Help with setting up my network

Hey there guys,
Recently my dad bought me a new PC and I set up the PC in my room in the third floor in my house. I pinjam my friend's WLAN card and installed it in my new PC, but you see, the problem is, i receive very very very weak signal on the third floor and internet surfing is very very very slow. (Streamyx and the wireless router are on the first floor).
So i'd decided to try something called "HomePlug" which my friend introduced to me. And now what i want to ask you guys is this the correct way to setup the HomePlug?

By the way, this is the homeplug which im going to get.

Turning my computer into an access point

Greetings my fellow friends,

I currently have a PC with a PCI WLAN card inside. I'd plan to turn my whole PC into a wireless access point without buying a router. The reason I'm doing this is I want to connect my PSP to the internet through my computer. Do I require any softwares to get this done? Your guide for my problems are greatly appreciated.
