Last time i upgrade from XP to Vista no problem. But that time I use XP boot disc to format the C: drive and when it is about to copy the XP files i eject the disc and restart with Vista install disc. I've check my components compatibility with 7 and all has passed.

PSU rails question

Taking tri-rails as reference,

If i want to use 1 rail for my cpu, 1 rail for mobo and 1 more for gpu, how to do that?

Can we divide the rails by just looking at the cable sleeves?

Okie i start off with my rig setup first

Proc: E6750 2.6ghz @ 3.6ghz 1.4875vcore
Ram: 2x1gb Team Xtreem DDRII-800 @ OC to 900 5-5-5-18 2.1v
Mobo: Foxconn Mars P35
Gpu: Asus EAH4890 1gb 850/3900 mhz
HDD: 320gb Caviar Blue (OS) + 1TB Caviar Black (Storage)
PSU: HEC 480UB ACE True Power 480W
Display: DELL 2409W 1920x1080 FULL HD LCD
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Directx: 10
ATI Driver: Latest ATI Catalyst released on September

Since i just upgraded from 8600GT i should feel the big gap between them, but in certain games e.g CS:Source @ 1280x1024 Max settings w/o AA,MSAA also feel the lil graphic lag. Compared to 8600GT it is of cuz better a lot, but still i dont understand how could a 4890 lag at that reso.

In MMORPG games like Perfect World, it also lags at 1920x1080 max settings.

In GTAIV, lagi lag lol. Haven even max anything yet.

But in NFS: Undercover, all maxed with 2/4x AA no problem. Smooth smooth.

From the looks of my setup, wouldn't bottleneck mah.

I am wondering whether 4890 is really that insufficient to cater for the games i mentioned?

And also, what is the software you guys use to show fps, gpu temperature when u are in full screen games?

On this Friday and Saturday there will be an event held at Lowyat Plaza (Next to Maxis store Ground floor) and One Utama shopping complex (New Wing ouside A&W).
The event is mainly and solely focusing on gathering and giving chances to potential DESIGNERS to express themselves and expand their creativity to a further extend.

As we all know, there are plenty of potential designs and ideas out there that did not get attention from the "industry". Now HP is organizing a contest to dig out the potential from within YOU and HELP YOU bring it to a further level.

The prizes are way too attractive to be missed. Of course the most interesting part is to win MONEY! yes, the winner is entitle a lump sum of US$ 50,000. Besides that, the winner will be participating in a film production called Bubblegum Crisis (showing yr 2010).

[WTA] Filling up All 4 Slots for RAM

Hi ppl,

I have a question to ask regarding RAM slots and its performance.

I am using Team Xtreem DDR800 4-4-4-10-2T 2x1gb kit on my Foxconn Mars. I intend to upgrade my total ram capacity to 4gb but do not wish to sell these off as they are very very stable for OCing.

This is my pair of RAMs.

This is a picture of my mobo. (Posted up just in case u wanna have a look)

As i mentioned that i do not wish to sell off my rams as they are OC gems, can i add in another pair of the same ram into the remaining 2 RAM slots, totaling my RAMs to 4gb and have no side effects?
I googled up and some forummers said overclockability will drop a lil, which i do not wish to. I am using E6750 @ 3.6ghz. Please advice if you know bout this, or tried this out before. If really not advisable, i'll just stick to my current 2gb kit. Thanks.

Hi folks, something came across my mind when i was trying to figure out whether i need to buy a new PSU to support my upcoming ATI 4890.

My PC setup is like below.

Proc: E6750 @ 3.60ghz 1.5v
Cooler: Xigmatek Red Scorpion
Ram: Team Extreme 2x1gb DDR800 5-5-5-15 1:1 2.0v
Mobo: Foxconn Mars P35
HDD: WD 320gb SATA + WD Black Caviar 1TB SATA
Gpu: XFX 8600GT Fatal1ty
Dvd-RW: LG 20x
Mouse: Razer Deathadder
Keyboard: Logitech USB
PSU: Acbel 480W True Power

The main question here is, is it possible to use 2 PSU to power up a PC?
Lets say, i am to buy another 400W Real Power PSU just dedicated for my 4890, is it possible?
The price is cheaper than me buying a new high performance PSU which will cost around RM500.

Feel free to shoot me if u think this is stupid.

Will muscles develop when i cut?

Since my aim is to get leaner/defined, i need to cut. Therefore, I am doing cardio, controlled diet and also weight lifting.

Will hit the gym every Mon-Fri @ 6pm-9pm.

Cardio = 30-40mins/session
Diet = Low calories intake
Weight lifting = Alternate muscle groups through out 5 days.

QUESTION

1)When i cut, can I build muscles? Because of my diet, i am not sure whether my muscles are growing or not.

2)If i start taking whey together with my diet, it will prevent muscle loss. But will muscles develop if i train them hard?

Hi folks. 2 weeks ago, i went to gym to do arms training. I did for shoulders press, lateral raises, dumbbell chest flies, dumbbell front raises, triceps extension, biceps curl, and some others. Basically, i did my shoulders, chest and arms. Before i leave the gym, i did a barbell front raise. Just like this guy's position. Imagine me pulling upward to my chest in 90'.

I felt some strange pain during my last set. Felt a slight pain. The next day woke up felt a bit more pain. Didn't bother to do anything to it and went for cardio only on that day. The following morning i woke up to find it slightly more pain than before. I guess its a minor injury so didn't really care. I took more protein hoping it will help my torn muscles recover faster. After 2 weeks, today, i felt intense pain when i fold my hands like this. IF i fold it and turn it clockwise/anti-cw (imagine the folded arm turning), it hurts badly.

The part that feels pain is the forearm. I believe its the muscle called brachioradalis as shown in the picture.
