How to reduce downhill engine braking

As topic, this characteristics of Proton Punch CVT has been a nuisance for me

To describe the behavior, imagine coasting the car downhill (accelerator pedal released, no brake) and the speed slowly picks up. What the CVT will do, it will continue to pull the engine RPM to as high as 3k RPM.

Other cars I've driven, doesn't do this. Paling banyak also 2k+ RPM without causing the engine to roar, and I just need to moderate the speed with brakes.

I prefer the later, and does anybody know how to change this engine braking behavior?

What's the oldest tyre age you are willing to use?

Condition of the tyre - stored in cool, dry place, away from heat source and sunlight. Never been used before. Surface of tyre is ok, no scrubs. No crack, no oxidation, no hardening. At most just signs of storage over those years.

Any street or road tyres, any applicable discounts, or any other factor that you can think of.
Basically, the only thing wrong is the manufacturing date.
Bottom line, you would fit that tyre, and use it like normal.

Hydrolock

I heard got one conti brand very common kena engine hydrolock, because the air intake is around knee height. Insurance cannot claim one.... is this common?

Utara Gathering meet and ride

Here's to kick off a sketch to organize a meet and ride.

Roughly is after CNY... day trip, get to meet some of the members here, active or lurker, so can put a face to names.

Decide where to meet. Then, talk about date, time, and route.
Will propose someone else to take charge on route planning etc. I can't do all these, as I'm more of a follower, and don't have GPS on my bikes.

Some riding rule will apply, so please comply:
1. Bike is tip-top condition. Mine is not, is a 30 year old 2 stroke. So, at least make sure it's road-worthy.
2. Safety gear. Helmet, gloves, jacket, pants. It's for yourself.
3. Be punctual.
4. Leave your ego at home.
5. Ride your own ride. Don't let pressure get to you. If you are lost, just stop somewhere safe, make a call, and wait for assistance.

Additional tip:
- preferably number plate, L sticker, ekzos are compliant. I said preferred. It's up to you.
- got valid lesen.
- bring enough cash for petrol
- standby raincoat
- puncture kit
- spare key

Easy for first timers to pop their Thai motorcycling cherry if not yet dont so yet. Felda road from Gerik to border is pretty nice and deserted. Cheap food and accomodations. Close to everyone up north. 3d2n more than enough.

Normal days ok..CNY break no go....it's hard enough for kapchai to squeeze through narrow roads and traffic let a lone a big bike with panniers. However balik pulau road is a fun riding road. If planning to avoid city centre maybe doable. 2nd bridge to bayan lepas to balik pulau to dam. Then back track.

Planning to buy a used GC for 4K desktop purposes, as my Radeon 7870XT card is showing its age for video playback.
Spot some PowerColor cards, but their warranty terms state cannot transfer owner.

However, the shop that sold the card registered warranty under their name, not the buyer.

Will I have be able to claim warranty later if the card dies under warranty period?

DiGi Prepaid mystery

Last time (like 10 years ago), I was a DiGi Prepaid user. It was on a Nokia 3210, and the incident occurred in a double-storey house, which I rented, somewhere near Federal Highway. I don't remember the exact address...

During those days, you can use the remaining credit until the last 10 cents. With that remaining credit, you would not be able to dial out.

Here's the funny part, I can make free calls if the 2 following conditions are met:
- I am at the upstairs balcony, and the call is made to a Penang landline.

If I am on a call and leave the balcony, the call will immediately gets dropped.
If I try to make calls to any other phone numbers, be it landline or mobile, it will not get through.

I was at the place for maybe 3 months, and benefited from it for about 2 months.

This is a sharing, and if it ever happens to anyone else, lucky you. I am just wondering if such 'network holes' still exists...
