AFDD Breaker in Malaysia

Hi All,

I am thinking on installed induction for my house to make use of excess export to solar.

Last time I had induction, there was an issue with install, they just used normal electrical tape to join the wires. This lead to a lot of sparking and arcing one day.

Now I am trying to get AFDDs for induction hob, oven and bedroom sockets.

I can't find any supplier here in Malaysia, and even Singapore.

I am going to the UK soon, wondering if I can buy myself and bring it back, will it be an issue at the airport? It will not have any sirim certification, is it something i can just pay a fee and import?

If any of you know a supplier here, please do let me know. I am fine with Fusebox, Schneider, ABB and Hager.

Rating should be 40A as hob can draw 7KW

Thank you.

Xiaomi Phone Trying to Connect to Alibaba Cloud

Hello,

We have one backup Xiaomi phone in the house that keeps trying to connect to a network in China, and gets flagged by the IPS/IDS system in the network.

This is an outgoing "attack" or connection.

All other issues on the firewall seem to be with traffic from outside of the network, but the Xiaomi seems to be coming from the phone itself.

I have searched the ip and it is an alibaba cloud server, but we have not set up anything Alibaba on the phone ever, and we only every use it for making calls when the main line has no service or battery.

Anyone know why it is doing this? Or why it is getting flagged as malware?

EV appreciate, same or depreciate

Hey guys! Anyone here who owns a Taycan?

I am interested in getting one as it’s always been a dream, but now I am also looking at it as an investment + dream.

Right now there is no tax, so would I be possible to buy it now, and then sell it in 2026 with little to no depreciation?

Or would this not be the case as the car is an EV and not an ICE

I do not mind normal ICE level depreciation even after taking into account the tax differences, but does any EV owner in Malaysia have any experience with this?

Car will not be used for long distance driving. Only within KL, around 20KM a day

Use Maxis New wi-fi 6 router for VOIP only

Hey guys!

I recently switched to maxis from unifi and having a small problem.

I would like to use my own router as the main router, not access point, because I want to set my own dns and port forwarding rules on my own router.

Right now I am able to do so, but i cant access my voip line from the TM modem anymore and so I wont have a phone line.

I've tried connecting the maxis router to my router and that doesn't seem to work

I have also tried using a smart switch and using the vlan tags for both my own router and maxis router but they both didnt work after I did that.

Does anyone know if it's possible to configure the maxis router to be able to be used as a voip hub only?

This new wifi 6 router seems more restrictive and we cant even change the dns any longer.

I saw a seller on shopee selling a switch that has been configured already, but as I already have my own switch would like to know how to do that, and if it is possible to do any of this with the new maxis router before I end up buying the one on shopee

thanks in advance

Wrong iCloud message from maxis

Anybody else got a wrong iCloud purchase message from maxis with some random number even though you don’t have that number as supplementary line ?

What is wrong with maxis lately ?? Previously my cousin signed up for fibre but because I had complaint about cell service at that location before I automatically got all the messages for the fibre installation and the installation guy even called me instead of them for appointment. I have nothing to do with their account but still got called and SMSed by them non stop.

What kind of data security are they having in maxis to allow this kind of data leakage or false data placement
