Here's the story. My very good friend used to be very playful...like a social butterfly...2 years ago, he met this girl while he was still with her ex (at that time their relationship was not that good also but that's another story)...he decided to break up with his ex and went out with this new gal (currently his gf)...

At the beginning, it looks ok and I was happy for him coz he became serious with this girl...he was less playful and more family oriented...I know him for more than 10 years and I can see that change...he even bought a house, getting ready to get married

Recently, for a few weeks, his gf started texting me and tell me things like this weekend she and my fren not free la, advise me not to buy ciggy for him when I travel overseas la, etc..I didn't think much coz I tot he was too busy and his gf want's what's good for him...I just take note but didn't tell him...

Last week, he ask me out go dinner...and that was after his gf text me say they not free...so I replied him, "I tot u not free?"...then he ask me who told him he's not free, so I say his gf la...that's when I kinda know there's something wrong...we still went out and he told me everything...

His gf is a very controlling person and manipulative...what she has done was just the tip of the iceberg and he told me that he knows but didn't wanna tell ppl...she even lie to his family members and even his family knows...one time she caused so much trouble, his mother confronted her and scold her...his father ask him to break up with this girl...there are more stories but in short, I think she feels very insecure, over confident, manipulative, liar and gold digger...she lives with him but she don't pay a single cent on anything...the only time I hear she contributed financially was their trip overseas to Greece, and she paid half of the expense...but that one also is because she insist want to go...

Knowing him, he is a very cincai person and he thinks there's still hope if she change...he even can say shes changing a bit...I wanted to slap gau him on his face and ask him to wake up but he is just too nice...in the end, I just tell him to wait and see...but I know this kind of gal doesn't deserve him...he may not be the most handsome or richest guy but he has a good heart, generous and very patient...when im in trouble, he will always be the first to arrive...not just towards me but all our frens will also turn to him ..I wanna tell him but I just don't know how...maybe I ask him to read this topic...haha

But before I jump into any conclusion, do u think there's a chance a girl like that can change?

Update because I got a bit of time to share his story:
She used to check his phone and his conversations...but he confronted her and she has stopped doing that...
He lost a few of his close frens because they are girls and she's jealous...
She doesn't help on housework, but now she start to wash her own dishes and tidy up her stuff...but I think that's kinda like things she should do in the first place
I can't think of any good points to say about her except that she has manners and polite...

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for the comments and advice. As much as I dislike the way this friend of mine approach my private matters, I do appreciate his good intentions and hopefully we can all agree to keep things anonymous. After reading the way he describe my condition, I can't disagree with his perception nor judgement. To set a clearer picture, I will share my version of the story.

I am in my early 30's now and I have gone in and out of numerous relationships in the past. Just like a normal being, as I grew older, I became more mature and have different expectations from a life partner. This was the time I got together with my current partner. At the beginning, just like many relationships, things were very flowery and everyday was just like honeymoon. However, as we walk further down the road, responsibilities and adulthood kicks in and we have to go through tough times. I have to admit that we all have our own faults. My biggest mistake was always giving in and being accommodating.

As I give in, naturally the opposite will take control until I was push to the corner and I fought back. She has taken a lot of my space and what I need to do now is get it back. Thus, here comes the constant arguments and dissent. I believe that relationships are built from the very beginning of it and I didn't set the expectations right at that point in time. Everything my friend said about what she did is true but I don't blame her.

What I am doing now may not seem right to many people but all I am doing is just giving the relationship another chance and hopefully, both of us can change for the better. I have changed throughout my life, for the sake of the future. Thus, I have to give my partner a chance too. We have been continuously talking and tabling down our concerns. So my stance now is wait and hope for the better.

I saw a few comments about why her? I can't answer that. Looking from another person's angle, I don't have many reasons to stick to her. I guess it's called responsibilities and handling things in a more mature way. Not "piap and leave".

I also saw some comments about she will never change and I'll throw back the question to them, have you not changed before? Have you never stopped doing something for the better reasons? I believe we all have and what right do I have to take away the chance for a person to change for the better? We all have our weaknesses and if we realise it, we will change for a bigger purpose (as quoted by someone from the comments).

I hope my side of the story can balance out the scale of my friends version and people can have a better understanding. Thanks.

Why chase borrowers, not offenders?

KUALA LUMPUR: Jonathan Rasiah and his wife Serene Jeevam had looked forward to ushering in 2013 in their new home in Bandar Kinrara.

However, their dreams were dashed when the couple was prevented from moving in by a loan shark from whom the previous owner had taken a loan.

“The previous owner had borrowed money from the Ah Long and disappeared.

“So our house has been splashed with paint at least four times from the time we took possession of the property in February this year,” Rasiah told a press conference organised by the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department.

According to Rasiah, the loan shark had also padlocked the front gate of the RM530,000 house at least four times to prevent contractors from carrying out renovation work.

Rasiah added he had lodged numerous police reports and the police had even called the loan shark and told him to stop the harassment.

However, the loan shark did not heed the warning and continued with the bullying antics, said Rasiah.

Rasiah said police had also contacted the previous owner of the house and asked him to come down to the station to give a statement and provide details of the loan shark.

“But he failed to do so and has now disconnected his phone line,” said Rasiah.

Meanwhile, department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong asked the previous owner to come forward and settle the matter.

“Jonathan and Serene are being victimised by the Ah Long because they cannot find the borrower.

“If the previous owner does not come forward, we are left with no choice other than taking out an advertisement in the newspapers with his photograph seeking his whereabouts,” said Chong.

I was reading this article from the star and something just struck my mind...the police actually called up the loan shark, so they know who they are....yet they are letting them harrass people without charging them? And they are chasing after the borrower instead of loan sharks? So now loan sharks are legal? they can harrass ppl who don't repay their loans? And the whole story is saying the borrower was wrong for repaying and loan sharks are the victims...WTF is wrong with these people weh!!! Worst part is they can publish this story in the media!

When we were young, we we're poor...we had no money...at most was that RM1 a day...yet, we were happy...we could be friends with almost every single walking and talking thing alive...after graduating from secondary school, everyone went their own way, chasing dreams and looking for the ultimate prize, Money...slowly but surely, my friends tend to forget what relationships mean...they forget the people who actually understands them, and the people who probably know them better than themselves...i tried hard to keep everyone in touch after high school....organising trips, parties, BBQ sessions, yam cha, karaoke, bla bla bla...i was proud of myself back then coz i manage to keep everyone together....but it's tiring...the phone calls, the after party mess, the money, the time...I was persistent...i pushed myself to do things even when i don't have time to rest...even my gf sometimes complain that i waste too much time on such things...i didn't listen...

after 10 years of doing this, only after 10 fu**ing years, i felt like i was being used...i realised that some ppl still ask me back for rm2 i owe them, yes there was no typo...it's rm2! I went berserk one day because this friend i've known for like 20years, who f**king earns almost 100k annually, comes up to me and fu**ing ask me for rm2 i owe him 2 weeks ago! I didn't have small change to pay for my drinks that time! And a few days after that, I got accused of cheating money of rm50...why the f**k would i wanna cheat someone of rm50? even if i do want to, i'd probably do it for rm50k, not a miserable rm50! Then everything just came to my senses...i realise some of my frens are fake...i start to recall all those damn parties i organise without asking them to pay a single cent, all those trips where i paid a greater share just because some of them tell me they are broke, those damn beers that i paid for them coz it was the end of the month and cashflow can be quite tight...they now feel like colleagues to me...u know, those ppl u go out with, just because u wanna maintain that network? i give up!

I swore that I will never pay a single cent to certain ppl...i start to filter all those who thinks rm50 is worth more than a friend (let's be honest, if anyone pays me 10mil to lose a fren, i'd do it, but there should be a price for it, not rm50)....i start to realise out of 20 ppl, half of them are not real friends...now whenever i meet new frens, the first thing i will tell them is that i'm damn poor...and let's see if they really wanna keep in touch with me....

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to open ppls eyes!
