Lai2 come in.. today I want to ask everyone:
Got smell strange smell or not? You know, the sudden smell that appears out of the blue.
For example, last time i pray outside late at night after come back from work, just for syok2 feel outside with cool air etc..
That time around 2 or 3am. Suddenly have smell like lime. Puzzling thing is I don't plant any lime near my house. Takkan it's the Chinese house next door plant the small lemon tree? 🤔
Another time I go smoke outside at 4.30am, suddenly have overpowering sweet out of this world flowery smell. I quickly hide, thinking next door auntie going to work, wear alot of perfume.. but no one was around. I just ignore and continue smoke.

SSD on IDE follow-up questions

As topic above, need /k advice on using an SSD on IDE interface on my laptop. As some of you suggested to use an SSD with an IDE, care to let me know:

1. How to fit the SSD with adapter in the hard disk caddy, since the caddy has to be screwed onto the board. If it's longer than the caddy, then the screws wont align. Do i have to get the smaller adapters? My hard disk size is 2.5", 100mm x 70mm x 9.5mm. Hard disk model is Hitachi Travelstar 4K120 HTS421260H9AT00 - hard drive - 60 GB - ATA-100 Series. This hard disk is damaged already, always makes a klong klong sound and affects the sleep mode in Linux.

2. Which SSD and adapter you use? Is this item ok to use? It looks small and narrow to fit in the limited space.

3. Any install issues? Is it able to recognize the SSD and boot up Windows / Linux?

4. Any other issues you faced?

Will need to get one soon to do some exams soon. Haven't done any surveying for laptops either since I have much to study and MCO.

Hey everyone,
I just got my Google IT cert a couple of days ago 🎉🏆. I still have several other courses to complete so the learning journey isn't over yet.
So I was wondering what path should I choose. Remaining courses are cloud computing like AWS, GCP and Azure. My goal is, I dont wanna be in one place.
In the long run I'm looking to go other countries like ID, VN, SG, TH since many tech companies opening shop there.
I'm a shitty programmer by the way. So anything that's related to programming is out of the question for now.
What are the possibilities?

Suggest me some options:
1. Desktop or laptop.
2. Usage is light to moderate, for web browsing, watching videos maybe run some emulators (vmac, basilisk ii). Not doing any heavy stuff like serious gaming all.
3. Need to be basic but not to the point that it lags when doing the most basic stuff obviously. Can consider a more higher end model if it's worth it.
4. Prefer something I can use longer. My first pc bought in 2000, used until 2008. Upgrade then once and the board failed sometime in 2012. Already have an old case, keyboard, 2 X 40gb hd Do I just need a board, CPU, SSD and ram, or just buy all new wan?
Edit: budget not so sure, say around 1.3-2.0k on average, maximum 3k.

Dual CPU boards

Anyone use a dual cpu board on their computer? Not dual cores 👌
I saw a few on Shopee, so i am curious.
How to upgrade? Say i use i5 on one slot, then later i add i9,can ar?
How is it? Fast or about the same as single cpu board?

As per topic, share your experience on Chromebook, Chrome OS (and deriavtives like Chromium OS, Cloudready etc).
Using for work, play or study?
Is it really fast as claimed? Eg. 30 sec boot.
Any hardware issues? Eg. Wifi not detected, can't acces Android on ADB etc.
Any sites don't work?
For laptop, does the power saving work?

Quick question for /k:
If withdraw from meps, can the host bank trace your contact number etc? I know meps for now no rm1 fee… but last time have bank people call to offer card etc.
can they trace? 🤔

Eg: I using Public Bank, then i withdraw at al-rajhi. Can they see hey this guy no card loan etc with us.. ok pull the contact for marketing.

I hope /k can advise about this matter.
Long story short, former colleague in a bad situation for some years already.
1. Unemployed
2. No cash for expenses
3. No proper place to stay, moving here and there and tumpang at friends place.
4. 1 & 2 believed to be caused by someone doing something to her,making her unable to hold a job.

She is currently tumpang a zakat house in Beranang, Selangor.
How can I get help to her. A friend runs a charity but not in Selangor, so he can't help. I have asked him if he knows any contact over there.

Anyone know any groups or NGOs that can help?

And anyone know a good place to help with matter #4 also can, since she has been going here and there, and mostly the ones she meet require payment in the hundreds (which she obviously can't afford). P/S: Does her religion matter in regards to any spiritual treatment? Because she is in complicated situation in regards to this also.
