wifi router so slow?

first of all, i WOULDN'T even open a new topic if i havent search for solutions by myself.
and i've given up looking for answers.

okay, i'm using dlink di-624+ wireless router.
the problem is, the internet is so slow although signal is 'good'.
how can i fix this? how to boost up the speed?
when i use wifi at other places, speed is okay.
but in my home, its weirdly slow!

example: im downloading torrent... although peers and seeds are mostly online.. my downloading speed is so slow. my listening port is open. so what could have caused this??? please help.

p/s: my internet is slow when it comes to downloading only. when surfing okay.

Can i still install vista to other pc?

hi everyone. i hope you guys can help me understand this.

my system recently crashed and i sent my computer to be reformatted.

i'm thinking of having my own vista OS.

the thing is, if i install the OS and activated it..
can i still install the OS on OTHER pc and activate it again?

or does it mean that ONE OS is for ONE pc only??

HP Compaq Presario V3514TU problemss..

my experience using HP???
i must say that it sucks big time.. i mean.. all along that i've been using it since last month... it never satisfied me..

my model is HP Compaq Presario V3514TU..
i bought it as FreeDOS.

first i installed it with XP Pro..
let me tell y'all the probs..
everything was fine with XPPro.. except that...
HP didnt provide driver for LAN network card. WIFI was working great.. so it's just that i couldnt get connected using land line.
and then i checked at their website.. they only provided such driver only for VISTA...

so i decided to install Vista then....
everything is okay to me.
Network card now works very fine.. except for the WIFI!!!!
even if the connection status is Good.. it couldnt get connected....

so.. the problem is now.. when using XP, network card didnt work.
now using Vista, wifi not working at all!!

it sucks and sucks and sucks that HP dont provide ALL drivers needed by the notebooks.!! my advice is... dont buy freeDOS from HP...!!

i'm so madddd and angryyyy!!!

presario v3514 internet features make me sick!

hi everybody.
last few weeks i bought presario v3514...
freedos.
had to install evrything myself.

b4 this i had problem finding intel wireless driver... i coulnt get wifi before..now okay already.

but now the problem is.. i cannot get connected to the internet using cable.... it really sucks... it should be working...

anyone pls tell me how i can fix this... is there anything i missed???? thansk sooo much for being helpful!!!

should i get XP PRO or VISTA?

i heard vista isnt that compatible with most computers
i think vista has beautiful themes and all.
but im used to xp pro.
so, i wonder if vista has problems installing standard softwares like...
bearshare.. photoediting software and everything such.
