NOL vs Electrolux

I've been to two interviews since last week, last Friday with NOL, and yesterday with Electrolux (HR). Both are MNC shared service center. NOL has just get back to me and ready to offer me the job. While Electrolux, I got another interview with the PIC (Team Leader) today at 4pm. Which. To. Choose?

NOL - offered me General Ledger Analyst. This is quite tough for me to reject because of the job scope. Instead of doing AP or AR, they get me into GL straight away. I am not sure about how NOL has been doing in Malaysia. HR wise, they haven't get me to understand their system (yeah I didn't ask them during the interview anyway). They already come up with an offer, RM2XXX. So, kind of lack of information on their development system.

Electrolux - A/P (Australia). the problem is, the HR guy underestimate me (which I believe so). I was informed that since I do not have a year of audit experience (only 5 months - during "peak period"), he is offering me junior executive level, which are paid at most RM2,000. but can go as low as RM1,800. I requested for GL position during the interview but the HR denies me. I mean, how hard it is to do A/P? he already said to me that the easiest section would be A/P - he assumed that I do not have the capability of doing GL. However, what's good about this company that it is a newly set up group. They started here only 5 months ago in Malaysia, and currently GROWING. With the numbers of countries covered are also growing, I might get the chance to learn almost everything since its inception and see, learn how it grows. Career-development - cross functional, cross countries, double cross, etc are there waiting for me. I am quite positive to this company compared to NOL in terms of career development. Job scope wise, I don't like it.

If you have further information on any of this company, please let me know. I promised NOL girl that I will get back to her, as late as Friday. Or sooner.

MRI Scan?

2 nights (Sunday night) ago I got injured my right knee again. It was a recurring injury, which I had 2 years ago. But at that time, I didn't go for any treatment.

I misplaced my right leg and it hurts my knee - mostly on the inside part of the knee. Which I suspect an LCL injury. It hurts and swell the next day (Monday).

I went to the Hospital Kajang this morning (Tuesday) to check this out, under emergency case.

The doctor checks me and requested for me to get an X-ray. Nothing happened to my bones - good news, nothing broke. What she derived from there is that I might have problems with muscle tissue or ligaments. She set me up for another check-up, about 7-8 weeks LATER. which will be on 24th October 2011. She said that she couldn't do anything because I'm still in pain and no checks can be done until I'm recover from the pain, usually it takes 4-6 weeks to recover. So that's why she arranged my appointment at the end of October, with the Orthopedic.

Is that even relevant?

Do we need to wait until the pain on my knee to recover, for 4-6 weeks before any MRI scan or other checks can be done?

If I do want to have my MRI scan at the private hospital/specialist, will I get the same treatment? wait for another 4-6 weeks before I perform the scan?

I'm on my own here, and I really want to know how much it costs me for the MRI scan, per session. I heard it costs around RM700-RM1,000. Is it true? Any recommended specialist around Kajang?

what kind of medical prescription needed to address our inability to train at the gym?
I wanted to get doctor's prescription on this because I have back/lower back problems by lifting heavy things.
this happened to me recently due to my heavy work on transferring stuff. might be because of my wrong posture during lifting.

does this possible to make me terminate the contract?
honestly, it troubles me to make some sets especially shoulder press, bench press, rowing,.

so, what is actually needed to be explained in the prescription?

How can I know lactose-free supplements?

I'm lactose intolerant.

Planning to buy supplements that is lactose free. Of course, there are rarely lactose-free supplements.
Most of them are like 97%~98% lactose free. Unless it is an Whey Protein Isolate.

Since some of the products do not describe the level of lactose, how can I check whether it is lactose free or not?
Is it in the ingredients list? such like fats or carbs?

If I'm buying whey isolate, would any of you recommend the best-easily-digested isolate products that can be bought here in the forum.
PM me the sellers nickname if you don't mind. Hardly found good-rated Isolate protein in here.

Do I need to payback the total 2-year contract price?
Is being relocated enough as a reason to terminate it?
Or maybe I have to re-sell my contract to someone instead of terminating it?

Something Eats Up Drive:C

Hi

I am not sure what is happening to my Drive C. Its always low on disk space. I've tried to find what actually causes my drive memory sooo low.

So this is what I found :

1) C:\Windows\winsxs : 5.47GB Full with This type of files > msil_addinprocess_b77a5c561934e089_6.1.7600.16385_none_f774a5dff3f1e54a

that files is almost hundreds / thousands and I don't know what to do with this

2) C:\Windows\System32 : 2.37GB This one full with application extension files. Such as .dll...which seems like too much for me. It also holds a lot of empty folders. I don't know why these files exist anyway.

3) This one is more interesting, I think lah..

a) C:\Program Files\BitDefender : 1.58GB

b) C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender : 4.02GB

Why on earth that I have "common files" in Program files? I thought Program files are all applications that I installed to my PC. I don't remember installing "common files".

AND this b) files, full with plugins files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Threat Scanner (made up most of the memory of 4GB)

the number sequence is from file av32bit_24406 to av32bit_24436, dated from 10 June 2011 to 12 June 2011. It even bothers me, it states time of files created consistently an hour after another. What is wrong with this BD?

Well that's all for me. Just now I first check my drive C, it left only 1.06GB.. all of the sudden, after all these checking that I've made, left ONLY 50.5MB

I'm newbie in this.
Bawah Belakang

Hello all,

I've been goin to gym and do some light workouts for almost a year now. my goal is not specifically to get bulky. I only wanted to try out myself. and get sweat.

however, these past 2 weeks, I started to feel some pain at my lower back. bare in mind that I dont do heavy workouts.
usually my max set (commonly be bench press is only total of 30kg, so do shoulder press)

I dont know how did I get this. is it because of my posture during exercise? especially when doing back/shoulder workouts. those I believe would contract more of my lower back. well, I believe most exercises we actually need to use our lower back.

apart from that, 1 thing that concerns me is, I have a small waist. 29" only. while most guys would probably have 31"-32".
my shoulder width can be seen quite wide compared to my waist. it is not balanced. Is there any specific workouts that can target my waist to be a little bit wider (other than--- eat eat eat). yeah, or is it the only way?

lastly, is my torso. I barely see any changes to my torso. it does not widen at all (might co-related to my waist). I could see some people somehow have a wider torso.

those are the problems.

Solutions? :

1) most of the time, I rarely do deadlift/squat. this is due to my weak knee (got an injury long time ago). should I focus on this 2?
2) I dont go heavy >40kg usually because I trained alone. so I dont have enough support. is it because of this my torso does not change at all? Should I start to do some heavy presses??
3) should I take a rest for now since my back is still in pain. for arms - chest - legs exercises, I dont feel any pain on my back. but I can't do sit ups / anything that focus on abdomen exercise (+ with shoulder and back exercises). usually how long it takes to recover? and how to strengthen my lower back?

thanks for your reply.
I really appreciate it.

Regards.

Dialog Group Berhad - Internal Auditor

I've just been offered for this position (entry level).

Frankly speaking, I have never been an internal auditor. If there are any of you that willing to help me out on what to expect in this department, I would be thankful.

Briefly about Dialog Bhd - it is an O&G company. that's all I'm aware of.

1) Traveling - travels a lot. and I mean, A LOT! I've heard that IA will always travels around the company/subsidiaries/plants and sort out things there and then.

2) Paperwork? Yeah, what about paperwork? need to prepare report for everything and anything? print out paperwork like the madddd?? (I did this before as a trainee @ local audit firm)

3) FUN and ENJOYABLE / FACE YOUR JOB 24hours - NO LIFE ?

4) What exactly needed to stay in this department? Do I really need to update myself with all sort of new practices and be a brain-nerdy-man?

That's all for now.
Sime Darby

I might be joining Sime Darby (SD) on 1st June 2010 as intern. To start off, I had attended an interview for their Management Apprenticeship Programme (MAP) few weeks ago. Fortunately, I got a call from them for 2nd interview. I went to meet up one of the previous interviewer during MAP, and she talks about their interest to take me as intern so that I can get used to the SD working environment etc. They look at me as some sort of potential candidate it seems. but still, they have not inform any of the other applicants about the results of the interview, just yet. so they show their interest to me that way.

so now if I go SD, I will be joining as intern for 1 month with rm1k allowance, then I will follow their MAP for about a year, rm1.5k monthly based on contract (they will absorb me as permanent if I perform during the period).

the point: taking into account SD's current issues on their losses of RM1.6b, is there any future eco/career benefit for me to join SD? or they might just taking me as low labor cost? (she did said that SD is now understaff). 1 good point that I found if I am to join from a co. that is losing rm1.6b is that I might be able to gain knowledge on how to handle costs in a more efficient way, indentifying things (internal controls, sop, etc) and of course there will be tonnes of work to do. I could learn vital knowledge on the matter in depth.

not to mention this, but I might attend an interview @petronas someday to be informed this week.. --> some kind like, should I attend the interview or should I proceed only to potential employer, SD (if i took the contract, I will be bound with SD for 1 year). thanks yoh. ah and im degree of accountancy holder.

CIMA / ICAEW / CA / ACCA?

Im fresh grad with a degree of accountancy (hons) from local university. I would like to know if any of you care to provide me some of your knowledge/experience in the accounting realm. as we all know in accounting, there are just too much, yes, TOO MUCH path to take on. and I know that we have been feed with every type of recognition (CIMA, ACCA, CA, ICAEW, CPA etc.) its just that since im green freshie, I just want get some info from any of you with those backgrounds (CA/CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW) in terms of the fees, coursework, period, future prospect, etc(grossly).

I know that those thing can be googled, but in terms of real-world situation, indeed experience provides me with in-depth knowledge on them.

to start all with, Im interested more in managerial accounting (CIMA/ICAEW) however, i did take some of the management accounting subjects in my degree and honestly speaking, my grade had nvr gone above B+. am I capable to take CIMA/ICAEW? I know its tough. that is why there are less people taking CIMA instead of ACCA (thats my opinion) but I bet, in the near future, there will be just LOADS of ACCA holder when you can just pick any accountant with ACCA background. so to hold CIMA/ICAEW might get me in a different advantage from them. freshie's anticipation is bad, but thats what i believe myself. we do need to forecast things am i right?

at least any of your replies will be able let me 'see' the path im taking later. and please don't argue between you for some non-sense facts/opinions. because i saw some of the posters argued on others' opinion and the thread just getting OFF topic. get it straight to the point, I'll try my best to judge the comments. but its ok to correct anything thats wrong. that might sound quite cocky to ask, but.. well

thanks in advance.

ive got damaged ligament over 8 months ago.
and i did not do any physiotherapy for my right knee since then
however, ive started to go to gym and work out. at the same time, i will do some leg exercise to improve my knee strength.

ive been told by a friend of mine that:
"when we are working out our upper part, we should not combine the upper part exercise with lower part exercise.
most of the protein will eventually starts to repair tissues at the lower body first, then it goes to the upper body. so the impact for the upper body to grow will become slower"

my focus is to gain my weight
i nd to bulk up first with some heavy lifts
and i only do light weight training for my legs.

will my physiotherapy affects my mission in workout?
or i should not even bother because there is no impact at all?
