Helped a friend send one of her home business products to a customer in Damansara Perdana.

Was going to be in the area for a meeting, so offered. Address was No. 1 Jalan PJU 8/10.

Literally nothing on the road. Non-descript entrance infront of Empire Damansara, goes uphill into the hills for 5 minutes, and suddenly one huge gigantic mansion out of nowhere.

Even though entire 5 minutes drive the road was empty, and just hills and forest, got 3 guard houses to pass.

I went back and searched on google maps - address doesn't come up, but I managed to get the image.

Any ideas which taikor?

BAC UOL Law - EPF Payment

Hi all,

I am pursuing my dream of reading law, and had decided on BAC's UOL (3+0) programme. I will be funding this study through a combination of my EPF savings and PTPTN loan.

I contacted BAC and a recruitment advisor told me there are 2 fee components - yearly fee of RM14, 000 to BAC and subsequent payment in GBP to UOL directly (around RM13, 000). He said BAC would assist me in applying to EPF for the total RM27, 000. BAC would then deduct the RM14 000 and refund me the RM13, 000 to be directly paid to UOL that same month.

I was excited and worked on the deposit payment. However when I got it together, a second advisor told me that EPF would only cover the BAC fees portion.

If this is the case I won't be able to afford my degree and I'll just gave to give up on this that I've been working towards for the past 4 years.

Has anyone else used EPF for the similar course, and if so please let me know which route is correct?

Changing Mexican Pesos

Is it true that no bank or money changer in Malaysia accepts Mexican Pesos? Have a fair bit left over that I could use if I could change it to RM.

Insurance Claim - Complicated!

My dad owns a car, and last year he had major surgery just before his birthday and could not renew drivers license. He is still recovering now, so still no valid drivers license.

However he renewed the insurance and road tax on the car, and I use it from time-to-time.

The insurance has "all driver" coverage.

I met with an accident, and the insurance adjuster asked my dad if he had given me permission to use the car (simple yes), and whether he had a copy of his driver's license.

As I see the policy covers the accident as long as the driver (me) has a valid license.

Anything to worry about re: the dad license?

FYI cost to repair is RM14,000 which we can't afford, so definitely gotta have the insurance.

Public Mutual Refund to KWSP - Account 3 treatment

I already opted in for account 3, and got my withdrawal etc.

I then realised that I had 6 figures previously transferred out as withdrawals to public mutual. If I were to get these amounts transferred back to EPF, will they be considered new contributions, therefore 10% goes to account 3? Or will it just be returned to account 2 and no redistribution.

Anyone has clarified with EPF on this?

Complicated Accident - advise please!

Looking for advice. I know I may be seen as gullible, or stupid, or not being on top of my life, but I would appreciate if I just get help or inputs/thoughts here, rather than any unhelpful comments.

Money has been tight, and so eventhough my insurance expired on 2 Jan, I only managed to renew it on 12 Jan. The roadtax was another couple of 100 which sounds low, but every cent counts right now, so I was waiting for salary on 31 Jan.

Meanwhile I got a request to take someone around to see some KL sights, and they would pay me. I thought I could use the money to pay the roadtax. I took them to Merdeka 118, but when I turned into the lane, it was blocked by the plastic road barrier. There was a roundabout at Chin Woo stadium to do a u-turn.

I reversed my car in order to go up to the roundabout, and I was driving really slowly (10km/h probably). However, I didn't notice there was a Toyota behind me, that was either doing an illegal u-turn, instead of going up to Chin Woo to turn, or had stopped in the middle of the road to take pictures of Merdeka 118.

My bumper was scratched badly but not dented. Their bumper was dented on the right, and had slightly caved in below the light. The couple driving the car said it was not theirs, it was their son's car. Since I had my visitors in the car, and because I was worried about the road tax, I exchanged contact details, and said I would get a quote to repair their car.

It was a Sunday, so no mechanic was open, but I got a quote for RM400. I then thought about it and decided to just make a police report anyway, because it was technically not my fault and I would let the police decide who was at fault, and claim insurance upon the outcome. However when I told the lady this, she threatened to get her contact in the police to come "settle me".

I then told her we can either settle at my mechanic when she is free (she was going back to Sungai Petani) or we can make the report, up to her. I was scared because the car address is my parents, and they are almost 80 and living alone.

She said she would go with my mechanic.

Now a week has passed, and they want to send their car to Toyota itself, which will cost RM2.5k as they will just replace the bumper.

I have refused since she had originally agreed to go with my mechanic which is much cheaper. I am thinking of making a report anyway now, and citing the late report due to Thaipusam and also the fear because of threats that she had contacts in the police. I can pay my roadtax before making the report.

What advise does anyone have on this? As insurance may not cover if the report is made too late also?
