Post Car Accident Questions

So I got into an accident less than 2 weeks ago and have been checking on the mybayar website for the keputusan which came out on Saturday.

The thing is the IO said dua2 salah so no need keputusan and just use the report and claim with own insurance. Which is the intention, but something was nagging me to wait and see if the keputusan got say otherwise or suddenly the IO saman me or what. Anyway, I still needed the car last week so couldnt send for repairs.

Anyway, in the mybayar system the keputusan is out and they ask to pay RM20 to get all the relevant documents, including the keputusan (written as 2 units). However the price is RM 0 for the keputusan. Does that mean no keputusan or is it memang free wan? No saman so I guess its all good.

Also, the service centre said I dont need to do anything or submit any document to insurance, they will do everything. Do even need to contact them it seems. I dont know if it is odd or not. Its a proton service centre (in Klang Valley and it has a goodish reputation). Is it common for them to settle for me the claims?

Physical Driving License

Can we get a physical driving license if we request to reissue in the mysikap system? There is a button there that says to reissue, which then take you to the payment portal for RM20.

I dont mind paying for it, but just wanted to know a couple of things:

- If I renew this way, does it come with a full driver license with photo or just slip pembaharuan?
- Even after paying online and going to the jpj branch to collect, will I still be asked for supporting documents (travel details)

I am not going to travel but need if for verifications purposes, so it has to be a physcial photo ID (excluding IC, so its either driving license or passport which I dont plan on renewing soon).

So just wanted to ask if anyone had experince with this, especially with the mysikap route?

I am kind of lookingforward to going back to work on Tuesday. Its not work that, but the drive that I take in the mornings and evening that I look forwards to.

I spend around 2 hours or so on the road a day, but those are the two hours that I kind of look forward too, more often these days.

Work sucks, Home sucks. There is a certain bliss with blasting the music on the car stereo and just enjoying the drive. Those moments of solitude are what that keeps me sane at times.

Thats all, nothing more than that.

Email from Kastams

I just got an email from Jabatan Kastam. It obviously seems like a scam, something about Pelanggan Tm and Belanjawan akan dibentang pada November 2022. No date and was incomprehensible.

Asked to give info and WhatsApp to a hp number or email to customs outlook dot my.

But the weird thing is the email was sent from an @customs dot government dot my email address, which is thr legit email handle for customs.

Boleh ke they spoof and email from the customs server like that?

Cuti On Friday

Admittedly was ill prepared and sitting here just waiting now. Sebelum ini pakai kereta second hand. Just call my local workshop and they'd will pick up and send back.

CC block transction

Was looking at some deals for laptop on lenovo website and decided to to make the purchase. But kept saying could not verify my card.

Called up the bank and apparently Lenovo website is blocked by bank due to previously reported fraudulent activities. I have to make a request to unblock for a single transcation baru boleh pakai.

Have not encountered this before.

Also, a known brand also can get blocked one is it? Its from their offical website/store.

Anyone experience this before?

Getting New Car

After God knows how long, I'll be getting my new car. Yes, it a proton so nothing to be excited about, but it's my first brand new car. Past cars were 2nd hand ones, so mostly just buy, use and abuse thr car only.

After inspecting the car and collecting from the showroom, what should I do first to get it ready? Things like tinting and stuff like that. Its a white car, so should I do anything to protect the paint?

Any ideas are much appreciated.

Deceased with no will

Someone passes away without a will, leaving behind 2 children (adults). What is the next step invlove?

I did go thorough a few website/articles, but still have some queries.

Regarding the valuation of the assest, how will it be done? Do I need to get a valuation of the property and if so who do I approach to do this?

In the case of no will, do I need to engage a lawyer? Past experince dicatates that no need for harta kecil (less than 2 mil).

Is there anything else that I should know?

FYI, there is no dispute among the next of kin.

New car buying procedures

I made a booking for a proton car last month through their website. The SA from the 3S centre near me directed me to the proton website and was asked to register and make the down payment there. I was told that as soon as I make the booking fees of RM 100, my name would be placed on the queue to get allocation once it becomes available.

I had some delays in sending my documents due to delays from my bank, but eventually had it done and a loan for 2.8% was approved (7 years). But now my SA says that they got new directives from Proton that said you would only be placed on the queue once you sign the LOU (or some other documents, I might have got the term mixed up). So, in short, from being promised to getting before Raya, I am going to have to wait for another 3 to 6 months. By the way, apparently, it’s a new directive from proton which only implemented 2 weeks after I made the booking. He did not know how to explain it me it seems!

I find this odd because the Toyota SA I met told me that since the vios has 3 months waiting period and the banks loan offer would only last for 3 months, I should just make the booking fee first to get on the queue and as we approach the nearer to ETA, then only apply for the loan.

Is this true, about the being placed on the queue only after signing the LOU? I don't want to sign anything until I know what is really going on.

Should I cancel my booking and go somewhere else? Mind you the only reason I chose this place was because it was near to me. Plus, if I change to another place, it’s going to take another 3 months.

Lastly, am I being paranoid and just overthinking?

Persona 2022 Infotainment

Hi.

I got a question on the floating infotainment system.

If I am not mistaken, it uses either qd link or ez connection to mirror the phone screen, right?

Does the mirroring function work while the car is moving? The SA I saw said it only works while the car is stationary.

Can I control the phone through the touch screen while connected through the qd link app?

Has anyone changed it to a better after market one, if yes were you not concerned about voiding your warranty?

If I were to consider changing it, are there any specfic technical specifications that I should be looking for, ie size and so on.

Hi. As mentioned in the title, I am looking for a plumber to do some urgent repairs at home. My previous plumbers have either retired or are not available due to overwhelming jobs or the CNY.

Where do you usually get your plumbers from, especially if you are looking for a new person? Is mudah a safe place? Lack of any reviews makes me sceptical.

Any other registry of somewhere I can get info from?

Got a Norton Spam Email

As per the title, I was actually looking at norton antivirus website, looking for options as my antivirus is about to expire in a month or so (currently using bitdefender, probably sticking with them but was just shopping around).

So today I got an email from a gmail account (allired something) to an nortoncc2021@outlook.com and bcc to me. Normally I would not bat an eye and just put into the spam folder. However, I am concerned that if there is a breach since the email came a day after I browsed Norton's website. FYI, I did the search on my work PC which is connected to the office LAN line and my work email is used to login, even in chrome. But the email came to my personal email. Also, at no time did I key in my information into the Norton website, just was looking at the price.

I do a weekly system scan and daily malwarebyte scan. I just reset/reformat my phone yesterday (was done not in relation to the current problem). I am not sure what else should I do.

Should I be worried? What else can I do?

As per the title, do you put your washing machine inside the house or leave it outside?

Having a 'discussion' at home now on where to put it. Before this the machine was inside the house but there was a slit under the backdoor which was used to run the water and outlet tube. However, my area got rat problem so, had to put something to block it. Now because of the flood, the door needs to be replaced, so I am suggesting to get a door completely sealing so rats can't come in; making a hole in the wall for the water and outlet. But someone else say cannot, just leave the door open or put the washing machine outside; no one makes holes in the wall for these kind of things, it seems.

So, which is it? The one which is practical or the one that "follow" convention?

Went through mudah. They asking for lot of documents, payslips and what not is it normal? No electricity to even print those documents.

I need to go do my lesen memandu. Can't do online coz something about gambar tiada.

Was planning to go next week and get it done, but I saw a newsportal saying that the queue there is very long, even if you go there first thing in the morning. They even say the officers says sistem down, so cannot do anything.

Betul ke macam ini? Is it the same at post office? Anyone went to do it in the past week or so?

Appreciate and feedback. Atleast I can know what to expect.
